As an esthetician, I agree that it is not a necessity but definitely fun to have. I have one myself and I enjoy the “luxury” of it. It’s just adding to the aesthetic of my collection and self care.

Love you Susan! I also want to add, it also depends on which part of the world you live in. Coming from South East Asia where the bedrooms use airconditioning, and when it's off, the room and bathroom can get really hot and humid. So a fridge will definitely benefit in prolonging the shelf life of products and also keeping a consistent temperature for the skincare to work at its optimal level.

Some people say that fridge is too small. But I would put only my most expensive products I own in the fridge if I were to get one, personally. So, that would be my Skinceuticals vitamin C serum, SK-II pitera essence, any other high priced serums/essences/treatments I have. All my other skincare (like Eucerin or CeraVe moisturizers, petrolatum-based healing ointments, random oils, etc) will just stay out as usual. A bigger fridge would be more costly anyway, I'm sure.

I too was very surprised to hear what all the experts had to say about a skincare fridge. I got one about a year ago and I love mine. I suffer from eczema so to be able to put my ointments in it was a plus but to be able to use it also for my skin care was great as well. I didn't need it but I wanted it big difference. I also did my research before I got one so I knew what I could and couldn't or rather shouldn't put in it. But I have enjoyed it since I have gotten it. It is a luxury product and does take up a lot of room so if you don't need it then don't get what in my opinion, even though I do have one. I really enjoyed this video and all the experts opinions on a skin fridge. Thanks y'all

This is also a waste of electricity. Even if you’re not environmentally conscious, you probably don’t want an increased charge each month on your energy bill over a skincare fridge. Electrical equipment that actively change temperature (e.g a kitchen fridge or a laundry dryer) use the most electricity, so even a small fridge continuously running is going to increase your monthly bill.

I have a mini fridge but no where to put it right now.. so I have a little container to put certain products in to keep them cool, keep shelf life longer and enjoy the benefits. I put this container in the fridge on the door.
Especially somewhere like Hawaii where it’s hot and humid year round. We keep many things in the fridge to keep from molding. (My bf from the mainland thinks it’s weird lol.)
I get a container to ensure all my products are lid tight and away from food.

I keep my Vitamin C and Lactic Acid in it, along with my Avene and Adapolenes, apparently those really need to be kept cold. I also keep some unopened peptide serums in the fridge. Also my tubes of Retin A are in there, but I don't put my Curology prescription in there.

Hi Susan! Could you make a video about skincare for moms? My mom’s lately been worried about her skin losing elasticity and wants to get into a skincare routine. Thank you if you’re reading this!!

      Is she pregnant or nursing?
If not: it's the same as other women in her age group / with her skin concerns....

@@leonamay8776 my mom’s in her late 40s - her main concerns are skin elasticity, wrinkles, and her pores being extremely visible. Susan seems to know a lot about these things so I thought she could help

@@tasnai she does! This seems like "standard" anti aging skin concerns.
Many people (dr Dray, Dr Sam Bunting, Susan, Dr David Lim) have videos about that.
Not only her skin concerns but also her skin type (especially whether she has sensitive skin) matters.
Patch testing every new product, not starting with various active ingredients (retinol, exfoliating acids, vitamin c etc) at the same time and making sure that she has a basic routine that works for her (sunscreen, cleanser, moisturizer) before adding anything new to her skincare routine is basic advice that applies to her as well.
It's really great that you're trying to help your mother! :)

      @@tasnai you're welcome!
Sunscreen Spf 30 or higher (reapplied during the day) is essential if she wants to use retinol, exfoliation etc (and should be worn even if she doesn't! ).
Your mum may already be aware of that. But It's my experience that many of the older generation tend to still believe in the "healthy tan" etc. So I wanted to mention it.

You can get different sizes. Check out cooluli. I like the 15 liter size but they have a bunch of size options. The one she is showing is the smallest.
