Just got this for my son entering Ohio State University honors Business College. The university has Microsoft full Office licenses for students and huge discounts for Adobe, etc. I think this miniscule laptop, combined with huge battery life will work great for him over the next 4 years. I held out for the Snapdragon reviews but decided against it due to potential compatability issues with college required programs, such as college wide network printing stations, and whatever light gaming he might engage in.
After watching your review, I bought this laptop and this decision was not wrong at all. Incredible laptop which is perfect for almost everything and that too for just 800 !!
Dang, that $800 price tag is a great deal, but without that deal, you are only saving 200 for not having the upgraded resolution and and only 60Hz refresh rate. I think the extra 200 might be worth the cost in that aspect.

Yes, but update all the drivers and firmware. Mine was herky jerky with some games, but after updating I'm smoothly playing DOA6, Street Fighter 5, Soul Caliber 5, Halo Collection, Doom Eternal (Doom used to not work on the 425) , Earth Defense Force 5, SNK Heroines to name a few. I'm a bit surprised how well it plays. Some games work better 1600x900, but a lot play fine at 1080p. Battery life and the speakers also ROCK. Upgrading to a 4TB SSD to put more Steam games on it. I have the VRAM set to 5GB.
Great performance for that price! Asus usually has a great price to performance ratio for sure. I wish we got some better deals in canada though. Same device at bestbuy here is $1600 lol
Hi, do you know of any laptops with HDMI-IN? It is hard to find, because when manufacturers list I/O ports, they do not say it is only an input of this kind. Second, the Lenovo thinkcentre m90a pro has a thunderbolt 3 input functionality, so one can display the laptop on the thinkcentre and use one of the ssd inside. Also GPD Pocket 3 has a similar function, namely the KVM module, here display can be shown on the GPD pocket 3 and you can use the keyboard to control the other device, this is what I am searching for but in a bigger 14 inch size. So, I am trying to find this functionality in a laptop/desktop. Is there a way to get this? Does such hardware exist? (Some people recommend a capture card, but there must exist a simpler solution like GPD pocket 3. I do know that getting a display with KVM is also a solution, but I am in need of second OS which I can use for backup via WIFI) Thanks in advance, kind regards.
How much Ram is used on your unit? My unit uses over 70% of the 16 Gb Ram out of the box. If I install and open any application like Edge browser, the usage is 80% and more. Do you have the same issue?
70% does not sound right.. on my 14x right now its 38% with no webpages, just the browser open. How many tabs you have open? and how many are like youtube videos or sites with lots of ads? if you do, 70% is kinda normal. depends what u got open and running inside

Anyone with this specific model experiencing high CPU temperatures (44-52C)? I don't understand what I should do to lower it down. I checked System Diagnosis and it only tells me to check Fan Profiles. Right now, it is in Standard Mode. Still, the CPU temp is within this range. I have also used a stand to keep the base of the laptop from touching the flat surface of my desk. Hence, it is angled to allow for more ventilation. I keep 8 tabs in my Google Chrome running. BIOS and drivers have already been updated via MyASUS as well.
Looks like comparing this back to the UX3405, even if I buy the stylus $99+32GB LPDDR5X $~100 total about $1000, for extra $300, I get 120hz refresh rate, window 11 pro, higher resolution (lower battery life?) fancy num pad on touch pad, sleeve, RJ45 adaptor, cool design and ponder blue color. Maybe UX3405 isn't that bad of a price, just fancier. Sort of getting a EX vs LX. 😂
Hi, everyone. I just picked this up. It's mostly great so far. But I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to set the backlight keyboard light to automatically turn off after a few seconds of no use? I cannot find that setting.
Did you say premium quality? I have the Zenbook 13 OLED (which at least looks very similar) from a couple of years ago. Before buying it I saw "aluminium", "premium", ""military grade" and the price (1200 back then for i7, 16GB, 512GB SSD) and I thought ""this has to be close to my XPS''s quality". Then this thing arrived and oh my, I have never seen a laptop that creaks and squeaks more! Night and day with the XPS. So I've never been able to "love" the Zenbook (I am writing from it). So has this changed at all with this new model? Because if it hasn't changed drastically, then this cannot be called premium despite the materials. People beware!
Found one with an SD card option, who wants all there stuff stored on a damn cloud with no privacy options. I'm taking my HP back that had not had an SD card slot, and getting this one 749 bucks. So, guess the store I did go to was right the ones that came out in 2024 were made 4-5 years ago. SD cards are a must, so then you cannot lose any pictures, podcasts you had made ext.
I've used this laptop for several months now and it's been very disappointing, Especially at this price point. The Zenbook runs very hot even with minimal use. The CPU does great on benchmarks but my older 11th Gen Intel i7 runs much cooler and seems faster on most tasks. The Intel Core Ultra 7 155H in the Zenbook stutters and lags constantly. The battery life is also disappointing. The reviews I read/saw implied the Zenbook had great battery life but that's not been my experience. It does have a beautiful OLED screen but that's the only positive it has going for it.
I bought one yesterday but the color on it for both browsers Edge and Chrome, the images and videos have reddiilsh tints on people and look very oversaturated. For example you look like a ripe red plum, I've tried to turn off of the graphics acceleration on bith Chrome and Edge but no change. Sorry but it looks cheap. Everything else is fine on this. However the best display, build, keyboard and deal was with the ASUS14X Model:Q420VA 2.8K OLED Touch Laptop. That was terriric !
Why is the battery score only 8 out of 10?
It was supposed to be 10, but I made a typo. Add two more points to the overall score to 90%

Agreed!
Is there any heating problem with this model??
So, for light video editing (4k) it will be okay for when I need it?
Yes, it will be fine.
Can it run autocad or sketchup with the arc graphics?
Would you recommend this one or the 14X for 839 same ram and memory?
14X will have better performance
How much Ram is used on your unit? My unit uses over 70% of the 16 Gb Ram out of the box. If I install and open any application like Edge browser, the usage is 80% and more. Do you have the same issue?
70% does not sound right.. on my 14x right now its 38% with no webpages, just the browser open. How many tabs you have open? and how many are like youtube videos or sites with lots of ads? if you do, 70% is kinda normal. depends what u got open and running inside
I have nothing open and it runs at 60%, I checked the task manager, no applications running
@@abouelmagdmakramalla875 did you update bios version to latest already? another thing at least that I did was befote using i did cloud recovery at bios with a new nvme to install all the os and asus related software and drivers. I dont know if running a memory test at bios would give any clues with this sort of issue. why dont you record a short video of the task manager and post on youtube? maybe theres a process that is misbehaving? you can also contact asus customer service to get more ideas if you are worried about it
Any plans on reviewing the alienware m16 r2?
It's a good pc for gaming ?
great laptop. great review
I can play emulators ps3 and switch?
Can run steam games too?
Are the usb ports 3.2 gen 2?
Looks like comparing this back to the UX3405, even if I buy the stylus $99+32GB LPDDR5X $~100 total about $1000, for extra $300, I get 120hz refresh rate, window 11 pro, higher resolution (lower battery life?) fancy num pad on touch pad, sleeve, RJ45 adaptor, cool design and ponder blue color. Maybe UX3405 isn't that bad of a price, just fancier. Sort of getting a EX vs LX. 😂
Just from curiosity, when you guys in USA speak of a price, in this case for example 799$, does it have a tax included?
Tax is not included
HDMI port plus both thunder bolts all on the right hand side, is this laptop designed for left handed people (i.e. uses the mouse of the left)?
I think its just a popular design choice idk
any ideas if a 14X version will be released? Prefer the 14.5" screen.
I don’t have any info
Can u make a review on the Lenovo Legion slim 5 Ryzen 7 8845HS 2024?
Really nice litte laptop. Looks great for doing work on the go.
Hi, everyone. I just picked this up. It's mostly great so far. But I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to set the backlight keyboard light to automatically turn off after a few seconds of no use? I cannot find that setting.
Spectre x360 14 or this?
155H have 8 xe cores 2.25ghz or 126eu gpu. raptor lake from 13700H have 6 xe cores 1.5ghz or 96eu
Is there going to be an AMD version for this laptop?
Yes I have it and review soon
@@andrewmarcdavid awesome, thanks
Is this a region exclusive? Im still watching so if you mentioned it in the video, no need to reply!
What difference between this model and zenbook 14 UX3405MA
That one has an 8840HS.
Hows this compared to the hp x360?
Would you pick this over the hp ?
Hey do u think this game can run terraria and Minecraft maybe some Roblox?
The camera was ok, but the mic struggled with the spectrum of your voice. Choppy and low bit rate. Bad DAC or bad drivers?
Found one with an SD card option, who wants all there stuff stored on a damn cloud with no privacy options. I'm taking my HP back that had not had an SD card slot, and getting this one 749 bucks. So, guess the store I did go to was right the ones that came out in 2024 were made 4-5 years ago. SD cards are a must, so then you cannot lose any pictures, podcasts you had made ext.
just bought one, the cheap Mediatek Lan/Blueetoth card broke down and non functional after few days used😡
Inspiron 14 plus 7440 or zenbook 14
Currently $699 at Best Buy, 16 gb I7 variant
Great price.
When is Surface Pro 10 coming (non business) ?

3 months after this video the 16gb / 1tb version is on sale for $799. I got a used excellent one for $650.
Does warming happen often?
@@ucat4818nah I don’t think so to me. I’ve had it for a week now normal tasks and some Netflix I don’t notice any heat worth mentioning
BTW a fingerprint magnet!
Just bought this and the first thing I did was put my hand on the top of the laptop to open it. And you guessed it left a fingerprint…
having wifi issues on mine unfortunately
wtf why so cheap ? cant find same deal in germany, the price over 1,2k euro -_-
14" is way to small. Reflection on screen is pure punishment
Stop complaining about reflection just use it in a dark room
Finally a Zenbook without those fking ugly lines on its exterior chassis
coming up!!!!... justt came for that.
Have windows hello?. Please comment
great deal
