Lyrics:
Everyone wants to be a cowboy
Grab your guns boy
Forty-five by my side,
No the n***er dies.
Zen, zen zen zen zen zen zen
You shot your bullet, but the bullet when ****
Desperado, do work for new boy
I pull out my gun and plug two like Trugoy
Yo this was how the West was won,
Our motto, a true Desperado.
Rappers want to be actors
So they play the Jesse James Character
And get they bones fractured.
You ain't got no guns, you off to the precinct
Inside tuff guys are feminine like Sheena Easton
Woman cry, woman cry, Son still dies
Thrown off the building like the Fall guy
Caved in the grave cause you didn't know how to behave
Playin' cowboy now you sleep with the slaves
The industry missed it with Lauryn Hill and Rah Digga! This female duo should've been G.O.A.T. status from 1995 on!
Every person in this song can be considered slept on. Especially young zee and pace won.
Damn right!
Def Pacewon was the one
Outsiders
Facts that would have been the sickest female dual ever
One of the illest things about the 90's were the distinct voices rappers had. Young Zee's voice was so unique. Now a days every rapper has the same 3 tones.
RDoubt96 word
💯
Yes, an one of those tones is autotune
You trippin. Its soooo many rappers in this era with unique voices.
Aight the fugees were sick, but no need to take the high ground, lotsa fire rappers nowadays
People can say whatever they say about Wyclef..but he put his heart and soul into "The Score"..and for that I will always appreciate him.
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🔥
He's a creative genius. The Prince of hip-hop and this album is his Purple Rain.
@@freedommWhat about Prince Paul . Q Tip ? ...
"The score" stays true to its name! But it's not only Wyclef this thing is about!
One, if not "the best" Hip Hop album of decade or at last "ever"?! I searched this thing almost 20 years to hold it in my hands as a CD. But my sister put it on a superior level by by give it to me as a vinyl!
Never heard an album that perfect and balanced... Fugees in our hearts, never forgotten, always appreciated!
@@stefanwilhelm6046big facts 💯👏
The production on the album was absolutely Phenomenal.
Female RAPPERS spitting true bars that mention NOTHING about sex....A lost art....
I think a lot of positive female rappers were killing when you made this comment. For instance Sampa the Great, Rapsody, Nitty Scott and Chika.
If Rah Digga and Lauryn HIll had made an album!!!! Yikes
😍
They look like sisters

Andrew Chin I was just sayin that man CRIPES!
Andrew Chin man that will be cold
I never get tired of the fugees. I was 7 or 8yrs old when this album came out. Big fugee fan, i miss the 90s
Way back in the day when MCs actually needed bars and originality.
And vocabulary
This track is around 26 years old.... yeah, let that marinate for a moment. TWENTY SIX YEARS, and could still flatten all of the mediocre, mumble rap that we hear nowadays. LBoogie and Rah Digga were fire!
Well said 👍🙂
GOD ....now I feel OLD
True!🙂
YESSS🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I still get goose bumps on my skin
Lauryn Hill and Rah Digga are the best female rap duo of all time in my opinion. They are living proof that the best female rappers are from the east coast
And Jersey at that!
Two members of De La Soul sitting in front of the fugees in the movie theater
r.i.p. trugoy...just thought of him when he said...''i'll pull out my gun and plug 2 like trugoy''😁...
This shit still go hard. 1996 was the best man. I need to go back in time. No Lie
Lauryn Hills Flow, execution, demeanor and pure all out lyricism surpasses ALL female rappers and even some male rappers by far far far!
Zai Self Defense. The 96 Lauryn hill vs the 96 lil Kim?
Seyi Ajayi why didn't Kool moe Dee have lil Kim in his top 10?
Just made the same comment on a fu gee la video ....her verse on this is perfect rap
Zai Self Defense. Facts
I’d say most (not some) male rappers.
J.Forte Wrecked This Track Off His Flow N Delivery Alone!!!!💪🏾(He Literally Came Outta Nowhere Wit It Portraying Himself As A Bartender🍺😃)Much Props 2 Digga,Digga,L.Boogie,Young Zee Pacewon,Pras,N Clef 4 Killin It In Their Own Lyrical Way🎤🎵🎶
Jean Forte is the Scottie Pippen of rap.
IDK what kinda weed John forte smoked when he wrote his verse but sheesh pure fuckin magic!!!
Feel me?!
Facts! His album wasn’t bad though.. he had a couple bangers on there.. like Flash the message
i be asking myself bro....
John forte came in lyrically dumping hot shells and left no Witnesses
Bodies everywhere after that verse lol

He Blacked out!!!🕵️♂️

OMG Lauryn Hill and Rah Digga are on the same track. Love it
This is Rah Digga's first appearance.
rb hudson they should've did a album together. thelma and Louise
Travis Alston forreal
Jersey easily mite have 3 of the dopest Female Emcees of all Time (L Boogie, Rah Digga, and Queen Latifah)
John Forte ATE that! Came through with the final verse and closed it out PROPER!
Lauryn Hill, Rah Digga and John Forte Spazzed on this track 🔥🔥🔥🔥
💯
Lauryn & digga SNAPPED
The Fugees has so much creativity in their videos. Thats art
I am African woman from nineties.. no words can explain how doppelgänger's this song and this girl is... black Americans are the coolest blacks ..
yeah black amaericans manage to put a front hold on all the blacks should of been haiti for being the first to break the chains of slavery butttt
What? Doppelgangers in what sense?
@@alexsm3882 I think she's referring to how similar Lauren Hill and Rah Digga voices sound
So we not gon talk about how Jon Forte just murdered this track.
Right! And the dude right b4 him. I forgot his name

Idgaf what nobody say...90s hiphop was & will always reign Supreme.
The golden years of Hop Hip was the 1990's!!!
I never realized De La Soul was sitting in the movie theater in front of them. Wow after all these years. #theinternet
+Chicago Hustles Lol the same with me almost 20 years later.
Only just realised it myself! The full squad complete with their women...!! interestingly, they were ALL captured just 1ce through the entire video and at the tail end. Only Pos made the most appearances. God bless archives!!
Chicago Hustles youuuuuu maddddd lateeeeeee smh
Killing me softly video 🤦🏽♂️
Members of Poor Righteous Teachers also in the video...they were all tight back in the day!!
It's alot of mfs in the bar! Just look real close! Eric Sermon,Redman, and Keith Murray
Oh the hip hop that came from the 90s
It was soooo fugee-li-cious! 😀
Yep,music is so shit nowadays....compared to then.
Lauryn and Rah Digga are so beautiful! :)
I am married to Lauryn..in my mind. 24 years now. lolololololololol

Jersey!!!
The 90s had the best female rappers ive ever heard
Lauryn Hill and Rah Digga going back and forth is music to ears ... LITERALLY. Don’t remember this song, but Rah Digga’s interview with Doggie Diamond brought me here
This track is like a old cowboy movie where is a shootout between two gangs and one guy comes out of nowhere pull-out a Gatling gun and kills everybody John forte straight Murda this track
That John Forte verse is why President Bush gave him a presidential pardon
This track was well coordinated and put together. Hip Hop in its prime🔥🔥🔥
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. BARS everywhere! Seeing Lauryn Hill and Rah Digga together brings tears to my eyes. I truly hoped for a collaborative effort from them when this came out. That album would've been a certified classic. #Fugees #Cowboys
I love rah diggah and lauryn
Same, everyone was great...
This song was about the Quad Studios Shooting 2pac diss
They're both from New Jersey representing the Outsiderz
💯%
Man I had no idea they made this a single and gave it a video. This was one of the best tracks on the album.
One of the best Posse Cut ever!
Wyclef & Pacewon
Rah Digga & Lauryn Hill]
Young Zee & Praz
John Forté
John Forte don't need nobody 😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥
Every motherf*cker on this track had BARS!
Carolyn Jackson yea but I wanted to hear ghetto cowboy lol I gotta find the name. It sounds like screwed wu vocal with a fugies beat this one
Carolyn Jackson facts💯
True
Fuckin facts!!!!
Wyclef killed Pac on this to!!!
The best two hip hop females EVER on the same song...brilliant!
This song is a classic from the get go, but once Forte go in on that last verse it just takes it to another level. The flow on that verse is ridiculous.
Its baffles me why Lauren and Rah Digga didn't do a red and meth type spin off album??? it would of blew the roof off... I hate how artist was mismanaged!
A tear almost came out. AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. I still think the last verse is one of the hardest versus I've ever heard in my life !!!!!
Right Jon forte 💯💯💯🙏
Digga said they didn’t hear him record his part till the song was released
John Forte, used to crush on him back in the day. Loved his voice, I think I had his Poly Sci CD. 🥰
yo Lauryn n Rah Digga killed it.
Flows were crazy
Straight lyricism on this track!
Damn, homie...they all went in.
John Forte snapped on here!!!
Rah Digga and Ms. Lauryn Hill part is everything
...the only thing.
Still Listening to this in 2020 💥
Lauryn was so damn fine!
I been saying that since 13
This crew is too strong
Lauryn had the rapping and the singing down long before anyone else and without autotune.
Lauryn Hills Flow
This when fugees diss 2pac
Newark finest right there they bodied this one love to L and Digga
L Boogie and Rah killed everybody on here!
Listen to John Forte's verse and then get back to me.
Mjohn I totally agree man! wyclef and Pace tried it on the first verse... but the flow the ladies had is far incomparable!!
Mjohn The crazy thing is, if you're not music/artist savvy and you're listening on a radio, you can hardly tell the difference in their voices.... mad smooth...
@@funshoogunjobi5189
Again, go listen to Forte's verse and get back to me.
Todd Pace Hey Todd, I gotta be real with you Fortes lines are mad sick, especially as the very last verse on the track...but you gotta realise that never before had the combination of Lauryn and Digga been seen prior to this track. Forte's been on that Ish for a minute.. and this was probably his best flow for me anyways... My point, the L Boogie /Rah combo and lyrical flow Was the selling point. Bam!!
John Forte Verse...DAMN!
I pray that two ladies step into the mainstream Hip Hop scene with the rhymes like Digga and Lauren...2 of the best MCs together
We need to put a stop to the Illuminati first. They always suck the soul out of black music when it reaches its peak.
I did not know this was a Tupac diss track
Still here in 2021 and this is a breath of fresh air, bars everywhere and John forte verse to finish it off was fire 🔥🔥🔥
I only listen to this song just to hear Lauryn and Rah Digga combo verses
One of the greatest songs in all existence
Let alone the most immaculate ad-libs ever created
Might I also add this song has a bitchin flow
I wanna be a cowboy
@@2grimey932 right I remember having to explain some of them to kids in high-school. Like the best burns and references are the ones that went ove peoples heads like "Inside tough guys are feminine like Sheena Easton" alot of kids had no idea who she was and why it was a such a sick burn.
Lauryn made this group. Hotter than fish grease.
Lauryn Was A Lyrical Beast!

Don't agree. Without Wyclef or Praz it wouldn't have worked either. They were all equal. And i dare to say, Wyclef was the main force.
I used to think that until I heard The Carnival.
My favorite Fugees track.
I remember I use to order this video all the time on "The Box"

My God john forte murder this verse just like when cappadonna murders winter wars
They don't make em like this no more.
"i pull out my gun like trugoy" rip
.LOL IN THIS TRACK Fugees TRYNA SOUND LIKE GOMUNKUL 6
forte was the star of this track, no question.
I think rah digga was the ONLY female mc that had a chance against young Lauryn...
Lauryn is the best female rapper all of time
She sounds like lauren hill to me. They hard asf
I'm gonna say a young mc lyte and prime brat and missy but u are right Digga would be the only one with a good chance lol
I was too young to realize how fine rah digga was in this video 👀
The only group where the women were the best MC's!
John Forte' & L-Boogie!! he is a lyrical magician!!
Facts
Young zee was on this...
They are way ahead of their time. Lauren was flawless, they all played their part classics
John Forte *WENT IN!!!!*
But the illest line was *"I pull out my gun and plug 2 like Trugoy"*
That is one of the best similes of all time.
Pacewon 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Every song on the score was fire 🔥
cant disagree
Really blessed to have lived through the Golden Era of Hip Hop!
Well said.
Just straight art can’t get enough of this song
The beat is so fire
Makkhi Stephenson forte produced it & unsuprisingly ripped everyone on it.
Best rap album ever….Hands down
Did you not listen to All Eyes on me?
Forte murdered it!
SOME OF JERSEY'S FINEST, Y'ALL. When hip-hop was real and alive!!! Lauryn, I love you!!!
They should've used this track in The Harder They Fall.
Nothing compares to these old school cyphers
I can't believe this song only got 20,000 hits. one of the best songs they ever made as far as the Beat and Rhyme intertwining!!
That beat is sick
the hip hop is strong with this one.....
One of the best rap groups ever… so much talent and topic….wish more rap was this creative there is much money getting left on the table
Good music is timeless and this song is living proof... 🔥🔥🔥
yeah john forte went in on this...
Rah digga killed this
Lauryn Hill and John Forte had my favorite verses on this track and that says a lot on a track filled with so many dope emcees.
The ladies won this one with ease. S/N when Digga flipped her hair on that "I rock the doobie, L rocks the Nubian Twist" part,,, I lightweight fell in love with her.
Back when you had to properly ride the track and couldn’t hide behind the beat.
Young Zee flow was nice and smooth.
Zee ..one of the baddest rappers I've heard.. listen to his s#!t
The sheer and apparent truth is that music cannot re-assume this status. Three key things stick out at you in this song... ONE The flow,TWO The alignment of verses is VERY specific and THREE The combination of personalities. Massive. For me, Lauryn and Rah launched the electricity while Forte just silenced it with the crescendo. This is the absolute level of professionalism that you need to understudy in what true Hip Hop should be... sadly, that coordination is missing today. Great song!!
Eye miss everyday of the 90's..✊🏿
