Nighthaunt, Sharpener of the Blade with str or attack blessing, crits for 6 and ability that adds 2 damage to crit for Weilder of the Blade. Ironjaws, bring Boggle eye as a net for melee, force them to wait twice or use and ability then wait.
The biggest tip for NH for me is the Wielder charge into 2 attacks Otherwise sequencing is so huge and playing scared/projecting power across the board is the big thing for NH in my experience. Its what you can kill (most of the time) Its what you can get to and what you can orevent your opponent frkm getting to. I think NH are going to struggle bug time if they arent the ones setting the tempo.
Try proxying the tree-revenant with waypipes as Karthaen for that Sylvaneth list! That way your whole warband stays on theme and you can tell which one has the instrument.
You might not be a fan of Toughness buffs, but hear me out. The Bonesplitterz' _Beast-Spirit Ju-ju_ is a double, and serves to bring members of your warband past two important thresholds. First, it brings your non-Hero damage dealers (including the man himself) from T3 to T4; second, it turns your henchmen into T5 15W true meatshields. This can put the whole warband on another level. In the list in the video, one would have to forego the second blessing and find 5 points somewhere else (leader/blessing) in order to upgrade that Morboy into the Totem Bearer that has the ability -- a little pricey, but he has the same damage output on a 3" reach. If you're willing to give up the pig (who can wind up overextended -- in danger and unable to provide _Waaagh!_ for the team), you can trade it for a fighty foot hero and a bunch of blessings, or another shield and a Wurrgog, whose triple can combine with the double to make a fleshy green castle for a crucial round or two. And because you can fish for better results with your Battle Trait, you've got a better chance to pull it all off.
Beast Spirit Ju-ju has been super good for me, for the reasons you listed. I don't take a Bonesplitterz list without at least one of the Totem Bearer, because it almost always makes a difference as an easy to use ability.
Clanrats from Skaventide leave so much space for kitbashing. It's really easy to convert regular rats to packmasters (I used hobgrot banners and slaneesh whips) or just greenstuff something. In AoS, weapon loadout realy doesn't matter, so it's also good to make some spear skaven from the ones that hold weapons in 2 hands.
Idk what it is about Sylvaneth, but I have so much fun theory crafting lists for them and their new battle trait makes it even more fun. What are you thoughts on Skaeth? Is he generally worth it over a kurnoth with gs? I love the model, but have trouble fitting him into lists
I have trouble fitting him in too. His minions are wonderful but with only two dice it's tough to use him. I liked him better way back in first edition when you could shoot into combat.
I was trying to make a "beast master" list with them. Ally in the blade born Idoneth for the crab/octopus for some other beasts. I couldn't get it work though points wise though
I don't think so. You already have great uses for your dice. Resurrecting the worst fighter in your warband, at the cost of not taking any allies, seems hardly worth it. I'd even say, if the flameseekers would've had this ability innately, it still would've never been used.
Battle traits enabled the dumbest (best) way to build 1-box Rotmire Creed where you drop 1 carrion catcher, build all the little guys with shield and buff up everyone (except leader who gets +1A and the catcher) up to T5. Then in game you gang up on enemies so they can't disengage because of your trait and counter them to death. Not good but very funny
That Nighthaunt list is VERY tempting.
I think it's cool how the faction has completely changed over the last 6 months.

Love these new battle traits ❤
Also.... BONESPLITTERZ
Getting to re-roll initiatives is so unique. I don't know how it didn't set the internet on fire when it came out.

Wow that's an amazing idea, mostly bc my Waypiper is painted and my Karthaen isn't even built lol
Appreciate the stuff for the sweatlords and math nerds
I love a bit of math...

Love this. Always good to hear from people who play a rare faction as their primary team.

That's a great reminder! Yeah you could probably convert your skaventide clanrats into both Packmasters and Krowch't
Great exploration! I'm bummed that none of the battle traits really change the landscape for my favorite warbands, though...
Thanks! bumskies about not getting one of the good ones. I was hoping Scions would get a good one and theirs is terrible.

Does the bringing the Flameseekers flame puppy back with a triple add much value?

It's definitely good. One of VFS' strengths is how well whippy dwarf combines with big scary allies though. So a bit of a tradeoff.

Lol I have an unbuilt Rotmire box I wish was set up for trying this.
Where did they add those traits? Which book?
Briar and Bone. The newish Sylvaneth v OBR box. You can find them on Warcrier here: warcrier.net/docs/rules/optional-rules/battle-traits
