Cruise control is also available on highline at 1.0 and one more thing, the topline at has led projector headlamps but the second light barrel is a dummy unit where as the highline has a true double barrel halogen setup

You are spot on with your variant review. I think VW-Skoda have not learnt their lessons well from their earlier experiences. They should have offered Comfortline+ variant also with missing features like Height Adjustable Driver Seat, Rear - Defogger, Washer-Wiper, Reverse Parking Camera for incremental value of 40-50K. You may buy alloy wheels for 30-40K from after market as well. The above would definitely improve their Sales nos. with established Creata & Seltos. With Astor & XUV700 launch Tiagun & Kushaq might have struggle harder to stay in competition.

Today (28/01/22) I went to book Highline variant and got to know 2022 models will not have auto foldable ORVMS that was earlier available in 2021 model. This change is applicable to all their models and variants. That was really disappointing to me! While the company has increased their ex-showroom price by almost 50K on the Highline AT version and has removed very basic feature. Kindly confirm before booking/buying. Thanks

Update to this video : I recently bought Highline AT in Dec 2023, and VW has added the following features in Highline AT ( 6:56 for reference) at my time of purchase: Auto Rain sensing wipers Hill start assist Auto headlights Follow-me-home headlights Cruise control TPMS (passive with deflation warning) These are the additional features I have requested the showroom to add (without voiding warranty) Leather upholstery (front and rear) (they installed it complimentary) Led headlights (GlobalByte 110w, which is really powerful and is truely 4 barrel, unlike topline's dummy barrels) (price - ₹ 13,500/- for 4 nos. With fitting) So effectively spending 13,500/- extra I have got 80% of features that topline provides, though there is no replacement for: ventilated seats Keyless entry star stop button sunroof chrome door handles 8-inch digital instrument cluster I also got a heavy discount on the on-road price So, if these features are not important for you, it's currently best value for money variant.

Xuv700 is so much more value for money, the comparison is not even close. It has solid build quality and driving is good as well. Better powered engines as well as fully feature loaded. Cannot understand the rationale behind these cars anymore

You cannot compare XUV with Taigun. If you do it is abig mistake... Taigun is German engineering with life saving safety features which are a must in India...browse internet and check Volkswagen .It is a top company in many countries. Cost of Taigun is also justified

The Safety features given are very good . But pricing is on high side & usable features for daily drives, are erratically distributed . Only Comfirtline will sell . Topline & GT Plus will also sell but in small nos. , to VW fans (Rich fans) . Much as I hate, to buy Chinese .... it seems, it will come down to MG Astor .... with Tata Harrier & Safari refusing to launch petrol versions .

The main thing you missed is that GT Plus comes with DSG. The Highline is DCT. That is worth any price premium.

Xuv 700 is so much more value for money, there is no comparison at all. And also, it doesn’t compromise on build quality or driving dynamics.

Fog lamps can't be retro fitted as per the showroom personnel as it needs some cutting of wires and would void the warranty
