Translated to English, "Jai Guru Deva" can be understood as "Victory to the Great Teacher" or "Hail the Divine Teacher." The addition of "om" is a sacred sound in Hinduism and is often used to signify the essence of the ultimate reality, consciousness, or Atman (self).
IT is a formula after a mediation session in Transcendenral Meditation from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi which was there Guru installed by the usual suspectives to destroy families , traditional, especially christian values.
@@Joe-m6p6b it's obvious you know nothing about what you're talking about. How the hell does meditation destroy any values, family or otherwise? And the Mhareshi was never "installed" by anyone. Pattie Boyd was the one who first heard about him and told George and that's how he was "installed." Like all so-called "Christians," you're just another self-righteous know it all blow hard.
Hi Rob from Australia love the way you teach, I wish you were around when I first started learning the guitar. This song and Albatross take me back to my beginnings oh how I wish I could have played these, the girls would have loved me LOL. I bought your album Junction 39 and it's fantastic thank you for all your hard work. I'm 70 yrs young and you have inspired me to get back into the guitar. I have told all my friends and family about your site and they are loving it too, could you please cover some more John Denver songs. My grand daughter is now learning from you with a little bit of encouragement from me. Thanks again you're fantastic.
Every Beatles music book I've ever seen doesn't have the Bm (second chord) in it. I always added it because it sounded more right to me than holding the D, so I'm glad to see you added it too. Also glad to see the 5/4 measures (which are in music books but most people don't know how to count it). It always bugged me if someone played the song without those measures.
“Jai guru deva” is a Sanskrit phrase that translates to “All glory to Guru Dev”. It is a tribute to the spiritual teacher of the late Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The phrase is also used in the Beatles song “Across the Universe” as part of the mantra chorus.
Rob, have you considered Guitar Man by Elvis ? Jerry Reed wrote it and Elvis insisted on Jerry play on his version. Both picking and strumming on that one. Just a thought.
Great stuff. I’ve been playing many years and find your stuff really refreshing. BTW Purple Om was a very popular acid tab during the rave/Madchester years.
Hi Rob (or Fen) Greetings fm Goa India Great video, as are all d others too. Zaps me how I've been playin it all wrong!Prefer ending original repetative fadeout (though yrs was good too) & Yes d Jai Guru Deva means 'Hail to great Master Teacher' Om being the reverberative sacred sound of hindu texts (tho am Catholic) Keeo up d good work 👌🎸👍🙏
"God only knows" if this is the best song ever written by The Beatles!❤✌ Please a lesson of Bobby Vee´s "Take Good Care Of My Baby" like he did it live 1974 next! Thanks!
I see it’s a 12th St. I didn’t notice the threats were 12 because the camera did not pick it up, but it makes sense why the guitar may be larger body and Fred board
Thanks! This is becoming habit forming as is practicing.
Victory to the great teacher. That's the translation, according to Google, and it's how I feel thinking now I can do this

I change to a 6 string for the lesson. 👍🏻
Quite a large guitar, the body, especially and the fret board seems extra wide
I love the Beatles and your tutorials. I do not care for this song though
A good song however not the best my opinion.
Thanks!
