- The village Huaxi located in a Chinese province is famous today because it is home to only millionaires. People whose net worth is less than $400,000 are considered poor in Huaxi! The village is currently home to 60,000 people. They all live in luxurious homes, drive luxury cars, and keep massive amounts of money in their bank accounts. If someone ever decides to move out of the village, they lose a ton. It's true no one's in a rush to leave Huaxi since every resident has the right to free healthcare, education, and housing as well as life insurance and even subsidies for produce. At the end of each year, the administration divides 20% of the village's total income equally among all the residents including underage children. This is possible because all the villages are shareholders in the "Huaxi village" corporation. They receive 20% of the income of all the companies in the village. The rest of the profits go towards future social and economic growth. Locals call their village the "Number One Village Under The Sky". There's nothing similar elsewhere in the world.

This place looks amazing but it's super confusing. In my home town we got a little neighborhood like this kinda. It's full of upper middle class and lower upper class ppl that all live in very very similar houses. They all use just about the same landscape ppl and they have a little store inside the community. They shop at that store for everything they can and whatever they can't they go buy from company's that the others have stocks in. It's a huge keeping up with the Jones's kinda thing but they sorta help each other do so at the same time.

It sounds great until you look a little deeper. Huaxi Village corporation relies on the labor of more than 20,000 workers from outside the village who are not considered residents and do not enjoy any of the wealth and benefits that the people in this video do . The villagers do little work themselves.
It's true, but the villagers in this village first started to set up factories and make new investments in profits, becoming the first to get rich. These villagers jointly hold shares and wealth in the enterprise and hire outsiders. To some extent, these villagers have become employers. You can't expect employers to distribute their wealth directly to employees for no reason, which is impossible anywhere.
That argument is the main reason why Mao Zedong killed like 80 million people.

The people in the village were able to take out 0.5% of their investments in the village and if you leave the village you had to leave everything behind. No one in the village really owned anything besides the mayors family and it seems like the whole village company is bankrupt now.

How do you justify calling this a village?
Because geographically, it is ? This is not that much different to the UK too. Whereby each area and region is defined legally. So this must've been an actual village that had farm, and then they pooled together their resources. Meaning, they farmed all areas of this village, kept some food to themselves, and then sold the excess. With the money, when time is right, say a set percentage, they keep using that money to grow and build other things? Then again, sell those items made from those businesses again. They basically kept changing things to sell..... and this is how they got the money. And then they listed the company on the exchange, and became shareholders. There are similar methods used in the UK too for some "city corporation".... It will mean though that, other citizens elsewhere are basically their serfs in a way. Their consumers. They basically changed and created primary sector work. Then secondary factory investments, and not service industry investments etc etc etc.... Because the guy who started this, and made the villagers followed his lead... He basically also has a job and an envy title.

They are in massive debt, the city owned all of the houses and most of the villagers money. When they went to remove funds they were limited to 0.5% of their shares rather than the 30% promised. If they tried to leave the village then they had to leave everything behind. Also, most of the profits were gained via insider trading.
You can try finding socialist societies worldwide for some type of proof but sooner or later you will figure out that every single one of them eventually failed or will fail in the near future.

It's nothing more than a big facade. The people in the village aren't millionaires because they don't own a single thing, even though they have to work 7 days a week, with only 2 days vacation per year! If they leave, they lose all their money, and keep none of the equity of their home. This village has also recently filed for Bankruptcy as it owes hundreds of billions in debt. The dividend they were paying to villagers also dropped from 30% to 0.5%, and there was a huge bank-run by the villagers. If this was as successful as they say, this model would have been replicated everywhere in China.

It’s a bit different in China where wealth people are rather concerned more about their safety and privacy, so they will try stay at low profiles , catch as less public attention as possible.
