QUICK NOTE/ CORRECTION: You CAN actually equip the same set of nails on both hands, at the same time. I write my scripts after I finish a game and put it down, so I can only imagine that I overlooked this detail. Apologies for the mistake and thank you to @mrBlassphemy for pointing this out in the comments section.👍🏻😊
Coming from a guy who lives in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and has been to New York on many an occasion I can say that I can completely like arm pain relate to her. Her attitude as a 21 year old on the street ship from New York was written spot-on everything from her attitude to the way she talks that you've been how she dresses it's just a chef's kiss so how the slums of New York City really are. Say they can't relate to fray they either have never truly spent any time in New York outside of a small vacation or visit or have never been to New York at all to understand how people in New York work talk and act
@bombyo3634 the battle system in this is akin to the Horizon series only I think a little better the storyline is greatly written the characters are great it ain't what people thought the demo was they ain't even give it a chance... And I don't care what nobody says I think Frey looks iight lol
@bombyo3634 I just got done unlocking the best cloak necklace and nails that you can get in the game and I'm about to go fight that last Tanta so I can get her electric ability and then I'm off to the end of the game and then the DLC. Been loving every minute of this game
@@chuckrichardson83 i played forbidden weet after this and got bored homie. I just beat thr hardest dungeon i died 3 times but Clapped every day one. It was tough but fun brother
@bombyo3634 Definitely a great game that got a bad rep. People are sleepin on what is probably one of the better action based rpg adventure games on the PS5
The only real fault with Frey's behaviour stems from her childhood; constantly rejected by foster families until she 'aged-out' (turned 18-years-old and graduated from high-school), learning that she was 'abandoned' at birth, unable to get into higher-education (lack of money), a street gang is attempting to force her to steal for them... She had no roots that she knew of... Frey could be compared to a cat; skittish...
I agree with your video too! I've seen so many people just saying things like "this game IS hot trash, I wont be playing it". Now, if people just werent interested in it, I would be able to understand it but that doesnt seem to be the case. It seems to be a case, "I HEARD it was a bad game, so its a bad game". Its very odd. Whatever though, we gave it a chance and we ended up loving it!😊 Thanks for checking out my review of the game, I appreciate it as always!👍🏻
The game despite it's flaws is absolutely, undoubtedly FUN!!! I realize most people can't think for themselves these days and rely on others to do it for them. I played it and finished it for myself and loved it and am still exploring post game.
My feelings exactly! I do think people are just hearing its bad and then decided that it must be true, especially from a lot of the bigger UA-camrs. My whole thing with reviews is that I want to give people factual info and then my personal opinions separately. I always urge people to seek out as many opinions as they can (from big outlets, big creators and smaller creators). I say that in the hopes that my viewers can make up their own minds about buying a game or not. That's what I'm going for on my channel😊. Thank you very much for watching, I appreciate it!
I love all the parallels and references to Alice in Wonderland in this game, which, I’ve never liked Alice herself, but loved the world and characters in the world, and that follows with this game too. It was also just fun to run around in and I LOVED the Tanta’s and only wish we could have gotten more of them, especially Olas.
I love the game. It’s chill. If the interactions weren’t so cringe and a few small changes to looting it would be better but I love the magic and combat. Advancing your spells and parkour is fun especially when you discover Mutants and new enemies. Love if it was harder in some areas but it’s just a chill game. Thing about gamers is many are very impatient and most of us are trying to get that high and nostalgic feel that just isn’t going to be found in every game. If you see most complaints are calling for not something new but not liking that things have changed. Saw so many ppl comparing it to Dead Space remake, which is good but it’s a remake. No matter how good it is they got over $60 for something you already played and you’re gassed. Ppl don’t want new, good or bad they want to just relive the old days. Why do you think COD is still around when it’s a shell of its self.
That's a perfectly good way of describing the game I'd say. As I mentioned in my review, I think everything in the game is great except for the cringe. Luckily, I was able to overlook that and just have fun, plus I really like the lore and the world. I think you're right though, COD is such a massive seller, even now. Dead Space is doing very well as far as I've seen (its not a game I'd play but I do stay up to date on these things) and yet, Forspoken is called "awful", mostly by people who haven't played it and were never going to. This industry is exhausting sometimes lol. Thanks for watching my review though! I appreciate it!👍🏻
The punching bag of 2023 so far gaming wise mostly cause one bad clip & not so good trailers I just beat it it's 6 or 7 needs work in parts like the whole random black fades out, combat, game engine, & other stuff. I feel this could've been on ps4 too. One of many things that shocked me about this game is how some people are disappointed this has an option to turn down the talking many complain about that in other games . I find it odd how many criticize the dialogue in this but not in games like hi Rush I'm pretty sure because it has a cartoon art style or atomic heart
I'm about to get the platinum in this game with two trophies left, and I absolutely love this game. It's got a few flaws, but doesn't deserve any of the hate it's gotten.
I absolutely agree. Has it had a patch recently? I just ask because a couple of trophies are bugged for me. I cant upgrade all of the spells because some of the challenges dont progress. Still though, thanks for watching my review!👍🏻
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming I haven't had an trophy glitches myself, but there is an issue with translation of spell upgrades. That's where I was having issues, but I looked it up and apparently the Japanese to English translation was done wrong for Tempest Lvl 2 and Spoof, thus far.
Not to start anything, but I feel like a lot of the vitriol given for this game from some reviewers is due to the fact they didn't get a "review copy".. that was the first thing mentioned in like 80% of the review videos... I really enjoyed the game.. Frey's wishy-washy personality was typical New Yorker.. ::ducks from shots fired:: lol
Haha! Nah man, its more than fine to voice your opinions here on this channel. Agree or disagree, its no issue here. I was never going to get a review copy at my channels size so I didnt even apply. I do get codes but the majority is self-bought. After playing the demo, I just decided to buy it and review it myself. That said, I DO think some of the bigger channels were a bit put-off by not getting a code. I can definitely see that, I also think they decided the game would be bad before it ever released. Long before the demo was available too. I think its a good open world and is worth playing regardless of if you like Frey or not. The degree to which players like Frey seems to vary greatly as well. I dont hate her and she does have some good moments but overall, I think it would have been cooler to have a created character and dialogue choices instead of Frey and her set attitude/outlook. Still though, shes not a deal breaker in my opinion. Thanks very much for watching and cheers for the comment. I greatly appreciate it!😁👍🏻
I find it odd that many of the smaller youtubers have positive things to say about this game while the bigger name ones seem to be parroting each other in their negativity. I know one thing though - this is making me subscribe to quite a few new channels, this one included. You actually sound like you gave this game a chance and that's a big thumbs up for me. While yes, there are some glaring flaws, I can't see the justification for the amount of abject hate it's gotten. Either way, good review. Also enjoying it myself. I know Frey is VERY hit or miss, but she kinda connected to me a bit as I understood where she was coming from even if she can be cringey at times.
I've noticed a similar trend actually. I've said this to a few other viewers but I think a lot of the negativity is coming from people simply parroting what they hear. I think many people decided it was bad before it ever released. I literally did that myself, I assumed it was going to be awful UNTIL, I tried the demo. I think Forspoken is a great game that people arent willing to give a chance. I mean yes, Frey isn't great (at least to me) but I thought the rest was brilliant. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch the video, commenting and of course, for subscribing. That's very nice of you to do and I hope you can enjoy my other content👍🏻
I'm on chapter 10 or 11 right now in this game and I can honestly say that I am enjoying the hell out of it I think people just didn't give this a chance and gave it bad reviews all over the place and it detoured people can actually claim through the game. The storyline is great that has lots of twists so far the scenery is beautiful there's tons of things to find an upgrade the battle system is probably the best I've played so far the parkour is awesome
I don't even find the dialogue cringe-worthy. I have my issues with the execution of the story at certain points, but it's overall pretty good. I do have issues with certain areas of the game, but I enjoyed it way, way more than Spider Man even though it isn't as polished. Also, when it comes to Frey, I think you missed a bunch of important aspects of her character that I consider masterfully done. In fact, Frey is a very consistent character. [Spoiler Alert to anyone else reading it] Frey was homeless and had no one she could count on and no one who needed her. When she ends up in a weird world, people are literally trying to kill her. She seeks Tanta Sila because she wanted to avenge Olevia, but in the end, she seems regretful. It doesn't feel good. The only reason she wanted to settle the score with Sila is because what Sila did to Olevia, an Athian version of her. I don't see how "I'm pissed and I can take you, so I'm coming, bitch" and "now I'm done and going home" is flip flopping. Frey decides not to kill Tantas anymore and sticks by it till the end - this is consistent writing. Why the hell would she go out of her way to fight the other "badass bitches?" That would make no sense at all. A character acting the way they should is not bad writing. In fact, it's the very opposite. She tries to talk to Prav, but we all know how that goes. Not her fault or her decision. We also know that she was being manipulated and put in those situations. When Bob dies, she feels bad for him. However, it also ruins her chances of returning home, which is her one true goal. After all, she ended up in a strange land where everything is trying to kill her and people want her to be a murderer. I'd wanna go home, too. When she talks to Auden and says she doesn't care, she is just having an understandable reaction. This is a very common response when you push someone to their limits and Frey is not the most patient person in the world. Frey was desperate and complaining about Breakbob's death, so Auden hears it and gets mad (understandabily so) She accuses Frey of being selfish and Frey freaks out cause that's the most altruistic that she has ever been in her life Frey says she learned early in life not to count on anyone and now everyone expects her to be a murderous hero? "Yeah, not happening." Frey's whole personality is shaped around the fact that she is not wanted by anyone so she shouldn't help anyone. She also realizes that her entire life was ruined, from before she was born, by the story's bad guy. This is why it's so perfect when she shifts from "Fuck everybody" to "Fuck Cuff" She is not angry at the world anymore, she is angry at him and you get to see who she is beneath all that in the end. It's pretty awesome writing. I still hate the fact she didn't grab that bag of money, though. It would be much funnier if she had that money in Athia and couldn't use it.
Hey there! That's one incredibly well thought out comment and I appreciate it greatly. I 100% understand the points you've made and ultimately, I think you're right. I agree shes consistent but to me, she consistently makes odd choices that I wouldnt personally make. I think she has great moments and scenes that make perfect sense but some stuff just doesnt seem or feel right. I wont waste too much of your time but I'll give an example: If I ended up in Athia with super powers after living the life she had in New York, I absolutely would NOT want to go back. She wants to be more and in Athia she is more. So I guess, if you consider her attitude, it makes sense for her to be selfish, ignore a whole world of people who need saving and just want to go home. So yea, that IS consistency, considering her life. I wouldnt feel the same but then again, I'm not her. I'm not at all discounting what you've said by the way and guess I could have worded my review better. It just seems like she wants one thing, gets it and then says she doesnt want it. I find that odd but I will admit, its a way more nuanced than that when you consider everything you know by the end. Anyway, thank you very much for the comments and for watching my video😊
It feels like everyone who has actually played the game has a completely different outlook than people who didn't 🤣🤣. Makes sense. Glad to see not everyone shitting on it.
Haha, funny how that happens isnt it? I mean, opinions are a thing right? If people genuinely dont like it or simply arent interested in playing it, then I have no issue with it. I just feel like its getting an unbalanced amount of hate. I'm pretty sure Gamespot rushed their review as well. Their play time was something like 10-12hrs, it says in their video. I dunno, I think its a perfectly good open world rpg. Thanks very much for watching my review!👍🏻
i enjoyes the game too and i love frey as realistic character. although maybe if she was a japanese girl dying of karoshi and hit by a truck to use the classic isekai trope , the game will receive high praise especialy if she isekaied into a catgirl
I got into the game from the Demo, played it for a few hours, liked it and bought it. Recently spent about 12 hours straight playing it, it really sucks you in and if it can do that it’s a good game. The power fantasy and immersion is phenomenal in this game.
I also loved this game. Glad to see some other reviewer in line with my thoughts! I actually like Frey as a character and loved the banter between cuff and her. Keep up the good work!
That's really good to hear! I really do think its a great game that, unfortunately, didnt make a good first impression before release. I believe that a lot of people decided it was bad long before it was ever released and sadly, considering Forspokens marketing, kinda makes sense. I tried the demo, really enjoyed it and so, I decided to buy the full game. I definitely dont hate Frey, although I dont exactly like her. She has some great moments in the game, without a doubt, I just think shes confusingly written. Flawed characters are one thing but I think some of Freys actions and words simply make no sense in context. I think I mentioned this in the review, but I too liked a lot of Cuffs lines and interactions, especially when you learn more about him later in the game. Anyway, thanks a lot for watching my review! I appreciate it!😊👍🏻
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming I do agree some of her dialogue is absolutely confusing for some scenes in the game and does make for somewhat weird interactions. But I do like the character overall. I think the writing team thought some of these line would hit differently but they completely missed the mark. Thx for taking the time to reply I stumbled on your video/channel last night while looking for someone with a positive take on the game. I really enjoyed the video, liked it and subscribed. Will definitely come back and watch your older videos! Keep it up!!
No problem at all, always happy to chat! Glad you liked the video, I try to be fair with everything I play. I'm not interested in internet clout or trend chasing so you'll always get my personal opinions which arent embellished by any agenda. As you're new here, I'll just say that I always structure my reviews like this. Intro, factual info on the game, personal opinions, conclusion, outro. Very happy that you enjoyed it and thank you so much for the subscription. Every single one's important😊
Thanks man, appreciate that. Yea, its an absolutely fine game with a less that stellar protagonist, that's it really. I mean sure, opinions are a thing and people are welcome to not like the game and disagree but I dunno, it just doesnt feel right in this situation. Sometimes, I see a game getting a negative reception, I play it myself and end up completely agreeing with that negative reception. However, in Forspokens case I just dont see it outside of Frey and some dialogue. Anyway, thanks a lot for watching as always!👍🏻
I heard the announcement and trailers weren't received positively for whatever reason so people went into the game WANTING to hate it. So I think people just look for things to justify that feeling. Some truly bizarre nitpicks that don't even register on other more positively receive games such as a slow start, most game start off slow? Especially story based ones? The formulaic open world? ISN'T THAT ALL OF THEM?! The swearing? So gamers are suddenly polite prudes now? I didn't care for this game at first and didn't follow the game at all. I did buy the game after playing the demo. But I'm starting to suspect it's a bandwagon effect with a sprinkle of veiled racism and misogyny. Because if you're like me if you don't care for a game you don't spend all your time in forum threads or UA-cam videos dunking on it and getting weirdly angry. Nor do you spend all the time rooting for a game you supposedly don't care for to fail. Because if you're like me, you just move on.
This game is great! Most unfairly treated game ever made.. we got something original, visually excellent, amazing music with increadible gameplay and a couple movies worth full voiced cutscenes and gamers took a crap all over it.. it's a f#$&ing tragedy. I could not disagree with the overall sentiment or treatment of this game what so ever.. the game is a 7/10 on a bad day.. more like an 8.5 imo... not 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 like people were saying.. and they said the dialog was cringe and Frey is a B when a lot of her scenes are hilarious! God I hate gamers so much
you can compare Frey t9 Shirukyi in Serial Killer Isekaied into new world manga. basically she didnt care a whit about the new world except doing the Goddess mission for her , that is to kill all evil 12 reincarnators brfore her..
Been playing it for the last couple of days, i do not understand the hate it gets. The main character might be a bit annoying and seem unpleasant in general. But she is a new yorker and homeless in my opinion she is still pretty descent compared to what life has thrown at her and in comparison to my american colleagues she is verry pleasant and helpfull 😅. Its fun to play and a nice change after playing a grind to win game like Elden Ring. But thats just my opinion
That's cool dude, its nice to know that you're having a good time with the game. I have to say, I agree lol. I suppose she isnt THAT bad when you put it like that haha! Regardless, thank you very much for watching my review! I appreciate it!😁
Great review. I like that game and have over 80 hours in running around doing combat completing challenges etc. It's a lot more fun than I thought it would be. After all the initial reviews AND the slow start, I felt maybe the nays were right. But, I kept going and found once it opened up it really was quite fun. Frey is a more complex subject. I feel that she's written to be a dour young woman. But, the writers overdid it quite a bit. Much I can understand but much I can't. So, conflicted overall on her. I don't hate her by any means. I was happy to see a female protagonist. I wish they could have done more with her though.
Sadly, formatting didn't work. Lol. Edit, I should have added that it seems that when games come out now people with a big audience can make it break a game. Opinion followers won't give anything a chance if they're told something or someone is bad.
Yea exactly, you're echoing my sentiments very closely there and I have to agree. As I said in the review, I myself wasnt expecting to like this game at all until I tried the demo. After that, I decided to play and review the full game and was suprised when I saw the hate. I was convinced that reviewers would be mixed on Frey but would like/love the rest of it. Nope, they say shes bad, the gameplay's bad, the visuals are bad, the story's bad etc etc. People have opinions and that's fair enough but I dunno, the bigger outlets and content creators views just dont seem right here. I'm not saying they did this, but it FEELS like they all got together, had a meeting and decided to absolutely murder the game. I know that's untrue but it certainly feels like it happened lol. You're right as well, so many people these days need to be told what to think. Its like, "oh Forspoken is out soon, should I be hating on this or not? I'll look it up" Its such a weird mentality to have, I would suggest those people try the demo before looking up ANYTHING from a content creator. Whatever though, this is sadly the way of the world nowadays and I'm from a time when the internet didnt exist, so I notice this stuff much more often. Thank you for watching my review and thank you for your comments, its much appreciated!😊👍🏻
basically, if you for some reason like grinding the open world in Assassin's Creed and have already played those games and you can get past frey, you'll like this. I guess that's fair. It's just, I think, a lot of people see the formula as lacking depth. I don't even like the repeatable open world content in Breath of the Wild; my tolerance for this stuff is very low.
PLAYED A FEW HOURS AND LIKED IT SO FAR(JUST RETURNED TO CITY WHERE I WAS FREED FROM PRISON W A FRIENDS FATHER SO NOT FAR INTO GAME SO MIGHT BE THIS SO HOW WILL IT BEEE ONWARD IS SOMETHING I WILL SE TONIGHT(WILL START IT UP AFTER THIS) tHE START WAS OK TO GOOD IN NEW YORK"SADLY IT WAS TO LITTLE IN THAT 1 PLACE+ALOT MORE NPCS AND STUFF WOULD BE GREAT FOR THE GAME) tHANKS 4 THIS AND NICE TO HEAR THAT ITS NOT ONLY ME THAT DONT THINK ITS TOTAL CRAP!
The sheeps hating on this game i've always found very odd. Spider Man one of my favorite games of all time is praised as being the second coming of christ yet everyone who reviewed Spider Man never criticize how incredibly awkward the dialaouge is with new york citizens. They all act like robots, yet you never hear the same of level of complaints. Unfortunately there's another issue "ADULTS" lol. Adults take the fun out of everything and many people are victims of political warfare, so there was a lot of jokes about her being a chocolate lady and the haters calling it "woke" when it's really that Anti social Justice warriors are just as sensitive as Hyper SJW'S. Frey can be cringe at times but that is HER character & are we not going to pretend that Dante from DMC doesn't have cringe moments? I love Dante but he can also be a cringe legend. Yet again you don't hear the same outrage. Unfortunately adults allow politics to intervene in everything they do & it actually brainwashes them into illogical thinking because of their biasness. Does this game have flaws? absolutely but those flaws aren't bad enough to for hiveminds to act like it's the worst game or even one of the worst games ever made. I really hope they make a 2nd one and go even harder & bigger the 2nd time. This game is totally worth $40 bucks or under imo.
Getting a game early happened to me once, I got the deluxe version of ff7 remake a week early and finished it on release day, I also go my pre order code on that day as well.
Haha nice! Its happened a few times to me from the same seller (which isn't Amazon by the way). Its an online store based here in the UK and I swear, I must live near their shipping centre or something lol. My first video on the channel to get over 1K views when I was starting out, was Biomutant. I got it about 5 days early and was able to get a video done JUST on release, it did well for me at the time. Back in the day, I think I managed to get Halo 2 a couple days early as well (although that WAS Amazon lol) Anyway, thanks for watching my review and cheers for leaving a comment. I really do appreciate your time👍🏻😊
No it wasn't actually. I didn't want to mention who it was but to be honest, I'm not a big enough channel where it would matter so I'll just tell you lol. Its a place called base.com. However, they are now called Hit (for some reason). If you just search the name or click on the link and you'll appear on the new home page. They are usually much cheaper than GAME/Amazon as well.
Beat the game i keep playing near 70 hrs level 73 stamina 800 and i play om hard and my hp can get 2 shoted at times. Game is easy and both hard. Its what ever u like. Story is really good!
Thanks very much, I appreciate you saying that and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Another UA-camr that I chat with occasionally has a very similar outlook to me, and that's Ircha Gaming. You'll see her in my comments section from time to time and she's well worth a sub if you're interested👍🏻😊
I played the ps5 version, went in blind without playing the demo, and i finished the story. There are so many things to this game that make it amazing to me. Mainly the combat and movement being satisfying. I tried to ignore the dialogue most of the time.
That's really cool to hear! Its so funny because I'm seeing a lot of people saying the same thing. Yet the narrative on places like Twitter and from larger outlets like IGN/ Gamespot is that its terrible. Strange isnt it? Anyway, I'm glad you're having fun with the game and thank you very much for watching my review!😊👍🏻
I got it. Also when you get you cloaks you can upgrade the attributes and stats. You can raise the stats to improve your health, defense and all you magic types. You can also special buffs up to 3. You can do this with you necklaces as well. I really like it and you have to gather materials you find in the world and also the materials you get from fighting enemies. I like the grading system as well. The game is really fun to have.
Oh really? I thought I tried to do that in game and it wouldn't let me. I'll jump into the game quickly to check and I'll post a pinned comment about it if it works. Thanks for the heads up. I could have sworn that I checked that multiple times but I could very well have made a mistake. Thanks again!👍🏻
Yep, you can indeed double up on the nails. I really thought I tested that multiple times but I guess I overlooked it. I tend to write my scripts after finishing the game so I may have been writing it and then forgot that you could do it. Either way, it was a mistake and I'll make a quick pinned comment to address it. Thanks very much!
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming No prob. I spent some time looking up whether skills stack on the various items so I can min-max my build (from what I read as long as its crafted on a different items the skill stacks). So when I saw your vid I wasn't sure if you knew something everyone else didn't. 👍
To be honest, i do like it as well :D Everyone was b.tching about the game, but after spending 6 hours straight i have to say, its a solid '' run around your map, collect question marks and be mighty and magical with your brain off " type of game. Protagonist is annoying sometimes, script looks like it was written by AI and the game lacks polish. But the gameplay is just fun and visuals looks great
Yea, that's exactly it. Its absolutely not a masterpiece but I do think its a fun video game, despite the flaws. I have to image that a lot of people who're saying its a bad game are individuals who HEARD it was bad, and are then repeating it without actually playing a single second of it. I mean, its barely different from AC Odyssey or any other open world game with 100s of map markers right? I dont think there's much you can say to redeem Frey herself BUT, I thought the combat, visuals, lore and story were cool. As I said in the video, everyone around her is perfectly fine but shes just, i dunno, irritating I guess. Anyway, thanks for jumping in so early to watch the review, I appreciate that!😊👍🏻
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming I don’t think Frey is a character that’s meant to be redeemed, or seem redeemable at the start, she’s simply meant to be a flawed character that’s meant to be understood, and one that I believe works for the kinda of world they were building and of which a-lot of people miss the nuance of. She’s a character suffering from unhealed trauma till the end of the story, that’s when she steps in her role. I wrote a comment addressing some of the nuance that I’ve noticed and other people have mentioned as well but it looks like it didn’t go through, so I’m just gonna copy and paste an answer I gave someone else. “Frey at her core is a good/just/kind person, but due to her background and how she grew up, she has a look out for herself mentality, she exhibits a lot of traits related to abandonement issues, low self esteeem, trauma bonding, trust issues, and falls on the avoidant side of the attachment spectrum. Frey is definitely a character one can consider self-centered, narcissistic and pompous at pompous if you lack an understanding of what’s going on and are looking at things at face value. Like I said earlier Frey lies on the avoidant side of things emotionally, and her modus operandi is to push people away and keep them away at arms length. I’m assuming you’ve seen the play through, but she clearly tells Cuff, she doesn’t trust anyone, and that people are only nice to you so they can get something in return. Seeing as dismissive avoidant are sometimes confused with narcissists I don’t find the reactions surprising. Being a reviewer who is skipping or not paying to any of the side quests,(which are largely not fetch quests btw), you skip out on a lot of the interactions and bonding that happens between Frey and the people of Athia. Personally the end of the game was emotional for me, I didn’t do all the side stuff but I did enough such that the weight and gravity and connections of the characters had more impact at the end. But being absent in this information and most of Frey’s interactions, it’s easy to see her as selfish and nigh narcissistic. Which like I said before it’s not surprising. www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-dismissive-avoidant-and-narcissistic-personality-disorder?top_ans=245872039 “Narcissist Personalities and people with personality disorders in general lack empathy. Narcissists thrive on praise from others and often self-praise. As a dismissive-avoidant person, I am uncomfortable with praise. To me, it's a sign of someone trying to bond with me, and I am inherently suspicious of their motives. I don't want nor require relationships and praise, I prefer solitude. I am also highly empathetic, I often cry for others when they're hurting, I just don't want closeness with people” This is very much how Frey is characterized in the story, you see her keep the Athian people at arms length, which makes sense they literally tried to kill her, and then imprisoned her when she first got here, but even then you don’t see her treat them horribly, they start treating her better after she says she’ll face off against Tanta Sila herself, and people start calling her Hero wherein she immediately calls them off, that’s where most of her “abrasive” and “rude” interactions comes from. She states clearly and equivocally, “I am not your hero”, nor does she want to be. She refuses to take on the town and people of Athia’s burdens and people might see this as a result or a lack of character growth, but the story does a flip on this that I’ll get to later. At the end of the day, Frey is a character from NYC, with her own trauma and fears, literally living in a nightmare world with Zombies everywhere that are trying to kill her. Yet despite all this she keeps pushing through and is relatively non rude to everyone, even those who imprisoned her. But despite this, it’s ironic you don’t think highly of her, or perhaps reviewers don’t, it’s ironic because you are just like Frey, Frey has low self esteem and so has a negative view of herself despite many of her positive traits, she sees herself as selfish, despite literally sacrificing herself for a group of townspeople she’s never met, but not only that, she also feels she’s not up for the task. And is why she pushes away all these people who try to put on this responsibility upon her. She literally has a nightmare where all her friends around call her selfish and that they wish she had turned up different, and that they can’t rely on her, and she agrees with them. Frey doesn’t want to fail on other people, in the same way she believes other people will fail her. I think the people who are saying Frey has no character arc either aren’t paying attention to the story or being disingenuine. Frey’s arc is going from hating Athia, warming up to its people and culture but not wanting to shoulder on that responsibility, to completely wanting to go back home and run away from it all, to finally stepping into her role and the duty that comes along with the powers you were giving, mimicking the lesson the judge told her about in the first beat of the story. I think the writers did a good job on how they wrote Frey, they don’t shove down your throat her Trauma and the emotionally connective moments is left to side content as it can be boring, (which I kinda prefer cause it’s something I would skip in replays). Overall Frey is a very much nuance character and the writing of this show and its themes are well done, so it’s ironic that people would call what is nuanced and realistic writing bad, just because the story doesn’t go their way. It’s easy for people who are not invested in Frey as a character (most people aren’t, new IP and this character has been hated on before even the game came out and all we knew was some dialogue), state the character progression or change should’ve come earlier. But to me they could’ve not have brought it earlier without hurting the story and main themes, Frey as a character truly steps in her role when her trauma eventually gets addressed, and that isn’t something that makes sense until later in the story, and you’ll know what I mean when I get there. Some of the major themes of this story overall are community, duty, trust and responsibility. It’s a coming of age story in it’s own right, except not of childhood to adulthood, but of scarred to healed/healing. For not just Frey, at the end of the story, one of the councilors tells Frey that the people of Athia will not solely rely on her but put in the same effort, they will all do their part, take on their own responsibility as well in what it means to protect and rebuild Athia, on that note it’s important to understand also, Frey has trust issues, the people here put her in prison, and now they call her their savior. We already established that people are only nice to you so they can get something return, so it begs the question are the people of Athia being nice to Frey out of genuine kindness, or out of self interest since she’s their only hope, will Frey ever see it as the former and ever the latter with her Trauma still present? See there are a lot of subtleties and complexes in the story, , and what mean by that is, people have biases, people will instinctively search for evidences that affirm those biases, even if they don’t make sense. Frey is mean is another one of them. Hell, I was watching the Asmongold plathrough and it’s funny that he calls out Frey for being a thief, even stealing an apple, after the end of the game if you keep on playing you try to steal an apple again and the council woman admonishes you and gives you a lecture on the important of apples, Lol, it’s a very comedic moment. So the story is very much aware of Frey’s flaws and doesn’t try to act like she’s the most virtuous of person, and I think arguments that state video game characters have to fit a specific mold truly hinders creativity in the industry. Anyways I hope this was a helpful take” Frey I believe is the right type of protagonist of this story and the perfect foil to these villains, Susurrus means whisper, all the Tantas mentally broke overtime due to the whispers of Susurrus, but Frey being a character that has been through trauma, starts the story already broken. There’s nothing Susurrus can say to her that she’s not already whispered to herself. In a way she and cuff very much mirror mob and dimple from mob psycho 100 if you’ve seen that show, they’re characters who are unaffected by the whispering of the villain they defeat due to their trauma and how they choose to deal with it. And if they’re going that route, that’s what has me most excited for a sequel with Frey and Cuff, I believe, we can expect a sequel would follow a similar path and expand on this relationship, whereby it’s Frey who begins to influence Susurrus not the other way around. There’s probably alot I skipped, such as the ending monologue and how it showcases her regaining her self esteem. I personally think contradictory characters are a hallmark of a good story, because real human beings are inherently contradictory and hypocritical, it prompts discussion, and Forspoken does a good job in illustrating Frey as such. It’s a type of fiction that requires the audience to be willing to do the work. There aren’t many works of fiction I see address trauma like this in fiction. Largely these roles are relegated to side characters who are then saved by the all perfect main character who somehow shows them the flaws of their self hating ways.
Luminous studio crafted something really special here. This game’s combat system is one of the few that does not bore me to death, unlike the majority of action RPG games.
I definitely agree with that. I just feel like this game is SO much better than lots of other reviews say. It seems like only mainstream outlets and BIG content creators think its bad, which in my opinion, says a lot. Its a great open world game but I'm sad to say that the negative press MAY have killed it (along with any chance of a sequel). Still though, thank you for watching my review and for your comment😁
I know!!! We got perhaps the best rpg magic combat ever made and people gave the game a 4 out of 10.. makes me want to just go around to "gamers" houses and start beating them..
@@KamalaChameleon uh plz don’t do that. But I understand you. The combat is the game best quality. Even the weak points of the game arent that bad either.
Glad to hear it!👍🏻 Yea, I mean, I dont hate her at all. There was some really cool parts and sections where I absolutely was on board with her as the protagonist, but there were just as many parts that I found annoying and nonsensical. Does it matter that much? No, not really. The rest of the game was stellar in my opinion so overall, I'm happy with it😊. Thanks for watching!
Thank you very much for watching the review! As I said in the review, it might be a good idea to play the demo if you can. I hope you enjoy the game if you do decide to pick it up😊
I agree wholeheartedly on everything thing you've said about this game. I too have finished it and am still playing it. I also do not like Frey (the main character) but loovvveee the gameplay and traversal system
That's awesome! Glad you're having so much fun with it! That's the thing though isnt it? The main character seems to be disliked by, I'd say, most players right? That's fine but the gameplay, the story, the world and the combat are all brilliant, at least in my view. I think a lot of the bigger names out there found a small thing they really hated, like Frey and her dialogue, then because of that ended up hating everything else and writing off the game entirely. From what I'm seeing that, seems to be what's going on and I think they decided it was bad before they ever played it. Still though, we liked it and that's what's important😊
Hey there, I dont actually create content anymore, due to bad health, but I'm happy to try and help if I can. If you enjoy Sword and Fairy 7, I would suggest perhaps trying Xuan Yuan Sword 7. I have a review of that game on my channel. On top of that, if you like action/ adventure RPGs, I would 100% recommend Tales of Arise. The story of that game alone had me totally hooked and the combat is fun too. I have a video on the channel for that as well, plus there's a free demo for PS4/5 so you can try it out. Hope that helps!
Everytime some says open world my mind goes to Metroid style games where you "open the world" as you progress. I do not think of sandbox games. Thanks for the review, i might try the demo out. The game has caught my interest, cant hurt to try the demo though.
Haha, I can understand that. Metroid games are generally considered side-scrolling action adventure games in the same way that Castlevania is. As you probably know, both those games together spawned their own genre known as "Metroidvania". Open world games are things like Assassins Creed, Forspoken, Skyrim, Elden Ring, Breath of the Wild, GTA, etc etc. Sandbox usually refers to games like Minecraft, Terraria, Goat Simulator, etc but you can combine the 2. I've seen lots of games called an "open world sandbox game". So yea, you can kinda use it for either😊. Thank you for watching!
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming I still only use MetroidVania for Castlevania games. Also the very first time i saw "open world" used was for Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver, which they compared to Metroid.
I found it to be perfectly fine. I played on Performance Mode in both the demo and the full game. That mode has a dynamic resolution of 1440p at its highest, and 720p at its lowest. It also targets 60fps. 720p sounds pretty bad but if I hadn't of known about it, I would never have believed it. Game looked gorgeous to me throughout but to be honest, resolution is one of those things I barely notice. If I had a still image of 1440p vs 720p and I closely analysed it, sure, I could probably point out the difference. When playing the game though, I cant tell at all. Same goes for 1440p vs 4K actually. frame rate is is something that I can notice while playing. The game targets 60fps and while I dont have any tools that can properly measure it, it seems to run fine to me. There's a couple of dips here and there during heavy combat and weather effects but again, nothing that I was ever bothered by. I hope that helps, thanks for watching!
I played the demo, at length. I had no problem buying this game after that. I would buy a Forspoken 2 applying player feedback from 1. It is a good game.
That's awesome to hear, glad you've had a good time with it. Yea, a second game would be great, maybe based in another world with new protag or maybe even 100s of years after Frey helps to rebuild the world. Regardless, I'm interested😊 Cheers for watching!
Es un juego que hace algunas cosas de forma regular, pero tiene una movilidad y combate increíble, lleno de profundidad y opciones, lo he disfrutado muchísimo jugándolo en “difícil “
I dont speak Spanish but using Google Translate, I do understand your comment. I hope this is correct: Estoy feliz de que estés disfrutando del juego. Gracias por visualizar mi video😊
Good review! Always important that the dissenting opinion be voiced, as people have different preferences and tolerances. I’ve been kinda curious about this game (despite not having a PS5) precisely because people had such negative impressions of the protagonist. After all, some of my favorite games have protags with, uh… Some growing to do, over the course of their stories. (“Tales of the Abyss,” and “The World Ends With You,” for example.) In this instance, do you think the game knows the protagonist is annoying? Like, does it feel like we’re supposed to agree/sympathize with the other characters when/if they butt heads with her? Or did it just feel like her character ended up less likable than the writers intended?
Thanks very much and I completely agree. I'm trying to get anyone to switch their viewpoints but I do think its important to voice both sides of the discussion. To answer your question, its hard to say for sure. However, in my opinion, I feel like the writers wanted her to feel like a sort of badass, super hero. Basically, I think they wanted to emulate the heroes you'd find in the MCU and simply werent able to do so. That said, there are a few times where the other characters are angry at her for the choices she makes and THOSE sections, I believe, are exactly what you mentioned. They want her to argue with the other characters and it does make sense. The problem is that Frey learns a lesson from that interaction and realises she was wrong, THEN, does it again and again. If it happened once, or maybe even twice I would be able to understand it. Imagine she learns from it but then suffers a large defeat, doubts herself and slips back into her old ways. Shes then able to overcome the doubt and thus, the enemy, becoming the hero she was meant to be. Sadly, that's not really how it goes, even right at the end shes not that likeable. There's some nice moments but there were so many times where she would just be randomly agressive to people who were helping her and I literally said outloud, multiple times "Why though?". I wont pretend like shes the worst character Ive ever seen BUT, I didnt enjoy her as the protag for the vast majority of the game. Thanks very much for watching, I always appreciate seeing you in the comments!👍🏻😊
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming Sure thing, thanks for helping me be better informed about games! And gotcha, that’s a shame about the direction they took with her character. I was kinda hoping for a “guarded jokester learns to be sincere/allow herself to be relied upon” kinda arc for her, just based on prerelease stuff, but sounds like they had something else in mind. Plus it sounds like it wasn’t a lack of care on the writer’s part, given the apparently impressive lore, so I always hate to see passion miss the mark in execution. Oh well, may not be what I wanted, but I’m glad you were able to enjoy it!
I think the fact that she is "annoying" is a plus since it makes her journey way more interesting tbh. I can relate very much to her, so I actually think she is a great character.
The problem for me is this game isn't optimised for the pc. After looking at your review I want to play it, but the low textures on rocks and bad frame rates has put me off a lot. If I did have a ps5 then I would be playing it about right now. By the way my ancient dieing pc finally died, it took out a tv a keyboard an ssd and finally it's own psu lol. Luckily I also have a laptop and a high spec pc on the cloud.
Yea, that makes sense. Obviously, I haven't played it on PC at all, but I havent seen too many negatives about the PC version either. I knew it wasnt great but what's the main issue? Is it the frame rate stuff? The PS5 version runs perfectly well and I didnt notice too many bad textures, at least not anything I hadn't seen before in other games. I just cant mess with gaming PC stuff these days lol. Consoles usually just work and that suits me fine, even if they arent always the best for frame rates and graphics. Hopefully, it'll get patched on PC and be playable, at least for the most part. Oh god, your PC decided to kick the bucket huh? Sorry to hear that dude, you planning on picking up a new one when you can? Or maybe a PS5? lol. Cheers for watching though my friend, appreciate it as usual😊
I agree that the reviewers review of this game was harsher than what i experienced. I actually liked it and thought the game mechanics were solid. I think the expectation now is that a "triple AAA" game is going to be the next God of War Ragnorak and when we don't get that experience the game is not worth it. It definitely had more good elements than bad ones in my opinion. I however, diverge from you with respect to Frey's characterization, and dialogue and though cringe at times (which lets be honest which japanese to english translation is not cringe) i found her actions to match her characterizations, in that she was an abandoned child, felt to not be wanted and always having to feel that people just want you for something but not who you are. She was deeply mistrusting and felt that anytime she got involved it would blow up in her face, so why bother. I think she does grow out of that come towards the end, where in the story it calls for her to become aware and grow. She may have wanted to leave NY but certainly did not find Athia to be an escape she preferred. People griped about her relationship with Cuff, but again based on the story i can completely understand their quarrelling and bickering relationship. I also platinumed it, all the trophies worked except i noticed that the english translation for one of the spell upgrades was incorrect for Olas surge magic level 2, you have to be in critical health mode (when you lose all your health and the screen cracks) to execute that command. When i did that, the challenge was satisfied.
That's absolutely fair, everyone's different and I dont expect the entire world to agree with me or my opinions. I quite enjoy hearing other players opinions, such as yours. For me, Forspoken is something I would play over God of War Ragnarok every time. I had zero interest in Ragnarok, I beat GOW2018 but didnt really like it very much so never bothered with Ragnarok. Forspoken felt SO much more interesting and fun to play but again, that's just me. Its not factual, its just how I personally felt. In regards to Frey, yea, I take those comments on board. I suppose it comes down to how the player thinks they might feel in her situation. Considering what she wanted and who she was, I thought she'd be happy to end up where she did. I know I would have been so I sort of expect her to as well. That said, I'm not her so I may not have reacted the same. I cant really put my finger on it, her actions and words just didnt seem to mesh with what was happening, it just felt "off" to me. I didn't realise it was a translation issue at the time of the review which is why I wasnt able to get them to complete. I had a few of the skills not count when I fulfilled the conditions, some of the Water ones for example, but I eventually got them all, so its all good now. When it comes to translations I'm usually a dub over sub guy although I dont mind watching either. I watch a good amount of anime/ play anime based games and I always go for English dubs when they're available. Its not really a quality based choice for me, its just for preference and watchability. I simply dont enjoy reading the subtitles while I'm watching an anime show BUT, if its a Japanese LIVE ACTION show/ movie, I will ALWAYS choose the original Japanese voices with subtitles. Anyway, thank you very much for watching my review and for your comment! I'm very grateful for it!😊👍🏻
Haha, yea I understand that. Yep, I'm sure that there's a large number of people being negative about it because they heard it somewhere, its very odd. Thank you for watching my review!😊
Sounds like the game (play) part is fine, but if the main character is insufferable, especially when there is narrative, I wouldn't be giving the game (*any* game) any of my time... Adult responsibilities exist, and there are not enough hours in the day; there are simply other, and better, fish in the sea. Glad you enjoyed your time with it though! Since (personal) fun is the essence when it comes to gaming! ✌️
Oh! Forgot to mention, if you are looking for *good* MC/sidekick banter in games, I wholeheartedly recommend Shadows of the Damned (360/PS3 era). Garcia "Fucking" Hotspur 😆 and Johnson are among my favourite duos in gaming. And yup, just by looking at these names, you already know it's gonna be low brow 😁.
Completely understand😊. If there's an element that puts you off and you're not interested in playing it, I think that's more than fair. I like it but obviously, I get that not everyone is going to feel the same way. Anyway, thanks very much for watching my review👍🏻
Picked up the game for PC and LOVED IT! Frey and Cuff just have horrible interactions. you would have thought they would have found some common ground through the story but they don't. WAY too many F bombs.
I have to agree with you there. I think its a great and interesting open world game but Frey doesnt work for me. Cuff is...not as bad....I guess. I thought he was pretty funny from time to time and I like the voice work. His sarcastic tone with Frey makes sense once you've finished the game. The swearing doesnt bother me too much but you'd thing she'd start to lower the amount after getting more comfortable in her new surroundings. Shes a street rat from present day New York City so I'd probably be more surprised if she DIDN'T swear like a sailor haha. Anyway, thanks very much for watching and for your comment!😊
Agreed, its definitely a shame. I do think that a lot of the negativity is coming from people simply parroting what they hear. What can you do though, it happens. Anyway, thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the game👍🏻
Yea, I've heard some people are having issues with a steady frame rate, especially on PC. As I said in the video, I played this for over 40hrs on PS5 and I rarely had any issues. When I did, it was a VERY minor frame drop for a split second and that was it. Hopefully, a patch will smooth things out for everyone at somepoint because I do think its a far better game than people would have you believe. Thanks for watching!
That does seem to be the case, unfortunately. I think its a perfectly good open world rpg that a lot of people chose to dislike before it ever released. Sadly, that narrative spread, people convinced themselves that it was true and here we are. Its not a masterpiece or even a must-play BUT, I do think its brilliant. Its SO much better than most people believe. Anyway, thank you for watching my review, I greatly appreciate your time and your comment👍🏻😊
Haha, that's true! Not many "triple A" games get released in a finished state these days so in those terms, Forspoken is a bit of a unicorn lol Thank you for watching my review!
Fantastic review. Most of what I've seen, like the unchallenging combat and bratty main character, are not to my liking but I'm willing to give it a try after a rather steep sale.
Thank you very much! Even though you're not super interested in it, I appreciate you watching the review and being respectful. If you have a PS5 or PC, it may be worth trying the demo if you can? But yea, if you can ignore Frey, I'd say its well worth picking up on sale. Hopefully you'll like it but if not, hey, at least you gave it a try! We're all different and all I can do is give my opinion on it😊
Yeah I concur with LoL Noob. The game has a ton of accessibility options, which means more than likely by default the "Normal" mode is meant to not be extremely challenging in the first place. I dove directly into Hard and yeah, enemies are not pushovers. Sure, zombies won't give you trouble, but most everything else will take you down if you're not careful and not upgrading your equipment well.
@@soulechelon2643 at level 60+ currently playing on hard with significantly increased damage and I sometimes dies to the mutant bosses in the early areas if I misplay
Actually love this game. Simply dont understand the reception. Yeah shes not a great character but damn give me fantasy adventures like this more often please.
Between the trailers and reviews, both positive and negative, this strikes me as a title with gameplay I would enjoy but cutscenes I would hate I suppose this is a mid game that has a lot of extra hate because the last 5 years or so writing in media has suddenly started sucking big time, with this title being just the latest example
Haha, sooooo many more than you'd ever expect!😁 I thought she'd swear less as time went on and she got more comfortable. I mean, you could understand swearing and freaking out when you're transported to a world with a dragon in it lol. Plus, shes a modern day New Yorker who's basically homeless, so I absolutely expect her to have a foul mouth LOL.
That's absolutely a fair point and I completely understand it. I personally really enjoy open world busy work and repeated activities. I find it fun, not sure why. Not everyone does though and that's perfectly fine. Thanks for watching!
I picked it up on sale and wow did they trash this game for no reason. Skip the cutscenes, turn Cuff chatter to minimal, and enjoy the awesome traversal and combat.
Haha, I do feel like she could have picked that bag up before leaving the room but you know! I suppose they had to do that for the rest of the plot to happen lol. That said, I purchased the game (physical) and overall, I'm more than happy with what I got. You're welcome to dislike the game though, we're all different.
That's on a bean!!! I mess with this whole comment my bul. Game is fire people just all cap for clou, game is great!
Im glad to find a reviewer that actually talk about the mechanics. Keep the good work.
Thanks man, very nice of you. Thank you for watching!😊
I know right
Agree with you!
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming I'm playing it now like crazy 😁👍👍
How is Frey's dialogue any worse than 'South Park' or 'Doom Patrol'?
I appreciate it!👍🏻
What's wrong with looting.. you can easily turn on auto loot..
Forspoken is is a 8.5/10 the main character Frey has a lot of pain from her past and hurt Pple just hurt other Pple so the way she acts makes sense
Thank God Fire Emblem exist...
[Spoiler Alert to anyone else reading it]
Frey was homeless and had no one she could count on and no one who needed her.
Frey was desperate and complaining about Breakbob's death, so Auden hears it and gets mad (understandabily so)
She accuses Frey of being selfish and Frey freaks out cause that's the most altruistic that she has ever been in her life
Frey says she learned early in life not to count on anyone and now everyone expects her to be a murderous hero? "Yeah, not happening."
Frey's whole personality is shaped around the fact that she is not wanted by anyone so she shouldn't help anyone.
She also realizes that her entire life was ruined, from before she was born, by the story's bad guy.
This is why it's so perfect when she shifts from "Fuck everybody" to "Fuck Cuff"
She is not angry at the world anymore, she is angry at him and you get to see who she is beneath all that in the end.
I wont waste too much of your time but I'll give an example:
If I ended up in Athia with super powers after living the life she had in New York, I absolutely would NOT want to go back.
In the end of the game, I am really interested to see the dlc prequel.
i enjoyes the game too and i love frey as realistic character. although maybe if she was a japanese girl dying of karoshi and hit by a truck to use the classic isekai trope , the game will receive high praise especialy if she isekaied into a catgirl
Companies should never listen to you
Good review, mate. It's on my to buy list. Enjoyed the demo, don't get all the hate, personally.
@@sor3999 I'm definitely like you. Great post
@@sor3999 cope and seethe
I'll look it up"
Its such a weird mentality to have, I would suggest those people try the demo before looking up ANYTHING from a content creator.
PLAYED A FEW HOURS AND LIKED IT SO FAR(JUST RETURNED TO CITY WHERE I WAS FREED FROM PRISON W A FRIENDS FATHER SO NOT FAR INTO GAME SO MIGHT BE THIS SO HOW WILL IT BEEE ONWARD IS SOMETHING I WILL SE TONIGHT(WILL START IT UP AFTER THIS)
tHE START WAS OK TO GOOD IN NEW YORK"SADLY IT WAS TO LITTLE IN THAT 1 PLACE+ALOT MORE NPCS AND STUFF WOULD BE GREAT FOR THE GAME)
tHANKS 4 THIS AND NICE TO HEAR THAT ITS NOT ONLY ME THAT DONT THINK ITS TOTAL CRAP!
Finally someone not on the train of hatred and a nice review
Thanks man, appreciate that!👍🏻Thanks for watching!
I really do appreciate your time👍🏻😊
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming was it GAME? because that who I preorded ff7 remake from
No it wasn't actually.

I am not sure about the nails not stackinig part. Every other source I have checked says the nail effects do stack.
Which like I said before it’s not surprising.
www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-dismissive-avoidant-and-narcissistic-personality-disorder?top_ans=245872039
“Narcissist Personalities and people with personality disorders in general lack empathy.
I am also highly empathetic, I often cry for others when they're hurting, I just don't want closeness with people”
This is very much how Frey is characterized in the story, you see her keep the Athian people at arms length, which makes sense they literally tried to kill her, and then imprisoned her when she first got here, but even then you don’t see her treat them horribly, they start treating her better after she says she’ll face off against Tanta Sila herself, and people start calling her Hero wherein she immediately calls them off, that’s where most of her “abrasive” and “rude” interactions comes from.
See there are a lot of subtleties and complexes in the story,
, and what mean by that is, people have biases, people will instinctively search for evidences that affirm those biases, even if they don’t make sense.
Anyways I hope this was a helpful take”
Frey I believe is the right type of protagonist of this story and the perfect foil to these villains, Susurrus means whisper, all the Tantas mentally broke overtime due to the whispers of Susurrus, but Frey being a character that has been through trauma, starts the story already broken.

Glad to hear it!👍🏻 Yea, I mean, I dont hate her at all. There was some really cool parts and sections where I absolutely was on board with her as the protagonist, but there were just as many parts that I found annoying and nonsensical.
I like the game and Frey also!!
Glad to hear it!👍🏻😊
If I like this and Sword and Fairy 7, do you recommend any other games for PS5 and PS4?
How's the performance on ps5? The demo ran kinda assy. Performance mode wasnt too bad but it looked blurry/hazey.
Finaly someone that likes this game
(“Tales of the Abyss,” and “The World Ends With You,” for example.)
In this instance, do you think the game knows the protagonist is annoying?
I'm very grateful for it!😊👍🏻
I want a ps5 just to see for music) myself.. Some of these guys hate some games just to hate..
I love the game, sad it’s so hated.
Agreed, its definitely a shame. I do think that a lot of the negativity is coming from people simply parroting what they hear. What can you do though, it happens. Anyway, thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the game👍🏻
Just wish it could run at a steady 60 fps
Yea, I've heard some people are having issues with a steady frame rate, especially on PC. As I said in the video, I played this for over 40hrs on PS5 and I rarely had any issues. When I did, it was a VERY minor frame drop for a split second and that was it. Hopefully, a patch will smooth things out for everyone at somepoint because I do think its a far better game than people would have you believe. Thanks for watching!
The game is really good. Just a console war casualty from all the brainless fanboys who plague the gaming world
That does seem to be the case, unfortunately.
I like this game. It released and it's not broken so that's a big win to me. Also I actually feel like I'm playing a PS5 for a change.
Haha, that's true! Not many "triple A" games get released in a finished state these days so in those terms, Forspoken is a bit of a unicorn lol Thank you for watching my review!
I’m loving it
Good to hear!😊
Fantastic review. Most of what I've seen, like the unchallenging combat and bratty main character, are not to my liking but I'm willing to give it a try after a rather steep sale.
Thank you very much! Even though you're not super interested in it, I appreciate you watching the review and being respectful. If you have a PS5 or PC, it may be worth trying the demo if you can? But yea, if you can ignore Frey, I'd say its well worth picking up on sale. Hopefully you'll like it but if not, hey, at least you gave it a try! We're all different and all I can do is give my opinion on it😊
The combat isn’t unchallenging, most people aren’t even playing on the hardest difficulty
@@lolnoob5015 da GAWD DAMN GOLIATHS PISS ME OFF 😡 one stomp and my WHOLE HEALTH BAR IS GONE….love hard mode 😂😂
Actually love this game. Simply dont understand the reception. Yeah shes not a great character but damn give me fantasy adventures like this more often please.
Waiting a bit to get it
Between the trailers and reviews, both positive and negative, this strikes me as a title with gameplay I would enjoy but cutscenes I would hate
I suppose this is a mid game that has a lot of extra hate because the last 5 years or so writing in media has suddenly started sucking big time, with this title being just the latest example
I love this game for the product it is! The gameplay is a Blast!
Hope you review Hogwarts legacy bro
Working on it right now actually!😊👍🏻
sooo !! How many F Bombs were in this game ? 😎
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming ouf , imagine if she was a Chem user , ouch
one of the best games hands down.
I love this game
It was a message in the story that's why you guys don't get it
I love the game!!!
I like it just don't like all the repeated activities
That's absolutely a fair point and I completely understand it. I personally really enjoy open world busy work and repeated activities. I find it fun, not sure why. Not everyone does though and that's perfectly fine. Thanks for watching!
I picked it up on sale and wow did they trash this game for no reason. Skip the cutscenes, turn Cuff chatter to minimal, and enjoy the awesome traversal and combat.
You are not serious
The burned duffel bag of money is a metaphor for everyone who purchased this game.
Haha, I do feel like she could have picked that bag up before leaving the room but you know! I suppose they had to do that for the rest of the plot to happen lol. That said, I purchased the game (physical) and overall, I'm more than happy with what I got. You're welcome to dislike the game though, we're all different.
