That's funny, because to me they sound way behind the times, like a remnant of Black Sabbath and even some 80's metal. But super awesome nonetheless and definitely their own unique sound.
@@phillipvansant6368 yea a cool blend of styles from them. Some grunge, punk / hardcore, metal, and hard rock. Definitely one of my favorite bands. Cool and quirky riffs.
@@Burnt_Gerbil oh wow was that because they were too intricate to play simultaneously? Or because they heard it back and thought "damn we need to add more cymbals"
Honestly a near flawless album in terms of musicianship. Everything is absolutely on point. From the guitar and bass riffs, to Dave Grohl's drums, to the vocals. Everything just slays.
I watch Marty's channel....He teaches things nice and slow- Songs nobody knows! As my vocab increases....I worry bout what I owe- My debt to Marty's show!!!! Thank you sir!!!
Great lesson Marty! Could you please consider doing some Pixies or the Smiths as there are practically no lessons for them on yt and you’re by far the best teacher! Perhaps some the cure... we need more 80s!
Getting back into guitar after a 20 year break. I worked out how to play this in standard tuning at university... I thought! Cheers for another great video.
Yes! I have been looking for a song like this for my project. With my current skills will probably take me a month of playing before I can master this one. Awesome! Thankyou more making me the guitar player I am today.
Marty I'd like to say thank you for all of the free lessons that you have put on here, if it weren't for you I highly doubt I'd still be playing as much guitar as I do and I wouldn't know nearly as much guitar tricks as I do if it wasn't for your videos. And I dont know if you will even see this comment, but if you do, I have a few questions. 1) how old were you when you first started playing and what was your first guitar? 2) could you please make a video for the song, Life in the Fast lane, by the Eagles? Also maybe make a video explaining octaves? I have an idea for what they are, but I dont fully understand them. Again, if youre reading this, thanks for being a great teacher, and a god at playing guitar!
Such a rocking tune. I've been meaning to learn this for ages but I'm always so lazy when it comes to retuning the guitar to play it. It's about time I bit the bullet 😂
Loved this, even if I’m years away from being able to play it. :) I hope you’ll teach us “I Am the Highway” by Audioslave one of these days. Thank you!
The tip for understanding Josh Homme is that his approach is about removing something. It applies to his chords and leads, keeping this in mind as you learn makes it more fluid to follow.
I bought a boss katana mk2 days before I saw Marty posting all these vids with it, I’ve learned the bulk of my tunes from him (ty btw if you read) and my head is just spinning in purchase justification and pride haha!
Hey Marty! I'm part of the "Covid-19 gotta learn the guitar" gang! You're videos have been wildly helpful I appreciate it so much! Do you think you'd be able to do a video on Better Man by Pearl Jam? Having you explain it would help me a lot more 😂
The way the silent palm mute returns into the fold blows my mind. Its like you've always been told its not what you play, its whats not played. This song is in the key of 1/4rest & palm mute.
I have a suggestion on a new solo: I’d love to know how to play the steel guitar solo from Walk of life:) I know it’s meant to be for a steel guitar but you can play it on the guitar too:)
I don't know if you overlook Arctic Monkeys on purpose or that's just copyright issues, but it would be cool if you do some tutorial, they have good riffs.
Keep rocking brother, I keep improving thanks to your help. I know I already left a comment on another video for a different song but I think The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows by Brand New would make for a great lesson video.
I wanted to apologize I really till now thought you tube ,well. Was dumb but I should have hit subscribe and never did till now but I have learned alott from you so thank you very much.
lol, I was simply looking for a No one knows guitar tutorial. My name is Marty too and I have the same guitar and the same amp (well, Katana 100 v1 but still). Cool coincidence.

QotSA are one of the more insane bands of the 2000s, I honestly think they were ahead of that time. Really awesome lesson as always!
I’m covering every single album of theirs this year if you’re interested in that? I’ve posted about 22 songs so far!
been listening to QOTSA, kyuss, and clutch since I was born 🤘

Dude agreed! Great stuff! You play guitar?
Yeah I’ve been playing for almost a year and I love it
He made it look easy, and it's really not
I can hear Dave Grohl’s drum roll’s in background of my mind as he played that.....
Dave Grohl with short hair lol

I might just get a Marty tattoo one day, he’s taught me so much
If Anyone who has learned to play from him gets famous, they GOT to credit him. The only person who can teach me is Marty.
Get his hat tattooed
🤘MARTY IS THE MAAAAN! He’s got it all!! Style, class, and a great guitar player too!! What a legend

I would really love a tutorial on “the longest wave” you are truly the best teacher

Yeah Marty! Please do the solo, it's absolutely amazing. Ty for the lesson
Have you done 3's and 7's? If not, could you? I'd love to learn that song and you're the most concise teacher I've seen on UA-cam.

There are only two things certain in life: death, and if there's a song I want to learn on guitar Marty has a video for it
Can I be honest? A lot of times I just pull the video up to hear Marty jam the riff and stop it there and go about my day.........
Hey Marty, thanks for the No One Knows guitar lesson. Greatly appreciated!! One of my favorite songs.
The tone of that boss katana is super impressive
I love this lesson🤘🏼 if you find the time please do the solo 🙏🏼
Bro you have the best tutorials in the multiverse!
