- I was requested to make a video about Earthworm Jim by @UFO-HARE so hopefully this will suffice! All illustrations were made by myself, so I hope you enjoy.

Do people still care about Earthworm Jim? I know the series has a bit of emotional baggage attached to it these days due to some controversy from its original creators.
I remember Jim being pretty popular at the time here in the UK and it still amazes me how fleeting the success of the series felt!
I must confess I like everything about earthworm Jim asides actually playing it- it was always the fantastic art, music and animation I used to marvel at, the game really did look like a cartoon!
The game itself however becomes ridiculously difficult towards the end and I’m clearly out of practice…Truly the ‘hardest worm game’ I’ve ever played.

Man, it's a shame the Earthworm Jim IP didn't receive more love. It was one of my favorites.
Yeah!
Japanese Saturn version of EWJ 2!!!! You sir have good taste
big game for me to play 1997-9
nothing like playing this in dec 1999 thinking about y2k at 12..
"why didnt you play it in 1994"
bc i didnt know it was a videogame yet... and there was no internet.
i only ever had the demo on some win95 ms/dos disc as a kid
always wanted to play it and finish it but it seems near impossible to find and get running these days without getting some older hardware
The sexual innuendos are unrivaled. Kudos marketing team 😂
wow the US manuel is leaps and bounds compared to the EU one. i put in a lot of time to get good at EWJ. learning about the dave perry cheatcode was a life saver. that said it remains one of my fave childhood videogames. i still have the figures up in the loft, although they've been damaged over time
The eu manual is so boring 😅 i probably should have used cheat codes on this playthrough instead of trying to ‘git gud’ that last level is brutal…
@@VideoGameBear I really struggled with the second sub level and the Peter puppy level..masochistic!
I enjoyed Earth Worm Jim well enough back then, but I do recall that was mostly on basis of the wild stuff going on in the levels. As far as shooting platformers, Probotector and Mega Man X had it beat as far as fun factor went, far snappier controls on those two. It is a shame how the series fell off though. Supposedly there were plans to be a fourth game... on the Amico. So who even knows if that was ever REALLY a game in the first place and not a scam. And Doug Tenaple himself turned out to be the worst kind of Christian, vocally opposed to gay marriage and anti-trans, which feels like it tarnishes the characterd and works he was involved with- nobody's really rushing to do anything that might make him money, after all. Not that I think that's why Jim fell of after 3D. The 3D game just didn't sell well and Interplay was a tirefire at the time who couldn't scrounge up people to work on the game, and after it just became a bunch of licenses that the current owner hires out to whoever can pay him, as he's too cheap to hire a dev team that can make new games... yeah. No path but obscurity for poor Jim, under those circumstances.
Ewj2 problem is it levels. Each level is some stupid gimmick. Reminds me of battle toads and mr Bones. And I hate those game because of that. EWJ 2 would have been significantly better if it gave us a "generic" game play of running and gunning.
