14:10 As an American, I would describe the ACOTAR books as “smutty” or “spicy”. I think that you could use both interchangeably, or say that they have a lot of spice and smut. I would use “spicy” to describe a wider variety of situations that are sexy, exciting, or full of tension; but “smutty” is really only used for sexual and/or dirty things. I hope this helps with your language barrier. Also, your English is phenomenal! ❤

ohhh I'm so happy you liked Icebreaker. I read it myself in the beginning of the year and I have come to realize it is one of those books people either love or hate. Personally I adored it!!!! It helped me get out of a reading slump and for that I am forever grateful. If you're looking for more books with a healthier couple dynamic I would recommend The Summer Girl by Elle Kennedy. It is part in a series of stand-alones, so maybe that's not something you would want to jump right into but as someone who read all of the books in order I can confidently say that it is the best one and that context from the previous books isn't necessarily needed. It was just so refreshing to read a romance book without pointless arguing, toxicity and jealousy.

If you like Icebreaker, you might like a film called The Cutting Edge which has a very similar plot (skater teams up with a ice hockey player to go for gold at the Olympics, they hate each other but eventually fall in love).
Have you read throne of glass? it is soooo good and very different from ACOTAR despite being written by the same author!

I finished ACOTAR a few days ago and I felt even that book could’ve been shorter but now I’m halfway thru ACOMAF (using audio cause I can’t sit down and read those books with all the world building) and I’m enjoying it but also I’m like why are these so long?? Like a lot is happening but there’s several places where I feel like it couldve stopped and then picked up in the next book 😩 I can’t wait to finish the series so I can also understand the memes on booktok tho 😂😂

I was also like wtf when I got to the incest in TSH 😑, but did love it otherwise and it’s a book that’s stayed with me. If you haven’t read it yet If We Were Villains is my fav Dark Academia I’ve read so far so I really recommend! 🖤

I agree with you on Maas. I find all of her books that I've read have very toxic uncommunicative romance and it's just infuriating. I can't read anything by her anymore.
ACOTAR books are a wild ride but I think it has to be all or nothing. Like all 5 books have to be read to finally get it. It’s not the BEST book series, but it’s definitely a whole series. Also, book 4 sucks. Book 5 is very spicy. 😂

I recently read Punk 57 also and thought it was awfulllllll. I thought it was poorly written and Mischa was an awful character. I really don’t understand how anyone likes it!
