    Thanks to everyone who informed me of the health issues Elvis had before he passed. I had no idea of this & thought he was maybe drinking but now I know. Thank you all for the information. Peace & love to you all.

    Elvis didn't die from drugs or alcohol,he had a disease that he inherited from his mother who died at an early age from!....I remember the day when they announced that Elvis too had the disease! We, his fans were heartbroken,that knowledge made it so hard to continue to watch his concerts without tears!...his death wasn't sudden, nor was it a surprise!

    there was a time i just thought this wasnt the good elvis, but now when i see it, all i think is that its a kind of perfect elvis, because he was at the end of his life.. most of us are going to be shadows of our selves when we are at the end of our lives, but theres a reason why they say youre a shell of yourself, because thats what the flesh is to the soul.. and the soul will go back from which it came, in its true glory.. so i dont feel depressed or embarressed for him here, im just nothing but impressed and almost feeling like in a way its his greatest performance of all

    I remember watching a documentary about Elvis Presley, told from the perspective of those within his inner circle. Some nurses that were familiar with Elvis Presley's medical files, stated that he was diagnosed in the early-1970s with a "cancer-like tumor" on his liver. Elvis Presley was "doctor-shopping" in order to get the medication that he believed that he needed in order to continue performing concerts and recording in the recording studio.
    In the Summer of 1977, Elvis Presley embarked upon a tour of the American heartland, holding concerts in smaller cities and towns, to serve as a "dress rehearsal" for a major US tour the following year. Elvis Presley most likely knew that he would not live to see the end of the major US tour to which he was contractually obligated to perform. Nevertheless, he went out on the road, doing his best to give the best performances he could, knowing that they would be the last ones he would ever give to his fans.

      Larry Ressler thank you so much for your time & all this information. So sad because he was ever so young & a great person too. He sure gave his best at all times to his fans even though this was so hard to watch it can be seen that he wasn’t gonna let anything hold him back. RIP Elvis.

      He had liver problems but it was the damage done by the huge amount of drugs he was taking.
      He died of an overdose of drugs which caused his heart to stop.
      Self destruction...

    • @akagenie502
      @akagenie502  4 роки тому +1

      Michael Goodwin most probably about the money but I also heard that he was really sick and some try to help. He’s at peace now but yeah I too wished he had lived much, much longer and enjoyed his life more.

      They all tried to make him get help, if they went to far, he sacked them.
      They weren't on a wage they didn't really get anything, he bought them things like houses and cars, thats the way he paid them
      He had an addictive nature, and nothing or nobody were allowed to tell him anything, he lost his temper or threatened them.
      It was self destruction, nothing else.
      So so so 😥

    I enjoy your reactions, especially to Elvis. In your reaction to ‘Unchained Melody’ you were saddened by his appearance and sometimes slurred speech and wondered if he had been drinking. I don’t fault you for thinking that but I wanted to let you know a little bit about his deteriorating health at that point in his life. He died about 6-7 weeks following that concert.
    Much has been written about his diet and his reliance on prescription drugs. Both were contributing factors in his deteriorating health (he didn’t drink because of the negative effects it had on him). However, I came across this article in the journal Practical Pain Management, October 2013, Volume 13 Issue 9, entitled Elvis Presley: Head Trauma, Autoimmunity, Pain, and Early Death. (Last updated on: June 14, 2017) and it filled in a lot of the blanks for me related to his health. (www.practicalpainmanagement.com/pain/other/brain-injury/elvis-presley-head-trauma-autoimmunity-pain-early-death)
    This article was written by a physician who specializes in pain management and who had access to all of Elvis’ medical records and the autopsy report. The article is worth reading since it gives needed context when watching Elvis’ performance in the last few years before his death in August 1977. I won’t go into all of the information about Elvis’ health except to provide several quotes from the article.
    “Elvis clearly had a disease process that had affected multiple organs-stomach, liver, spine, and eyes-but at the time, his physicians had no idea that he might have had a progressive autoimmune inflammatory disorder. The concept of autoimmunity was just starting to be understood. Much to his credit, Dr. Nick gave Elvis the diagnosis of post-concussion syndrome, and believed his headaches were a result of his head injury of 1967.”
    “Presley had hypertension and arteriosclerosis independent of his autoimmune disease, but his autoimmune disorder undoubtedly accelerated the inflammatory process.”
    “Additional diagnoses include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (emphysema), chronic hepatitis, lung disease, glaucoma, hypertension, and megacolon.”
    “Progress in modern pain management finally has provided us with enough scientific knowledge about traumatic brain injury (TBI), autoimmune disease, and pain to unravel his medical history. After piecing the evidence together, it is quite clear to me that Elvis' major disabling medical problems stemmed from multiple head injuries that led to an autoimmune inflammatory disorder with subsequent central pain. His terminal event was cardiac arrhythmia, underpinned by [prescription] drug abuse, genetic defects, and hastened along by an atrocious diet. This article will review how I have come up with this assessment.”
    Another quote from the article is referencing what many fans and critics have noted in Elvis’ performance from 1973 onward:
    “It is noteworthy that Elvis could not do his usual gyrations on stage in the last couple years of his life as a result of rigidity and spasticity. At times, he even had to use a cane to walk. Pain develops in joints and muscles with TBI.”

      Kathleen Ryan first of all THANK you for your time in writing all this for me. Secondly it makes me happy to know you enjoy my reactions. I was so sadden to see him this way but even so can see he still got it and would go all out to please his fans. I don’t tend to research too much as I like to give my natural reaction. I wasn’t grown on Elvis’s music but learn about him no so long ago & even then I only at the time heard about 2 of his songs on the radio, now I learn so much and love him more and more. So sad he was so ill really broke my heart. He’s pretty special and ever so rare. I will sure be checking out the article you recommended. Thanks again and God bless you my friend :)

      Oh....the poor man. Who else on earth could have kept going with all that ? When I saw him on stage in November 1976 he was such a fine specimens of manhood, long legs, broad shoulders, confidently walked on stage and gave his all for over an hour. Only some heavenly power could have given him this strength under those circumstances ❤❤❤

    This is from the documentary Elvis on Tour 77.
    Now the actual performance footage used was a combination on 2 concerts Omaha were the sound quality wasn't good and Rapid City were Elvis was much better .
    My advice to anyone wanting to see this is buy the bootleg CD of Rapid City concert .
    My brother has it and said it's very good .
    Listen to Hurt from this concert it's great

    Although he was addicted to drugs, his autopsy didn't show enough medication for it to be an overdose, his official cause of death was cardiac arrest, he was in bad health during the 70s, enlarged colon, enlarged heart, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, he had a poor diet his weight at the time was estimated to be 357lbs

    • @akagenie502
      @akagenie502  4 роки тому +1

      Mikey Films yeah but apparently it was just prescription drugs he was on. Such a shame he had to go through all that. A beautiful soul. RIP Elvis. Thank you for your time. Appreciate it.
