I found the boss in Elden Ring that people are complaining about very early and was severely outclassed. After progressing and getting the blessings it is still a very difficult fight but more doable. You don't have to stay on one boss if you are having problems just come back after getting stronger. No reason to put all those bad reviews for difficulty
Yea I just found that boss, but I explored a lot of other areas first and found the upgrades so it's still difficult but not to much more challenging than some base game bosses
@@kingjonny394Which boss are people talking about? I've only come across one official boss so far and I beat it on my first try. This expansion doesn't really feel any more difficult than the later areas in the actual game.
The excellent channel Nintendo Forecast had a video recently on Brothership and surmised that ILCA was probably in charge of development. In a follow up, he tracked down all known devs from AlphaDream and the result was surprising.
Astrobot not being in VR was the first real sign Sony has waived the white flag. Without a real flagship 1st party VR title it was destined to fail. Very sad news, especially as a PSVR 2 owner
Sony abandoning the PSVR2 is on par for them. If it’s not a PlayStation they give a half hearted effort and then move on. Sony has never learned they have to actually give their full support if it’s going to have a possibility of being successful.
The same can be said for Nintendo "Vr"ToyCon and Xbox Kinect and just everything Xbox / Microsoft has done lately. At least Nintendo and Sony keep the awesome 1st party games coming!

One thing I will say about Shadow Of The Erdtree is I don't know why they couldn't just have the enemies scale like they do every time you new game plus. Finding seeds to make your character better in dealing/receiving damage is pretty dumb to me.
PS3 games running natively would be amazing, but what we need from all three consoles is the ability to rip game data from our old physical games so we can play from the disc alone, then give us the option to download the alternate version which may lose content but includes a higher FPS/resolution. Being reliant on these servers to play old games isnt good, let us experience whats on the disc/cartridge and not their edited version which alters the original game.
@@zerorig Already buying from them Primarily and I hope more people do the same, just got Beyond Good and Evil for 3 bucks since I have a feeling it could be delisted for the new game coming soon.
Anyone can buy and play PS4 and PS5 physical media rn. 80% of PS players don't. That's what the market wants. That's players choice. No evil company is forcing them. Adapt or get left behind.
In Dark Souls 2 there is an optional Boss, divides your damage by 32/16/8/4/2/1 at 0/1/2/3/4/5 Giant Souls you get in the game. If you try him without any Giant Soul, the boss feels totally impossible. Im sure, that Fromsoft does something similar in the ER DLC, but this has to figure out first. It was never intended to "brute force" a Souls like, if there are still new things you don't know yet.
I was reading a news story about a thief that was ended by a truck's owner at the same time I was listening to this and at one point someone commented "he valued the stuff in the truck more than he valued his life" and then at the same time Spawnwave said "but come on, a Jim Ryan bobblehead, you gotta get that" and I actually experienced a moment of disorientation where the two stories were the same for a moment and I thought Spawnwave was saying that a Jim Ryan bobblehead was worth getting ended over.
I don't understand why people hold leakers in such high regard. I'm honestly glad they're gone. They just ruin surprise reveals, and it's not like I can just block them and move on since everyone else spreads the leaks. F-Zero 99 and Mario vs Donkey Kong remake would have been nice surprises if he didn't leak them before the September direct. This month's direct was one of the best because the reveals weren't leaked before and were genuine surprises.
As someone who has not played Elden Ring, I think we might be using the term "review bombing" a bit liberally here. We usually use it when players use negative reviews to voice their opinions about company business practices. It sounds like these are normal negative reviews about the gameplay and/or performance.
These reviews are most likely from casual players to the franchise. When elden ring released there was a simlair voice being used. These games aren't for the weak of heart
19:34 Thanks for reading my comment, Glad you enjoy my name! Lol. I truly believe PlayStation Stars will be the new rewards program. Certainly feels like it. Sony is doing more things with Stars then they are with VR. Honestly I'd love to have a PlayStation Home 2 supported by VR with physical representations of Stars trophies you could put around your room.
What people don't understand, and Fromsoft hasn't explained, about Erdtree, it basically dumps the regular level progression system and replaces it with Scadutree fragments. Whatever level someone had fighting Mohg to access the DLC is effectively SL1 and you have to "level up" by collecting fragments.
I can see both sides of that. One of the things that made Elden Ring so popular (in comparison to other FromSoft games) is the open world allowed people to level up to whatever level they wanted to before taking on a certain boss. This new system kinda kills that with a limited number of upgrades you have to find in various places scattered throughout the expanded section
@@thatoneguy1821 no, most people just want instant gratification and easy wins. The new level system is great because it doesn't ruin the base game making things still somewhat challenging if u ever wanna do NG+ and go back. PEOPLE need to get humbled and ask themselves is this game for me? Because if so there is nothing wrong with learning the boss moves or using summons and Npcs or just getting help. @@thatoneguy1821The new system brings it back to its roots which it kind of lost with base game open world and leveling system. When Elden Ring came out. I waited a couple of months for patches to improve stabilization and they did boss tunings. So I will probably wait for November to get Erdtree. Looking forward to it later this year on Steam.
Quite an odd mistake for Pyoro to make here... Their wording (at least from what we see in Jason's article) seems pretty intentionally vague. This suggests they were already being cautious but still somehow let critical details slip by. All I can say is oof.
Plot twist Schreier is actually Pyoro and now that Pyoro is gone it leaves him fine to set up a new account to continue the leaks (Please understand this is a joke)
Haven't started Shadow of the Erdtree yet. Just finishing up the Platinum on Stellar Blade. My son, an avid FromSoft/SoulsBorne player, is playing it and said it is pretty brutally difficult. He actually decided to restart the game fresh as the profile he was trying to play through the DLC with was a NG+3 and he was just getting smashed. Saw him fight one of the earlier dragons and the amount of damage they were dealing was insane, even for a FromSoft game.
I really love how licensed music is a deal breaker for porting/rereleasing- as if musicians get sooooo much money and really hurts the companies so much 🙄
Checking Shadow of Erdtree Team reviews, a lot of the negatives are about shoddy performance. Hopefully that will be fixed and people go back to update their reviews. They have a lot of recent positive reviews of people responding to all the haters, saying, "get gud". XD
But you can parry, it just works different than Sekiro. Just use mimic and invoke friends or npc’s. Elden Ring if anything is the longest but easiest souls I’ve ever played.
GT7, Saints and Sinners, Synth Riders, Horizon, RE4, RE7, and RE8, Star Wars, etc. The issue is that SONY doesn't push it. There is no reason that all FPS don't have a VR component. Can you imagine DOOM Eternal on PSVR2? The issue was that there are TONS of amazing games on VR stuck on PSVR1...dozens of them.
I finished the Elden Ring DLC, all bosses, in about 20 hours and now in on a secondary character making another run at it. I finished most the bosses in one try or very few tries, except for the final boss, I had to Respec to beat that boss. BUT... I am playing on fully optimized end game builds, with all the optimal buffs to make my character do crazy damage.
I think a consistent issue for Sony is the lack of AA games. You don't have to look further than Nintendo to see how important those titles are. Not everyone plays the AA games, but it's a reason to be on the console for a portion of the userbase and when you have 10 games like that then suddenly you have a pretty big user base.
It sure feels like the big chunk for the player bases on consoles are composes of indies and AA games given how long AAA games take nowadays. Given how Sony straight up remove their big chunk of AA studios, you really feel the gapping hole in their library compare to prior generations.
AA Games is a consistent issue for EVERYONE, not just Sony. Even when MS has a AA game they try to pretend its some AAAA experience. The first Hellblade did OK because it was basically a AA indie title. The sequel comes out and MS wants to pretend its some AAAA life changing top tier title on a console where the users don't actually purchase games. Both of them are too afraid to make anything that doesn't cost 100 million plus

I hate that the biggest news from any show has been revealed to us years ahead of time.
Regarding Elden Ring, if there's one thing I've learned from mainstream discourse about performance issues, it's a hardware problem. If there's a second thing I've learned from Switch discourse, it's an optimization problem.
They use *completely* different tracking systems. It's not like they simply had to hit a switch and have it work again, but they chose not to. Realistically they should have encouraged developers to make an updated port that takes advantage of the superior hardware, but when Sony themselves refuses to do it for their own games (despite the VR community asking for it over and over and over), it's not hard to see why others wouldn't bother either. Really sucks cause overall, psvr2 is pretty good if you're into VR. I love mine.
What is hard to grasp about the controls being completely different. Even IF they did that it would require devs to go back and recode their entire game to support the new control method. Its not rocket science less than 1% of devs would be willing to go back and recode an entire game
@@jessekoepp3928 Damn so emulation of old systems just doesnt exist then? Do you think we cant emulate older hardware through software? Cause it can be done, and the PSVR mechanics can and will be emulated down the road by the community or sony (most likely the former).

I always said that this leaking business is a useless job. Don't know why people do it. But Jason messed up big time. A vital part of a journalist's job is the trust between source and client. Without that journalists don't go far at all because no one will talk to a backstabber. If it's true that Pyoro didn't give consent then Jason shouldn't have published this. Jason should have asked consent.
Assuming you're off the record without explictlh asking "is this off the record" is asking for trouble. Better still, say nothing and it can't be used against you.
Didn't he admit to his source on Twitter before? So the ship long sailed. Really, someone going "Yes." when asked if their source is Nintendo's backend is quite crazy. Why would you admit that?!
Nintendo not telling people the developer might actually be a good thing. People buy games or dont buy games based solely on who the developer is often. People get burned a lot pre ordering because they love a developer and didn’t wait for reviews. I do think titles should stand on their own instead of using past performance of a studio that has high turn over (they all do)
As time goes on it feels like VR may go the way of 3D. It can make a comeback in the future if somebody does something truly revolutionary with it. Until then I feel like it’s going to fade away. Meta is even shifting more and more resources from VR to AI.
Tho unlike 3D VR does indeed have more viable and unique game applications. It's not really going to fade away, but it's not going to be the the big capital given how Meta pretty much screw over the chance for others to gain market share. Especially now that VR have reach a point of being small enough with pancake style lenses! What unfortunately hasn't been reachable are the prices. And given how valve haven't made a new headset in years we may not have a possible alternative.
You know the beautiful thing about Elden ring SoE you don’t have to kill the bosses in order if you feel too week keep looking for the upgrades. You can unlock the whole map without killing any boss
What a scummy move from Jason. Seriously, who does that? I guess someone who suppresses corporate abuse victims to profit off their suffering. I hope nobody trusts him in the future. Also, Pyoro shouldn't have talked. Period. You don't talk, especially to journalists and the police.
I have to wonder if Nintendo going to go after Pyoro, or the source that’s been feeding them information. Unless the fact that they’ve fixed the webpage backend problem is already enough as is.
PSVR2's whole purpose wasn't to grow and promote VR. It was just something Sony could present shareholders with and claim, they have "The world's best VR hardware on the market" at the time. Remember, Sony is an electronics & hardware company first and foremost. And they weren't competing with non-existent Xbox VR. They were competing with Meta, Apple and Google on who has (had) the best cutting edge VR hardware at the time. PSVR2 fulfilled it's short-lived purpose and is now being abandoned because it was never about the games, or bringing VR to the masses and expanding it.
Ninja Gaiden 3 on NES. Could not beat it without a game genie. NG1 took me a month in 5th grade to defeat, then NG2 was beatable in a night. NG3 felt like an overcorrection.
PlayStation is giving PSVR2 the Vita treatment. I personally believe PlayStation should never touch on the idea of both a handheld and VR products ever again.
Just looking at the steam charts the number of concurrent players has increased by almost 500k. They really haven’t added any new content outside of the DLC so I would assume the vast majority of those people are playing the DLC
EVERY first party Sony game released post PSVR2 should have some sort of PSVR2 feature - doesn’t need to have the whole game, but it should have more subtle support on every first party game. There is zero excuse for this. Spiderman 2 should have at the least had 3rd person camera support for PSVR2.
There are quite literally thousands of games out there that hold your hand. Why must people insist on ruining the VERY FEW that don't just to cater to their personal sensibilities?
People being upset a leak source has been patched/already not liking Schrier is really coloring how effing stupid Pyoro was in responding in the first place, let alone assuming it was off the record. Protip: journalists aren't asking you questions for their health!
When it comes to games that are too difficult I often don't finish them, but I do play a large portion of them just for the experience. I never finished any souls game, but I enjoyed playing the game for the amount I did play. However at some point I just want to move on to another fun experience instead of constantly retrying the same experience over and over again.
I don't think Microsoft's comment about not being able to comment on other platform deals for Wukong is an acknowledgement that there is a deal - it sounds to me more like they can't or won't comment on deals that have or haven't been made by other companies. Looks more like them just saying "that's not the type of thing we'd comment on either way"...
The portal was a success? People bought that thing even though it requires constant internet access basically limiting you to at home use entirely defeating the point of the device.
PSVR2 is failing because there's only 4 or 5 big games and that isn't enough to justify spending more then the price of the PS5 so Sony cutting game support dooms it
Honestly the whole thing with leaks is kind of ridiculous in the first place. Speculation is one thing but I miss when nobody knew what was happening and people were surprised. I feel like that was also what’s kind wrong with the game industry along with people having too high of expectations
I'm curious how making someone's physical game they have already paid for years ago work on your current console requires licensing agreements. Sounds like a bullshit excuse not to put the effort into making certain games BC. If I can put the disc in my Xbox360 and play it, what legal reason is there to not be able to put it into the Series X and play it?
Well, it's not like the old days of wii and early ps3 where backwards compatibility was built-in ahead of time cause now it's too expensive to make every game from previous generations to work on current hardware, which was why with Xbox it was a game by game basis.
That's not going to happen regardless lmao. There's no universe where the PS5 will play PS3 discs. What they mean by "natively" is they can sell it to you again even though you already own it.

Being reliant on these servers to play old games isnt good, let us experience whats on the disc/cartridge and not their edited version which alters the original game.
sounds like what you really want is something like GOG.
console manufacturers want more control and things to be more reliant on servers not less.

Well when you price the VR headset above the actual price for the system it runs on, of course it's not going to sell well.
@@ThoraxtheDarkk you really hate casuals huh? You get high huffing your own farts too?

What people don't understand, and Fromsoft hasn't explained, about Erdtree, it basically dumps the regular level progression system and replaces it with Scadutree fragments.
Whatever level someone had fighting Mohg to access the DLC is effectively SL1 and you have to "level up" by collecting fragments.
It's a great expansion and I wouldn't even go by reviews.
Indeed, though the game does explicitly state to use the new power up items
@@thatoneguy1821 no, most people just want instant gratification and easy wins. Quite an odd mistake for Pyoro to make here... Their wording (at least from what we see in Jason's article) seems pretty intentionally vague. This suggests they were already being cautious but still somehow let critical details slip by. All I can say is oof.
Jason Schreier is such a bad person. I really don’t like that guy.

If you remember with PS3, there was a select few PS2 games that were downloadable from PSN.
Quite a few. Ps1 games also.

GT7, Saints and Sinners, Synth Riders, Horizon, RE4, RE7, and RE8, Star Wars, etc. The issue is that SONY doesn't push it. There is no reason that all FPS don't have a VR component. You can't force game makers to include vr.

Given how Sony straight up remove their big chunk of AA studios, you really feel the gapping hole in their library compare to prior generations.
not to mention AA and B games don't need to sell billion quadrillion copies to make a profit
Did he just lowkey call 24 percent of poll respondants liars? Lol. If 76 percent are "being honest" that doesn't leave much interpretation needed for the rest...

Regarding Elden Ring, if there's one thing I've learned from mainstream discourse about performance issues, it's a hardware problem.
If there's a second thing I've learned from Switch discourse, it's an optimization problem.
Cmon sony, all PSVR2 needed was PSVR backwards compatibility. Leaving so much money on the table for no good reason.

Jason should have asked consent.
honestly you should just assume everything said to a journalist is on the record.
the entire point of their job is to report on stuff
Assuming you're off the record without explictlh asking "is this off the record" is asking for trouble. Better still, say nothing and it can't be used against you.
Didn't he admit to his source on Twitter before? So the ship long sailed. Really, someone going "Yes." when asked if their source is Nintendo's backend is quite crazy. Why would you admit that?!
I heard leakers got paid so I don't think it's a useless job at all, sure it's risky but as long as you get your payment it's worth it.

The portal was a success? People bought that thing even though it requires constant internet access basically limiting you to at home use entirely defeating the point of the device.
When did the portal become a success 😂
PSVR2 is failing because there's only 4 or 5 big games and that isn't enough to justify spending more then the price of the PS5 so Sony cutting game support dooms it

Because it expired.
Well, it's not like the old days of wii and early ps3 where backwards compatibility was built-in ahead of time cause now it's too expensive to make every game from previous generations to work on current hardware, which was why with Xbox it was a game by game basis.
I guess companies don't want you to have an installable universal emulator in the console and only provide for each specific games instead.
That's not going to happen regardless lmao. There's no universe where the PS5 will play PS3 discs. What they mean by "natively" is they can sell it to you again even though you already own it.
