    Thanks for this. I just got into warcry this year and your advice as well as several other channels have helped me out a lot.

      @@thesaltyseagamesHey, another new player/sub here and just have some questions on your Sylvaneth/Questor-warband :P
      1. Can you please explain the "Ferocious" part of the Huntsmaster and how it adds 30 points to his cost? Also, is it bad to use a sword to save points (245p with Ferocious+greatsword), or is it a lot worse without the added radius of the scythe?
      2. Is it a bad idea to swap the regular Kurnoth Hunter (185p) for a Gossamid Archer (130p) or Branchwraith/wych for some mobility and range for even more points to spare?
      Because with these changes to the list in the video makes it possible to add another unit to make it a 8 member team, so is something like these two lists viable/good or just simply worse? 😅
      Example #1
      ”Ferocious” Kurnoth Huntsmaster w/Scythe (275 p)
      Gossamid Archer (130 p)
      Errant Questor w/Grandhammer (165 p)
      Errant Questor Duelist (160 p)
      3x Tree Revenants (195 p)
      Spite Revenants (75 p)
      Total: 1000 p
      OR
      Example #2
      ”Ferocious” Kurnoth Huntsmaster w/Greatsword (245 p)
      Branchwraith/Branchwych (145 p)
      Errant Questor w/Grandhammer (165 p)
      Errant Questor Duelist (160 p)
      2x Tree Revenants (130 p)
      2x Spite Revenants (150 p)
      Total: 995 p
      I'm not really super competitive but it can't hurt to have a decent team to use in smaller local tournaments and for fun with friends.

      The sword kurnoth is fine. @@Mike-er5ws "Ferocious" is a divine blessing. They're a supplement for matched play that came out in a recent white dwarf.

      @@thesaltyseagames Allright thanks! Just wondering, is the changes I made to your list just worse or would they work? I know I lose some tankiness and power if I take out the regular Kurnoth Hunter but I just love the Gossamid and would like to use it + I also gain another tree-rev with the rest of the points.

    As an avid Kill Team player just starting out in Warcry, I totally agree that discussion of one-box builds is hella boring and I'm super comfortable with buying two boxes of a bespoke warband just to have the options I want. Kill Team doesn't have much in the way of list building as you said, but most teams in Kill Team actually do want two boxes to be competitive (and there are some recent ones that want more than that).
    Thank you for your quality content, these videos have really helped me understand and begin to enjoy this game. :)

    • @Ketiseb
      @Ketiseb Місяць тому

      Which are the kill teams that want two boxes to be competitive in a game where specialist number is limited to 1? Vetguard and Blooded because of extras and Inquisition because for some unknown reason Inquisition is priced as full team despite being 7-miniature set and needing another box purposefully? They dont even have list building, it was "navis all the way" from the get go. You are praising your wallet being thinned for God's sake, thats silly to be very soft with words.

    • @naitp
      @naitp Місяць тому

      @@Ketiseb Vet guard, novitiates, Pathfinders, corsairs, Phobos, blooded all benefit from expanding beyond the models in one box and building a roster. And that's just the first season.
      I meant what I said: one box list building is boring. Building a roster is fun! I feel like a lot of KT players miss out on it and that's unfortunate.
      I'm enthused to see that two-box bespoke lists in warcry might be even more common now that we have battle traits. Dunno how that will shake out.

    I have started using the Questors in a SCE paladins warband, which functions reasonably well:
    Lord Imperatant
    Questor W Grandhammer
    Annihilator Prime W Shield
    X2 Annihilator W shield
    Annihiglator W Grandhammer

    Wonderful Video Dan. As always. Tha ks for all you do for the Warcry community brother.
    I had a question I hope you'd be able to answer.
    This is regarding Narrative play.
    If your leader is the Great Wight on Steed. And you take the Rulers of Death quest from WD 489. And pick Blood Crazed Heroic Trait (+3 damage to each crit damage), would you be able to stack that with his DOUBLE Ability "Beheading Strike"?
    Basically does the same thing. But you pay for it with your ability dice.
    Your the most knowledgeable Cat I know of regarding ALL that is WARCRY. LOL
    PLEASE HELP ME SALTY DAN, YOUR MY ONLY HOPE.
    LOL Anyways. Thanks again for all you do. Keep up the great work

    The Barons ability is on a double, so it can pair with a varghulf.

    Personally I like the pick and mix of allies because it adds more depth to a pretty simple game and allows me to develope the theme of a warband more than is on offer from a singular kit. Particularly it's the theming part that gets me going; for example taling a DoK snake and converting into a Slaaneshi Chaos lord for my Hedonites, or bringing a Beast of Nurgle as a summoned pet for my Rotmire Creed, or a Minotaur Chaos Spawn for Horns of Hashut.
    Your Direwolves with the Askurgans is perfectly on point to me; the serve as loyal hunting dogs and all are still a part of the larger Soulblight range so as far as I'm concerned it barely even counts as allying.
    Factions like the Unmade have so few options that it's practically a necessity to ally to get any real variety. Since I know these bespoke bands will pretty much never get Necromunda style expansions with more units I will frequently do conversions of Hedonites and Slaves to Darkness to fit the warband to meet that desire for variety, and I find a lot of excitement freedom and creativity in meeting it (as well as an excuse to grab all sorts of sweet sculpts from all over the miniatures space).

    Also good(ish) Questor list that does have play - 2 questors w hammers, 2 duelists, kixitaka, tok, otopatl and xepic. Against hordes you can kill chaff fast enough, there is enough burst to kill titans if needed. Basically Thunderskinks list, but less toughness and we can get from point A to point be without doubles :)
    There is also one incredibly stupid list that involves spamming of relictors(we take 3, Thundrik, Ironhail and that 70 pt arkanaut dorf and then maybe Company Captain(not sure) and then you raise strength for 3 guys, or Skink Priest or Kixi - for move 6 or treasures...and double maybe). And then we just shoot people. If they come close we hit them with hammers instead. Very stupid...but it's also a list consisting of bunch of clergy and bankers... Think of the meme potential(this I haven't tried yetbut it's definitely on my to do list :D).

      I decided not to do any Starblood lists bc their strictly worse than what Starblood can achieve in thunderstrike or Warrior chamber, but certainly if I were dead set on running more than 2 QS, that's what I'd do. I'd certainly quibble with your opinion that they can "kill chaff fast enough" or have "enough burst to kill titans" though, that is definitely not true (and even thunderskinks doesn't really kill m3 chaff or titans fast enough to be competitive, if we're being honest).

    • @MartinCimba
      @MartinCimba 10 місяців тому +1

      @@DaronSchmit They aren't very good unfortunately. It comes down to awful cheap fighters. Everything other than Exemplar or Curseblood should have either +3-5 Wounds or be 15-20 points cheaper. Unfortunately all "glass cannon" warbands this edition are all glass, no cannon(except Beastflayers - those work) - DoK, Idoneth, Claws of Karanak, Khainite Shadowstalkers, Askurgans - they all are bad with maybe one or 2 heroes people take.

  • @MartinCimba
    @MartinCimba 10 місяців тому +1

    Why Offal Hounds ?? They are awful, even Ghoul Squires are better than ghoulrillas, they can clear chaff against some warbands kinda well(but I only take them to gimp my list to be honest but even then they have some role, baboons bring nothing I want when I play with my Beastflayers :D).
    As far as I am concerned there are only 3 Beastflayer fighters - Flaymaster, baron and tracker, rest of models is for AoS.
