Hey Man, Love ur video. The fan stuck on high could be the temp sensor located behind the top cylinder bank 2, or thermostat. U need a scan tool to find out
Hate to be THAT guy, but have you seen the factory repair manuals on the alignment? The correct alignment can only be done when using a MBZ spreader bar. The spreader bar removes the inherent play in the steering arms, it mimics the loading from forward motion, when your wheels get pushed back. I've got one for $89, since I do my alignments at home, and there is definitively a huge difference between using a bar and skipping this. I'd say several MM. This is especially iffy, because the C-Class and CLK both have a tolerance not measured in Degrees but in Arcminutes, so the alignment is supposed to be at 0.06 of a degree with a tolerance of 0.06 degree. These are absolute precision alignments, that cannot be done correctly without that spreader bar. But since only the Toe is adjustable on these cars, it's dead easy to do at home with the help of that spreader bar.
Thats fine, I appreciate the comment about this! So you are saying basically if I have this tool I can do alignments myself without having to go to a shop and getting it down?
@@HeyboysGarage yeah let me show you what I do. Even if you would not go all the steps, you can at least measure at home, if you need an alignment. tools needed: spreader bar MBZ (ebay or MBZ parts shop) alignment kit (got mine from Amazon) Large wrench to crack open the tie rod end locking nut 2 regular wrenches for the tie rod end adjustment Remember: C-Class, CLK, only the tie rod can be adjusted. Camber and caster are not adjustable, unless you installed a camber kit Steps: Check Tires pressure Put spreader bar between front wheels, pushing out the front of the tires Bonus points if you have a steering wheel locking tool Follow toe plate kit manual m.ua-cam.com/video/TTkSwuXKWpM/v-deo.html
My '06 C230 did the same with the fan coming on and wanting to stay on for a bit. My temps never increased, but, the engine let go with no sign, or, sound of detonation. Engine has been replaced with the '08 version of the same M272 powerplant.
@@HeyboysGarage I was. It's my fault. It had successfully done over 150k miles that I tried to diagnose the issue as something less catastrophic. My mechanic pleaded with me to get it solved. I drove it for 2 years, no issues, then... 💥. It was a ticking time bomb. I was ready to go with an updated engine after that.😅
Thanks for feedback. You know I have thought about it and I'm thinking I would love to do it. I just have to come up with the best setup for it because it's a V6. Normally i wouldn't but when you do it has to sound good
@@HeyboysGarage yeah I'm going through the same dilemma. It's got to sound good. There aren't many options for these c-class apart from muffler/resonator/cat deletes or go full custom which financially is out of the question as it would probably cost more than the car. I've thinking about a muffler delete and replacing with a cherrybomb or magnaflow (resonator)

That’s super helpful. I need to look at that and change it and see if that fixes the issue. Good call

Oh wow, did you end finding out what the cause was?
@@HeyboysGarage Yes. It was the dreaded can shaft gear issue. The car was not cooling properly, but, my gauges didn't indicate anything catastrophic.😬
@@HotMike were you not getting a code/ check engine for it? Because the camshafts adjuster magnets control those gears
