I bought my 1995 eagle talon tsi for $900 over 22 years ago and she still is my weekend toy.
A video that takes you on the memory lane. Awesome 90's were the best years.
You definitely deserve more recognition for this!
I owned one! And traded it for a '97 eclipse gst. Miss my younger days
Those Plymouth lasers were a great little sports car for their time. Sweet handling for a fwd.
Nicely done Craig, this was the most enjoyable video to watch in quite awhile. Keep up the good work & best of luck with your move. Been there, done that.
You need to pick up one of the cheap tire machines (ie Mayflower. I have XK). I picked one up for my garage and have already changed out about 5 cars worth in a couple of months. Totally worth it to not have to deal with tire shops anymore!
Had one! ‘96 5 speed loved that car!! TSi AWD 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Had a 91 TSI in black my fav color in those. It was my dream affordable car back then. Fun times indeed!
great stuff thanks
Love and appreciate your love of 90's relics- one of the many reasons I love your channel dude!
Those of us who had DSM's in the 90s are well aware of the Eagles & Lasers!
I Dig these vids, Thanks!!
If you grew up & had one, or had friends who had them, & or just remember seeing them new on the streets..👍
You were stressed out last video. I hope things are going well for you. Always good to see you 👍🏾
My first new car was a 1992 Talon Tsi AWD. Loved that car. 19 years old, first decent paying job. That car got me so many chicks. Good times, man.
Love any 90s car builds...keep them coming please!
I am a 90's Kid to! You're an inspiration to me thank you!!
I had ‘92 TSi AWD in this gray. Loved it! I’ll be watching these series for sure. Keep them coming.
This was the car that caused me to find your channel.
I would love a white one in my collection someday.
Drink every time you hear "archives"
It's all looking really good Craig. Your chum has done such a good job on this project.
🥸👌🍷🍷❤️❤️🦘
Had 95 tsi AWD best car ever. Bought son 1991 tsi AWD on ebay and flew to Chicago and drove it to Colorado. Love these cars affordable for average guy back in the day.
Had one, that car was insane and so much fun to drive..I took it to track day at Laguna Seca with racing slicks on it. It was a beast in the corners.
I always wanted an eagle talon!!
Tires come off easy. Why the hell worry about painting the rims asap
Paint them when the car is done
I remember those. One of my buddies had one. Reason why I remember that car was because for a while he kept getting sick while driving it. Like, he'd have to stop, get out, and vomit sick. One day we were looking at his car to do something, can't remember what, when we found out what was making him sick. His exhaust manifold had cracked and he had "fixed" it with JBWeld. Turned out that JBWeld wasn't made for high temperatures, especially exhaust on an engine with forced induction (it had a turbo), and the JBWeld had actually begun to boil. When I say boil, I mean you could see vapor rising up off the "repair". That's what was making him sick. He was literally aspirating vaporized JBWeld when driving.
Wow! That could not have been good for the lungs!
I had a black 91 Plymouth Laser with the pop up headlights. Miss that car
I had 2. 1995-96 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX’s! Both 1 year apart brand new! Red/grey leather. Loved em
I had a Plymouth Laser. Would love to get my hands on one again. Sold it for $500 with 200k miles. Loved that car.
Miss the DSM scene, had a ‘90 Mitsubishi Galant VR4. By far the best sleeper car. 4 door, AWD, AWS, Turbo. Yes please!
Absolutely love these cars, had a few growing up same red color. Would love to own another one if financially it was possible, would be a perfect project for my son and I as he also has a huge interest in the JDM car scene!!!!
Adios Craig,another gem!
Classic 90’s car!!
This was the USA's answer to the Merkur XR-4ti. Paul Newmans last competitive race was in Lime Rock on Merkur Day. His SCCA entry broke on the parade lap, and after that he screams GTFOOTW at me in Pit Lane, my 1st time ever in the Pits, as guest of Merkur, being top NE salesman. Mr Sausage, Mr. Sindoni himself bought a Scorpio from me. Some sales you never forget, and others you wished you could, lol.
Yeee Yeee!
i really enjoy your videos im a happy international subscriber from mexicali mexico adios amigo
This guy is a Weisel.
I sold three of these cars at South Motors Nissan, and I loved them so much! I was so jealous I couldn't keep them as my own. They drop the rear on launch, but the hair blowers make these so much fun! It's not the fastest but definitely they are so much fun!
Man, this makes me miss my 93 White Eagle Talon TSI!!! WIsh I never sold it!
Love these cars would love to a clean twin turbo original
Craig first I am glad you're moving to Flotida. Did that in 2018 from upstate NY. I am amazed that you and your brother are involved in the car business. You said your parents were teachers. Who inspired you and your brother?
Amazing video as always.... that car is a legend... thanks for sharing... do you may have one of the oldest subaru Baja or subaru svj? Thanks Craig
I never understood why so many people buy so many junked vehicles at one time and barely getting them restored or giving up during the rebuild process. Like what is the point in doing that? If you can't or plan on finishing it then don't accept it or do it. 😂
I'm guilty of this. Many of us have cars we loved as children and want them. The idea of spending time restoring them is exciting. Then life gets in the way.
Craig has even more responsibilities than most people.
We are here for the content an im here 💯 so go head an do what you do i promise im still here.
Back in 1993 my manager at work bought a 1990 Talon. It was a purplish colour, i forget the name of it. Her mechanic inspected it after purchase and said the timing belt was on the way out. Dealer changed the belt. Next day she was stuck on the side of the road, belt jumped and broke the valves. Ouch!! She finally got it running right at least.
So your saying a TIMING BELT was dried and cracking after only 3 years? I find that hard to believe.
@@martylee9035 so she told me anyway. The whole thing sounded fishy
Had the exact same car finally sold it to a kid in high school. Him and his dad took it on a test drive for three hours on a Friday. I reminded the dad that the car was pretty peppy. They bought it anyways. Car was totaled on Monday.😢
Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR4 waves to say hellow papa!
Worked on a ton of these back in the day when I was a Mitsu dealer tech.
Any interesting stories you remember from those days?
I miss the early 90s.
@@andydhillon1977 mostly us techs laughing every time a tow truck brings in a AWD with only the front wheels in the air. I can’t tell you how many transfer cases we replaced. Parts kept many in stock.
@@ko9446 Was this during the time they were newish? Were the failures due to design flaws or abuse?
@@andydhillon1977 AWD cars need to have all 4 wheels in the air to tow.
@ko9446 Ah, I assumed you meant the front wheels were in the air due to transfer case failure and for the reason to be towed.
Were the tow truck companies financially responsible for the damage they caused?
A buddy of mine used to collect Talons. I've always thought they're sharp looking cars.
I’ve come full circle with the videos. The Talon video is what got me started. Loved that car.
That is awesome!
My brother had the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX which is the Japanese version of the Eagle Talon TSI both cars are AWD. His timing belt broke at 62,000 miles on the highway taking out the engine. That was the end of that car but I'll bet somebody got a new engine to get it back on the road again.
You have way too many cars that you use ALL THE TIME, especially when you've already told us your daily driver is electric! 😂lol
He bought this car 5 years ago. All the videos in this series are old footage.
Nice!!! i have a dark blue 1991 eagle talon non tubo with the 4g63 manual (same as your's) and i love It!!! now him changing clutch but is running great!
This one is going to hurt! I bought a 92 Plymouth Laser RS AWD Turbo Automatic for 1k it kept popping head gaskets so I junked it and 15 years later I'm regretting the hell out of it!
Craig I do appreciate enthusiast builds. People like what they like. Not everything needs to be a hypercar super exotic. Just comes down to passion. Sticking to things you enjoy, is unique to you and that’s why I’m here.
I had a 90 Eagle Talon TSI AWD 5 SPEED that had some major mods done to it but I kept blowing difs and transfer cases I ended up going through every scrap yard parts in my area at the time so it ended up being parked up on the hillside after I blew the trans apart so after about 2 years of sitting I sold it to a guy that never got it back on the road because he couldn't find a trans for it but that car was stupid fast in the 1/4 mile.
4g63 woop woop, had a talon tsi 400awhp, 98gst 380whp and a 98gsx 450whp. Miss them. Make sure you tune it!!!
Omg how many years - Craig looked younger, no gifs, no thirty minutes later 🤭
These where great with the second gear synchro hrind😂
This was the collaboration with Mitsubishi called diamond star motors which incorporated the Eagle Talon Mitsubishi Eclipse and Plymouth Laser. They came all different variations including Awd turbos and 5 speeds.
They were very fun cars and you saw so many of them on the road.
Yup!
I wasn't a fan of the Plymouth Laser. My favorite was the Eagle Talon. White over gray specifically.
Also had a 1985 Omni GLH Turbo!
i've been waiting for 10 minutes !!!!
So what who cares?
@@flycatchful sounds like your being a little jelly, peanut butter and jealous to be exact. 😂😂😂😂😂
@@flycatchful" who cares?? " so what are you doing on this channel watching this video? Go back to watching survivor or Jersey shore you pot head
@@MADMAX-vd8pr What an idiotic post.
Of wasting your life.
i've been waiting for 20 seconds !!!!
I have been passively looking for a gsx or eagle talon tsi awd for years and years. They are pretty darn rare

Hey! I thought u were selling all and moving to Florida..
I am!
This series started 5 years ago
Built at former DSM plant in central IL, now the Rivian EV factory.
We know about the Talon. Just know that cars we don’t see on the road any longer are that way for a reason.
I had a 1990 Mitsubushi Eclipse GSX - red with black roof boughten new. Had to sell it when I got married and had kids and needed to use a car seat.
Diamond Star Motors ftw.
Yea the Mitsubishi Starion was a car I really loved but could never find a good one. Diamond Star was a hot company back in the day.
Friendly advice Craig deck of playing stuffed between rim and tire works Great
Look how stress free you were when you still had German around
Your getting back to your old ways good ? Or not
The Eagle has landed...at Craig's house.
Keep the talon videos coming love them 👍👍
I know this is an asinine comment but ill be more than happy to drive the shit outta that car in a no-rust environment and only drive it as i stole it on those rare occasions when the feeling is right, the road is perfect and C&C music factory is gonna make you sweat. and you're left with no option because that itch must be scratched! What i lack in the financial department i make up for in enthusiasm and gratitude! Lol. Yeah, I already know. Que the Aerosmith!
You should take all of them to auction and see what you can get
😮
one of these day's ill pop in and meet you to say hello.;But I know how UA-cam guys hate that. I live in town And I watch all your vids I am a bit of a car guy myself FYI if you see a swivel rocking chare base GRAB the Base it make a great rim painting tool just center the tire on it pull up a chair and go as you not need to get up just turn it on the base
We goin just stop an quit while we waiting for you to get your money together so you can take to your brother for a family discount!!! 😊
The Mitsubishi Galant gvr4 was the Evo before there was an evo.
Hey Craig. Ever consider a second channel devoted to your, "enthusiast", project cars? An interested follower could go there and truly enjoy the content. Others who want the buying at auction, repairing and flipping could stay on this channel. Seems to me that your followers are split about 50/50. I think that your subscriber base would grow with that change. I, for one, would subscribe if I new what I was subscribing to. I'm not yet a subscriber because your content is all over the place. Just a thought...
Not a bad idea!
I think he may be done with the project cars for awhile now though, with the move and all.
I had eagle vision 94 I wish I never sold it never gave me problems paid $1,200
The sc is a cool car
@4:38... You didn't need to do all that. Should've just given him the nasty wheels to put on to roll it around, then do them right when you get the car back.
Ahh yes the Fagle Taion
Please show the '98 Talon.
He did some videos on it already. I remember he bought it off the original owner. It was an automatic. He sold it relatively quickly after.
Eddie Money sang I Wanna Go Back.👍
I Thought You Didn’t Have mine Anymore Or Was That A Mistake You Told Me?????😮😢
Dsm ftw
👍🏻👍🏻
This 90’sthing is getting old sir. I’ll watch but I’m over it. Especially since you don’t even finish them. Lol
My Skyline is finished
I get what you mean, but I know exactly what Craig is going through. He has a lot on his plate responsibility-wise. It's tough finishing cars. So many issues pop up and delay progress.
@@FlyingWheelshope that is sarcasm. 1 out of 100 ain't nothing to be proud of.
@@FlyingWheels i like the content. I’m just saying the rotation has been 90’s more often than usual. Lol It’s like the one guy everyone gets recommended that’s has been saying the car market is crashing every video.. and It’s him walking around ford and car max, saying the same thing 🤣🤣every upload.
Love the 90s cars
Here we go again lol
You missed the part that this is all old footage? The car is already done. Lol
@@andydhillon1977 I meant with a repeat information video. He showed all this long ago when he didn't have many subs. Didn't think he bought a new car
@TheRealMrRoyal Would you prefer no content? You do realize he's busy with a major move?
Am I the only one who liked the stock Grey color better than the Red?
I like red, but the original color was beautiful, too. Pretty rare color.
U should go back to factory 😊😊
I agree, don't modify these. It will end up destroyed.
Sound is absolutely horrible
Package the Talon up with the Nissan GTR @ $10k for both, and I will bring you cash this Friday.
It's not a GT-R.
How to go backward when trying to go forward= Flying wheels!
Here we go again.....
