The inverted gull wing on the Corsair was for aerodynamics...not clearance for the prop as stated in the script in the video. The Hellcat had the same diameter prop 13' 1" and had standard length main gear struts. The AD series had a bigger prop still and had standard length gear.

I have over six thousand hours but never got to fly one of those wonderful airplanes.
I heard that you can hear the engine better by trying to get your head as close as possible to the spinning prop.
