DokeV is a creature-collecting, open-world action-adventure game where players collect whimsical creatures called Dokebi. These legendary creatures from Korean mythology and folklore live harmoniously together with humans and help encourage dreams from which they gain strength. They represent all worldly passions and dreams of humans and can provide courage and strength to humans they actively support. DokeV encourages an open play style and exploration. It looks really-really good, but I have never even heard of this studio before, and based off Wikipedia they only have 2 completed games, which admittedly does look pretty good, but they actually have 2 other pending games, so idk how they are making this. It seems too ambitious. In the end, I'm kinda getting Cyberpunk vibes from this, in which it's probably getting downgraded like hell when it actually released, be a really laggy buggy mess, or both. In any case, I am 100% sure my PC will NOT be able to run this, unless I managed to get a new PC by the time it released, it which maybe if it actually looks like this.

I am a 32 year old man and....I just wanna grab my backpack and go on a freaking adventure after watching this! This trailer perfectly encapsulates a childlike wonder I didn't even know I still possessed. If the game shapes up to be anywhere near as fun or good as this trailer lets on, well then I think I've found my next obsession :D

It is expected to be released about 1 to 1.5 years after the release of Pearl Abyss's new game, Crimson Desert, in 2025. However, Pearl Abyss is known for delaying their promises every time.

The animations and the visuals are insane! Theres no way these guys can pull this off. It looks too magical

These guys are actually preatty good with there games. BDO was one of the best looking mooms for a view years with good animations und stunning effects. Without a doubt they will pull of the game like it is in the trailer.
If it is as optimized as something like Gears of War 5 or Ff7 Remake they can. Most developers have shifty optimization.

The map is based on a coastal town in South Korea. Looks just like real life, the style and feel.
Might be the nuttiest game trailer I've ever seen. Graphics and animations are off the chain. I was already interested in this for the creature-collecting aspect, but the world and mobility look fun as hell. Performance is a worry and it's hard to tell how combat works or what the goal is, but this trailer is...wow.

@@absolutelypro4612 There's a ton of them, although a lot of them are buried by visual effects and combat animations.
Easy to tell they put everything up on insane settings for the trailer, for an unoptimized game in the alpha-state. BDO was optimized to run on almost any lowend machine, and most likely so will this. They might even make it crossplatform with phones like they did with BDO, although that will of course not look pretty.

Combat reminds of Monster Hunter! The bit at the end seems to show a few of the ways to capture these monsters. Depending on your partner, you have a different capture weapon? Bow and arrow, a soccer ball, and my personal fave - a Ghostbusters style proton pack, haha (complete with ghost trap!). Of course, I could be completely wrong but there's no denying this game has got my attention 😀

I absolutely love this. I hope we get less realism in more games in the future. Games need to go back to the roots of gaming instead of trying to emulate real life. This looks so good I hope it doesn’t disappoint.

@@brotatochap_7563 GameFreak could delay Legends a few years and they still wouldn't have a hope in hell of matching this. That studio just seems ill-equipped to make modern-feeling Pokemon games that people expect.
As a Pokémon fan, I actually don't want this. This looks far too unfocused (though that could be due to a lack of explanation on what this game is supposed to be about), and I'm not seeing the exploration of wild areas that Pokémon would be expected to have. Still feel like we don't know anything about this game though, so they could show stuff in the future that looks more like a Pokémon game or, preferably, they make a game styled after their own vision.

Everything else feels nothing like Pokemon. I'm a big Pokemon fan myself, but I have to admit that the latest games are SO focused that there's basically nothing in them.
@@RoaringTide I have no stakes in this, so whether or not it is similar to Pokémon is irrelevant to me, but if your game is purposefully unfocused, that often leads to shallow game design. There's a good reason for why no successful game offers players everything. Instead, they all stick to one genre. As of right now, it feels like Dokev really needs to figure out how to present itself to players, because, just showing people monsters, fighting, and running around, won't grab the attention of those who look past the good visuals.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s PS5/XBOXSX only game. The 4 and One are strong, but I definitely feel like they wouldn’t be able to handle this, at least on this level.
This game is being made by Pearl Abyss, so expect a really unoptimized game no matter if youre playing on PC or a next gen console.
