I love to see our people in a good light. Unlike the negative stereotypes that seems to out shine the overall “African American” people in America. We need more people like you with a UA-cam channel. #love and respect brother
Thank you, David. Appreciate that.
Hey Matt...👋🏽 How was your eats at
Rodney Scott's?😅 wasn't
satisfactory...Just saying 😮😊
You did however like the Ribs
Greens & Cornbread.
Also the Ribs/meat is not
cooked the same as it is at
home...So the TUG you got is
from the PIT GRILLING.
Which is how the meat is
Cooked/Finished...
Blessings & Enjoy ♥️
Have FUN Bruh...😅😊😎
@@jeanettewaithe2053 yes it was satisfying, and yes I see I have to cook some ribs on the pit for yawl. Lol. Tender! I enjoyed my meals though.
Matt my goodness. ......that was so delicious 😋 I truly enjoy eating with you ❤ looking forward to the next meal ❤❤❤❤
I’m LOVING your travel eats vlogs!!!! And the incorporation of history and culture. You should do this more often, AND take it internationally!!!! Be the Black Mark Weins!!! 💯
Thanks Angel.
Good morning Matt food does look very delicious 😋. Ribs are my favorite as well but I’m like you my meat 🥩 has to be tender.
Yes, they were tasty, but I wanted it to be more Tender.

lmao There's a distinct difference between Black people 'tender' and white people 'tender.' Big ups, Matt! Continuous success, growth, & reign!!
But wait, go to 9:06.
Hi Matt! The dinner looks so, so delicious to eat! Making me hungry! Thanks for sharing! Great video!
Thank you Bernice.
@@MattDV You're very welcome!
Thank you very much!
Hello, if you’re still here try Lewis BBQ, Bertha’s Soul Food or Hannibal‘s Soul Food. The last two should give you an authentic Charleston Soul Food experience.
Hi Tonia, I have departed. Until the next time.
I always wanted to try their food ever since I seen this place on Food Network
It's worth a check out.
I have yet to try Rodney Scott's. I passed by his spot in Atlanta and didn't stop by because I was coming from a bbq festival and didn't feel like eating any more bbq. The Rodney Scott's sauce is best use for mopping during the cook. The thing I wanna try is the whole hog.
Hey Mike, that makes sense with the sauce. I also loved the Kathy's sauce he had on the table. Thanks for staying tuned.
Food looks delicious!! Love the hat, Matt😊
Hey Sassy Lady. Thank you.
Good eats southern style cuisine never disappoints, keep the food blogs coming 👍🏽 😋
Hi Misha, yes, I love Southern cooking.
Hi Matt!
I feel like a psychic with that food. I knew the small rib portion wouldn't be tender (ding), I knew you'd give it a 7 (half a ding - you gave it a 7.5), I knew the thicker rib would be just about right (ding) - I gave it a 9 with the sauce, but you gave it an 8; I gave the mac n cheese a 6 (ding), and the collards looked delicious, I saw that the cornbread looked moist and would be delicious (ding). And I give the flies a 10 because they're doing their natural fly thing regardless of your video review. LOL!
Peace
Lol, hey J. Elaine.
Futhermore Caorlina sauces are vinegar based and watery as compared to your Memphis type sauces
Thanks again. I like the thicker KATHY sauce. It was delicious.
That looks really good Matt!!keep them good videos coming.we love ❤️ watching you!FROM TEXAS
Thank you Monalisa.
@ Matt DV hello family, . The food look okay good experience checking food spots out . Someone said do Jersey pe know about BBQ yes we do many of our people, are from the south 😅 . Thanks for the content safe travels many blessings.
If the best part of the BBQ meal is the cornbread we might need to try out another joint. Poor Mac Cheese had to stay behind. Stay safe. 1X
Hello my friend. Yessir!
Smoked ribs are supposed to have a little pull to it, if ribs are tender that mean that most likely they were boiled first
HI Rickie, thank you.
Sender cut ribs are the best!!!!
THanks Fat628.
Everyone’s a food critic
Thanks Bedstuy.
Next time try Berthas Kitchen; Hannibal’s also and Dave’s fried chicken:

Hello and good 👍👍 day to you Matt Dv ❤
Hey Benji.
Professional bbq says your ribs shouldn't fall off the bone
Hi Kenta, thank you.
Ribs don't suppose to fall off the bone they suppose to have a tug My Guy !!!
Yes these had a tug. But very tasty .
You are eating the ribs ,like it is a ten ok🙏🏽☮️🤣
LOL, they were tasty.
Good Matt DV.
Mike B!
I would love to see you come to Atlanta later this year for a bbq and beer festival that I know you will enjoy. When they make the announcement, I'll let you know.
Yes keep me informed. THANK YOU.
came for the cornbread. Good review!
Thank you.
Happy Wednesday Brotha! I agree, Ribs don't have to be mushy but those looked a bit chewy. I could see they had good flavor. That Mac & Cheese...Naw😒 Greens yum. I think His specialty is the pulled pork tho.
Thank you, and I was eyeing the pulled pork. I shall return.
Good afternoon. Happy❤ Wednesday
Hi Jenn, Happy Wednesday.
ribs supposed to be like that. they had the perfect pull when you bit into them. fall off the bone means they are overcooked.
Thanks for you comment, Donald.
Looks good
Hey Corrissa, thanks for the comment.
I just read every comment, all 90 of them and I learned some things about ribs!
I learned a lot too my friend.
GM MATT 🙂🙂🙂
Hey Charlotte.
those are competiton ribs they are suppose to have a slight pull
Thank you, Kenneth.
I mmmm! I prefer babies with long bones! Those looked good though! Nice little place! I like the different sauces! But I feel you MDV!! More twerking! 😂👍
LOL, thanks Chip.
💯✅
Thank you.
Much success 🙌 God bless 🙏
Thanks Brother Steven.
They want you to taste the meat
Thank you.
If the ribs were more tender, then you would say that they are too tender 😮
Matt you can remove the wrist band from the cook out now 😂
You won the prize!!! LOL, THANK YOU.
good morning 💕
Good morning Ayanna.
Even before he gave the ribs a rating I said 7,they looked way too done and dry
Especially for down south bbq you'd think they'd be juicier
Interesting responses here in the comments. Some are saying they are perfect that way. Thanks for the comment my friend.
Was Rodney in there?
Hello, my friend. No, he was not.
Good morning to you Matt
Hey Brother Blane. Good morning.
Macaroni looked dry. We want it to be steamy and creamy. Ribs might be too lean.
Best collards I ever had were from my garden in Long Valley, picked in November and cooked with SALT PORK from South Carolina.
Facts, me too. The best Collards I had, I grew myself, and my mom cooked them with a smoked ham hock. And yes, they, too were picked during frost season.
Stop by Atlanta before you head home. We are renowned for good food, service fees, and bad service. You'll talk about us when you leave but the food is good.
Hi Angel. Atlanta will be in our sights later in the summer.
What's up matt welcome to carolina l see you at Rodney's bbq. If you think thats good you have to come to stuckey south carolina to his parents bbq restaurant. It's called Rosey bbq you will love it.
WHAT!?! His parents has a place too?
@MattDV yes his parents has a place too. His dad passed about 2 years ago and his mom passed a couple month ago. But the BBQ Spot is still open
There not supposed to be falling of the bone…that’s a sign of the ribs being over cooked. But too each his
Own.
The macaroni looks dry and hard !!!
Yea right. It needed a little help.
I agree the ribs should be a little more tender. They shouldn't slide off the bone, but the bone should be clean when you're eating it. The vinegar sauce is for pulled pork. The acid cuts the fattiness. The original location in Hemingway is unmatched. The quality fell off when he started opening the new locations. When you walked in and saw a room full of non melanated customers you should have walked out, because we don't play about our food. Look for the hood food spots with a line outside the door and been opened for decades.
I will have to check out the Hemingway spot on my next trip to the area. Thanks
U from Jersey, do y'all even about gd BBQ, those ribs are suppose to be like that...
Yes, the ribs are good. I just like my easy of the bone.
Yes pe, from Jersey know about ribs many of "our folks come from the south.
Lay off the sweet tea bruh
Thanks Pucci
I dont like the meat fallen off the bone its overcooked at that point. It needs atleast a little pull to it.
Those ribs look very dry. I think they should’ve done a better job on them tough ribs my opinion.
