I can't thank you enough...When I have had a tough day and it seems as though my work, pressures, and the "establishment" have beaten me down to a point of despair, a blessed video like yours bring me a joy beyond this world. The musical selection. The slo-mo replay, on your part and the reaction and passion on the jumpers' part remind me of my youth and when I flew. Not as high as these men, but flight just the same...The Jacobs "Slope", the Sjoberg "Mullet", Holm's ridiculous take off spot...
Awesome compilation, i just love the flowing motion over the bar... My favourite jumper is Stefan Holm, he is just so tiny compared to the other athletes and i can relate to that very well :)
@jpydrg Sotomayor is the greatest High Jumper ever until proven otherwise. He tested positive later in his career true but its no way you can look past his amazing jumps. Great video compilation!
Thank you for this very good video : i am french,47 years old, fond of athletism and my perfornances were (when i was younger !) : 100m: 11s10 high jump: 1m85 200m: 22s22 long jump: 6m33 triple jump: 12m60
Thanks much for the two videos : oscar for I. Paklin at 2:41. As this was already mentioned, the greatest missing ones are the 1978 straddle jumps from V. Yatschenko (by far the most beautiful on aesthetic grounds). Not that convinced about the slightly too intrusive music. Last but not least ; J. Sotomayor should not even be mentioned here : his records have about the same value as the ones from Ben Johnson and Florence Griffith-Joyner...
Thanks for your comment. When I get around to making the videos better, I will be sure to include Yashchenko's jumps and others which should be in them. As for Sotomayor, I'm aware he tested positive later in his career but I couldn't possibly omit his amazing jumps.
Hi i was wondering what workouts like squats, box jumps etc, to do to increase my jumping ability And also, where could i possibly practice high jump outside of my high school because my coach doesnt really give us much practice and i feel that i need more. Thanks
@themagicone0ont Of course he hasn't tested positive for EPO, why the hell would a high jumper need to take that!? He tested positive twice, first time for cocaine, second time for the anabolic steroid 'nandrolone' in 2001, after which he retired.

Holm's differential of 59cm (26 inches over his head) is amazing !
As a former high jumper, and most importantly as a track and field fan, THANK YOU so much for putting this together. Absolutely fantastic!!

very cool compilation, would love to see it updated with Barshim, Bondarenko, Ukhov, Drouin, Lyshenko
I think I made half of the views on this growing up as a high jumper.
Take care man!
it would be nice to see a new video especially with the new jumpers on the rise ( Barshim , Bohdarenko etc )
