    Thank you for the very thorough review. It really helped to see what you pack on the inside and the different options like using a packing cube. Great job!

    Another awesome video! Back when I was deciding between this (previous iteration) and the GR1, I ultimately went against this bag because I found it (and most Aer bags) to feel a bit too bulky with all the layers of pockets. Although it had 20 liters in theory, when I checked it out in the store I found I'd have trouble fitting my daily load (meanwhile the 21 liter GR1 fit everything with room to spare) due to the simple design.
    I really wanna love Aer especially since I prefer their ballistic nylon over Goruck's material, but their bags feel so puffy (don't know if that's the right word), and a bit too cluttered (even though it's supposed to be minimal) with the big zippers, straps, and whatnot. Some kinda Goruck simplicity with Aer's materials/tech would be an ideal bag for me.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  2 роки тому

      Thank you for watching and for the support! There is definitely something special about the 21l GR1 as far as it’s simple layout and how much it can hold for its size! The extra padding and compartments / pockets the flight pack has definitely seem to take up some of the overall capacity. A closer aer bag that might be interesting is the lunar pack which has a much simpler layout, the bellroy transit workpack is another that might good to check out!:)

      Agreed, partially. It’s just use cases. I much prefer having a pocket for everything instead of taking it out of some organizer in the main compartment. I do multimedia production, and as my daily bag it just holds so many little things. When I want to travel, I definitely notice the reduced main compartment capacity, but, I’ll just fill up a pelican case:)

    • @dannypacks

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! The bag is pretty slim so it would have to be a pretty compact cube but I think it could work for holding a body and lens

    By chance have you used the Evergoods CPL24? I’ve got this bag in the V2 and am wondering what bag is better for a personal bag for flying?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  2 роки тому +3

      Thank you for watching! I have used the CPL24 quite a bit, for flying I might lean a bit towards this one as it has the luggage passthrough, and the way the laptop sleeve is oriented can make it easier to get through if you this under the seat in front of you. It also feels slightly more compact and I also like that the back panel has more breathability. With that being said as just an overall daily bag I would still lean towards the CPL because I really like the organizational layout and the extra space

    Amazing review Danny! If the City Pack was also 20 Liters, would you pick the City Pack or the Flight Pack 3 as your EDC?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  6 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! I would probably lean towards the city pack as I don’t use the brief case handles or hideaway straps on the flight pack that much

    Great review! I do have a city pack and it looks like able to fit more than this which is stated to fill 6l more. What do you think about the main compartment?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  2 роки тому +3

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! The main compartment on this one does feel like it can hold a little more than the city pack, it feels a little deeper and the front admin area as well although I don’t think it necessarily feels like 6l more of stuff

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for watching and yes they definitely seem to be in a similar category. Both are great and I think the biggest decider will be if you use the bag more like a backpack (in that case the pockets may be more easily used on this one) or shoulder bag (in that case the forge may be a little more comfortable to reach everything)

    Is the cordura version better or the xpac version? I like the orange on the inside but I like how the cordura looks on the outside

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for watching! Definitely a tough choice between the materials, the cordura might feel a little more padded / rugged but in general I really like the weight / weather resistance offered by xpac, if you don’t mind the textured aesthetic of the fabric it may be worth checking out

    Have you found any durability issues with Aer bags long(er) term? I'm looking for a new daily/day trip/office bag and the Flight Pack 3 is on the list (along with Evergoods CPL24, DSPTCH Daypack, and the Minaal Daily 3.0). No matter the choice, the bag isn't going on serious hikes and won't be roughed up daily, but obviously don't want to have to re-buy in 1-2 years.

    • @intellectualesemv
      @intellectualesemv 2 роки тому +2

      All of those are great bags and will be tough to choose just one. I think the DSPTCH and Evergoods are best durability-wise, just imo

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you for watching and good question! So far all of the bags I have had from Aer have held up very well over the years (I still have gen 1 versions that look great). All of the bags on your list will hold up well, wouldn’t say one will necessarily hold up longer than the others it will really depend on your preferences as far as aesthetic / weight / weather resistance

    Hello! I’m interested in this bag but does it look like too bulky ? I’m not tall 5´8 so I want something that looks good on me. I’m looking for something more sleek but I like the urban vibe, the city pack seems good but the capacity seems too small…

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  Рік тому

      Thank you for watching! The bag manages to stay pretty sleek overall, I think it would look pretty good with your height. The city pack is another solid option, it’s a little smaller but can hold a decent amount for its size

    Not a fan of this update. The flight pack 2 was a perfect “personal item” bag to accompany a roller carryon. The added cushioning and increased size adds unneeded bulk. The FP2 also looked much better when the straps were stowed away. Also the luggage strap is downgrade.
    It looks like they went for more of a daily edc friendly bag instead of an underseat flight bag…which is odd, esp when considering the name of the it.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for watching and definitely some fair points! I hadn’t thought about the previous bag that way and fall into the camp of people who wanted a more straightforward edc bag but the use cases you mentioned make sense with the name
