Kurt, that was impressive when the travertine flashed in the daylight with the beast. Wow! And the boulder lighting up looked liked runes lighting up magically in a fantasy novel 😅! I love fluorite under UV as its so aptly named, with calcite and geodes with their weird and unexpected glows as 1B and 1C. Great video.
Very informative thank you 🙏 I live outside the US so won’t enter the giveaway but I love anything that glows in the dark 😂when I was a kid we used to visit the beach at night and watch the phosphorus in the breakers as they crashed the shore , was just magical under the stars 🌟
Cool vid 😎 Personally, i think it is a bit unfair to judge non-filtered against a filtered UV flashlight, if Darkbeam had a filter i would prefer it over UV Beast, this reason is because of the even spread of light from the Darkbeam as opposed to the spotlight effect of the UV Beast, i find the 'spotlight' flashlights tend to bleach out the fluorescence somewhat in the spotlight at close range although they are better for long range, whereas the wide even spread does not bleach at close range, so stick a filter on the Darkbeam and i think we have a winner. I'm sure UV Beast has a better 'throw' of light for distance, however i search for minerals alot with UV and i have tried spotlight UV in the field but i didn't get on so well with it, but with the wide even spread flashlights i tend to see more glowing due the wide even coverage on the ground, i shine the flashlight down infront of me while searching as it is much more clear and powerful infront of me, i sometime shine my flashight at a distance to see if anything super bright 'pops' or reacts which draws me to that mineral, but i tend to find more at short range, it seems more productive to me, so i tend avoid spotlight UV for mineral hunting in the field for that reason. Just my opinion 👍 Ps, i quite like the Ammolite due to the intricate details of the Ammonites sutures, it has a deep story to tell from ancient times and it's a super cool pattern 💎(but sadly i am in the UK so no worries about the giveaway) 👍 Take care bro and merry christmas ✌
@@scottks5 so if you are planning on prospecting at night in the YellowCats flats I’d recommend buying the uvBeast v3 365nm regular size black light $79.99. The light beam goes out to about 20’ and packs a lot of power using (2) 18650 batteries while also comes with a extension to add a 3rd 18650 battery to it for extended usage. amzn.to/41E8Eup
Hi friend. Have a year full of prosperity
Anything lighting up is awesome! Calcite and fluorite are my favorites here.
Love seeing the rocks light up especially flourite and calcite . Thank you for sharing your finds and knowledge:)
There are some flashlights more powerful and others not so much but in the end they all look great
Kurt, Nice easy video on the differences. I bought a UV Beast about 12mths ago, chalk & cheese between my other UV torches and The UV Beast. 👍

I like the yellow cat agates and petrified wood. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your family.

Pet wood for sure😍❤️❤️
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!!
I like all rocks that fluoresce. But as far as longwave (365) goes, I like the fluorites!
The beast is the best I’ve owned for sure. I wish they had shortwave!
@@775Rockhounding agreed. I was told by seb it’s in the works

I'm still waiting for shortwave....but definitely hackmanites as always, quality flourites, yooperlites of course...even rubies
@@technoraptor7778 I’m waiting for them to come out with a shortwave as well. I’ll ask about it in my next email. Those are always cool 😎
My favorite are thunder eggs.
I think yoperlight, flourite, and the calcidney.
Which is your favorite light for prospecting at night, such as the Yellow Cat flats? My fav mineral for fluorescing is Willemite.
