Once again, you're the man. Just picked this machine up yesterday and got the Hydraulic fluid and oil changed out today. The machine is pretty decent for the price I must say. This machine takes WAY more hydraulic oil than I expected. Mine took a full 20L almost.
I just got another one of these machines; my first one had that tube that is slightly bent, next to the dipstick. My new one has a bent tube. Most people put something on there to bend downward.
I have cbt23 pretty much same machine. I just recently got it. It leaks from the hydraulic tank lid. It has a cheap rubber gasket. Thinking of removing lid and going a different route for gasket
@@luisduenas3718 I will see if I can't do some recon on the problem to see if we can't come up with a solution. Mine works fine atm but never hurts to be prepared.
Why change the fluid when the skid steer is new? Is the Chinese oil inferior? I know if there is dirt or water you need to change it, but why if it is new?
Thanks for all the videos. I have same machine and when I got it, there was a long wire with female connector just hanging from inside the machine on the left. I'm going to see if I can post a video and share the link with you and maybe you can tell me where its supposed to go, because I can't figure it out.
I have the same wire there. I have been able to figure out what it does. It's a lone yellow wire. On mine. I think it would be a bit far fetched to say it's a wire to hook up for diagnostics.
Should be about 8.2 gallons, good visual to know if you have enough when pouring. The level would be half way up the filter tank holder. Obviously check with the dip stick.
I've got 2 hours on mine so far. It goes backward flawlessly, but when trying to slowly creep forward, it drags heavily on the engine and is very jumpy. Once it is going full speed forward, it does not drag on the engine at all. The hydraulic fluid looks clean, but seems very thin. Assuming that the desired reading on the dipstick should be on the higher of the 2 bumps after inserting the dip stick all the way in, it appears that mine is over full. Could overly thin oil or overly full oil cause that excessive drag on the engine when creeping slowly forward?
@toddbrown4542 Did you change both hydraulic and engine oil? Original hydraulic oil was super thin. Not that it should have much to do with engine but I without a doubt would change the engine oil if you haven't. That slow drag creeping forward is confusing. Does it almost feel like a flooding of the engine?
@@TheJBros520 Its not flooding, but acting like it is under excessive load. It does the same thing, although barely noticeable, when you lower and dump, but not when you raise or curl. I will be changing both fluids in the weeks ahead and let you know if it changes anything. I'm wondering if there could be a restriction in the hydraulic fluid somewhere, but that does seem to explain why the overloading/draging'jerking only happens when you are trying to creep slowly forward but goes away as soon as you are moving forward at full speed
Curious if you checked to see if nuts are tight. Have to pulled it off? It appears to be a 4x4 Fiberglass gasket. I've not pulled mine. If you have pulled it, it might be worth a try to clean the area and add some liquid gasket sealer. Anybody else have any ideas.
I can't get the red cap off the hydraulic fluid reservoir. You videos starts w/ it off. Is there a trick? I just can't get it to break loose. Do you have to release the pressure somehow?
Mine was a none issue.... Odd id say pressure but the little red dip stick on mine will push up if there is to much pressure. I'd say which I'd assume your bucket and arms are in there resting spot.... Very weird. I am going to bring my Skid home later, I can relook at it. I'm sure its metal threads, it's righty to tighten and left to loosen. Could've just been cranked on. Let me know.
@TheJBros520 I tried to turn it both ways but it won't budge. The dipstick is up a little and comes out easy. I would think that if it comes out...there isn't too much pressure. This is my 1st rodeo for sure so I really don't know what to do. You have been so helpful and can't tell you how much I appreciate it. Let me know if you have any ideas on getting this cap off.
@ryanross1293 I have a particular small ratchet strap i will tighten around bigger lids to get leverage. If you got a big enough oil filter removal tool. I'll try show a video tomorrow if you still haven't gotten it. Can also try a small pipe clamp, put some rubber on the cap where you would tighten. Just a bunch of random life hacks I'm thinking of.
Changing mine right now, did you end up finding out what the hydraulic oil capacity is for this machine? I’m not sure how much to put back in there but the tank is pretty large.
Well I ended up draining the tank as long as I could via the drain plug underneath. I added 7.5 gallons back in and it seemed a tad high just by looking at it so I drained half a gallon out to bring it to an even 7 gallons. I can’t seem to read that hydraulic oil dip stick for the life of me so I was just kinda eyeballing the level on that larger canister filter.
Is your drain plug reverse threads. Fixing to change out all mine and guess I will find out. Also you want a smooth as silk ride instal you some trampoline springs on your ride plate. For me it took 2 on each side and literally 5min to install . Rides so smooth now. I was not having it being beat and jarred todeath. Can't see that I can add a picture to show you what I done to mine.
@@TheJBros520 these platform stand plates do ride rough as hell on these machines. I thought about a foam pad for it just to handle some of it but a spring system would work even better to provide some “suspension ride”
I'm up north and it can get pretty cold here. I went with the 32w because its thinner, less possibility for gumming up I guess. Less extreme climates I would lean to the 46w for the extra thickness and lubrication. The fluid that came in the machine I thought was super thin, maybe a 20w. Let me know if anyone else has a take.

My bad. It just simply twists off. Could be a bit tight from suction.
What kind of hydroulic fluid did you use? AW46?
