    The last 3o years i worked with Wiha-Screwdrivers without any problems. My favorite one is the PH 2 300 for repairing computers. Awesome product!
    Cheerio from Germany.

    You do make the most informative videos. When you pick up a wiha screwdriver you feel the quality and there's no buyer's remorse. Excellent video

    I have a full set of Wiha red and black standard screwdrivers.
    In my opinion they have the best handles, just great to use.

    Thank you for including weights of those tools! I often carry 1-3 with me on long bike rides (to help other cyclists and friends in the field), and every gramm makes a difference.

    Another interesting video. Keep it up. I have the wooden set and, frankly, in the couple of years that I have it, they are the screwdrivers I use for everything (normal repairs around the house and basic woodworking).

    Another consideration in handles with through shafts, when working around electricity be aware that that end cap can be live mains voltage when the tip is in contact with power.

      Yeah, none of these covered any of the VDE/Insulated tools, but they have a similar handle style to the typical Wiha shape.

    Great Video. Wiha has the micro finish on sale thru today. Going to order some now. Thanks a lot!

    Nice round-up, thanks! Definitely looking forward to a wooden-handled comparison, the Wiha are typically about half the price of the Felo here in the UK, but there aren't many reviews out there.
    Don't forget there's the Wiha SoftFinish ESD as well - black and yellow handles. I guess they're the same basic material as the red SoftFinish, but they look cool if you like that kind of thing, and they're obviously ESD rated.

    I know this video is 5 years old, but id like to add that the microfinish is supposedly chemical resistant. I work with a bunch of nasty stuff and havent noticed any more wear or weird stuff happening to my regular soft finish, but it is something to note. Id hate to lose a driver to some chemicals :(

    To me Würth screwdrivers have best handles I tried so far. They look similar to Wiha 3K series but almost whole handle is covered with that Softfinish rubbery material .

    I’ve been buying a lot of the Wera Tools lately and really liking them. I think it would be interesting to see you do a comparison between the German made tools and USA made tool like Snap-on, S-k, MAC and so on.

    I"m sure in the UK the 3K are the previous style available , currently retailers have the (mainly) soft-finish which i now use @ work & a wiha multi-bit driver @ home :]

    Although the catalogue doesn't say very much about the colour range applications, I presumed that the microfinish is for Mechanics, Fitter & Turners, and Plumbers etc, hence use in wet & oily conditions. I had a look at their ESD (electro-static-discharge) screwdrivers/Torx etc (yellow handled) range in their catalogue and think it might be worthwhile purchasing a set for myself, just like their ESD tweezers for electronics or for working car electric/audio etc. Although, I just don't know if they are going to be expensive regarding their said application. However, It is a hard decision for most who can't afford very much too, yet I think once the person has purchased a set for excellent screwdrivers, or even 1 or 2, they will always try very hard to save to get something else good instead of the usual cheap shit that's thrust onto people out there. I bought a 6-piece Wera Kraftform Micro Screwdriver set that come with a stand very early last year, I haven't looked back since. Those shitty stanley, $2 shop and el-cheap precision screwdriver sets etc are a thing of the past. Cheers for the heads up here bud :-)

    I have a set of 1000v soft finish drivers, nice comfortable handles. This may be considered as heresy on this channel, but the most comfortable drivers for all day long usage in my opinion would be Bahco ergo-not German but excellent drivers.

    • @GermanToolReviews
      @GermanToolReviews  6 років тому +5

      No such thing as heresy on this channel, if it is a good quality tool that you use then it doesn't really matter where it came from. I just focus on reviewing German-brand tools but there are of course many quality tool brands that aren't from Germany.

      Great to hear, love the channel as I am a bit of a Knipex fanboy anyway :) First tool box I got as an electrical apprentice 20+ years ago included an Elliot Lucas Pliers, Knipex snipe nose and a Bahco adjustable wrench-the wrench I still have knocking about somewhere-excellent tools.

    I picked up a set of wiha screwdrivers for $19.99 at my local Lowes. They have a display that’s been there since Christmas and no one is buying them. Lol people have no idea what they are and would rather buy craftsman I guess.

    • @GermanToolReviews

      Don't have any specific plans but I might do one with a more focused subset, such as wood handled or all plastic handles. Screwdrivers are difficult to compare because they are very subjective and everyone ends up having their own preference.

    Great video again. I prefer Wera screwdrivers over Wiha mainly because of the better anti roll feature and my Wiha logo nearly came off from a screwdriver that was barely used. I know I'm picky but isn't the extra heavy duty 61% heavier than the standard one?

    • @GermanToolReviews
      @GermanToolReviews  6 років тому +1

      I could be wrong on the percentage. There are two equations to use when comparing two numbers - percent change between two numbers and percent difference between two numbers. I could have used the wrong one.

    Still trying to decide if I wanna replace my old Craftsman Pro screwdrivers on the pegboard above my garage workbench with the Wiha Extra Heavy Duty or Klein --- definitely leaning towards those Microfinish - they just look tougher, and are less than $100 for the set on KC Tools right now --> www.kctoolco.com/wiha-53398-8-piece-microfinish-extra-heavy-duty-slotted-phillips-screwdriver-set/?rfsn=347423.c8237
    There's also THIS set: www.kctoolco.com/kyles-ultimate-screwdriver-set/
    Klein set runs $50 or $60 depending on if you want the stubby drivers: a.co/eAerR4S or a.co/0je1aem

      As an industrial electrician, I've used Klein for years. However, a few years a go I purchased some Wera screwdrivers and they blow the Kleins out of the water. That was a hard pill for me to swallow.

    So I ordered a single microfinish screwdriver from KC tools and it came with a little warning card saying that this product can expose me to Chrome6, DEHP, and Phthalates. Should I be scared? Lol

      Sounds like a standard Prop65 warning. I don't remember if I saw the same card. I think these days some companies put a prop 65 warning on every product to avoid getting sued even if they don't contain anything bad. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Proposition_65_(1986)

    Don't forget the VDE-versions (insulated up to 1000V) for electricians. No german electrician is using uninsulated screwdrivers or pliers if he's working on a circuit. Even if it's dead, some idiot could always be nearby switching the circuit back on. That's the reason why the insulated tools here are quite cheap, every electrician is using them. Wera VDE 7-Pcs screwdriverset is round about 24€ (28 US$) on the german Amazon-site. Wiha VDE with soft finish slotted and Phillips (several sizes) 6 Pcs is 33€ (39 US$). In the US the insulated tools are much more expensive, and afaik most electricians use uninsulated screwdrivers (mostly made by Klein Tools). BTW Klein is making insulated tools too which are certified by the german VDE. But they're quite expensive: 2 Pcs screwdriverset (1/4" slotted and No. 2 Phillips) is 37 US$ (31€). They're advertising with individual testing, that's interesting: The VDE-certification requires the individual test, so it's nothing special. Every manufacturer with the VDE certification must perform it.

    • @guitarzarfun
      @guitarzarfun 6 років тому +2

      I have both and use both...I think WIHA tips are harder and wear better. I'd get WIHA. PB Swiss(If you can swing it, do it. Soo nice), Vessel(these are killer screwdrivers, their phillips lock onto a fastener like mad, no cam out), and WIHA (especially their precision drivers) are my 3 favorite non-USA drivers. I have a FELO slotted driver that I found at work which wears very well, but I'm not wild about the handle. Same with Witte, i had one at one time when I worked in the beverage industry....never cared for the tri lobe handle but it did wear well.
