I love Romeo Must Wed. Shows/movies never show Asian guys as the love interest, so I’m glad they did

And how they touched on how in some Asian families, they have traditionally marriages.
Loved this show. One of my favorite lines from it was Suga Mama telling Oscar "I may not always like you. But I'll always love you." Very similar in my family. Don't like them much sometimes but I'll always love them.

FUN FACT: Before Disney Channel picked up PROUD FAMILY as a series, it was pitched in 1998 as a pilot for Nickelodeon and was planned for a 1999 release. During production in 1999, Nickelodeon decided to pass on the series and didn't plan on releasing it as a TV series. After Nickelodeon passed on it, Disney Channel immediately greenlit the series which premiered in 2001.
That was a close call because I would have had a dislike for nick

Couldn’t help but look back on my teenage years when “The Proud Family” was all about the everyday lives about Penny and the gang. There were so many great episodes, especially a couple of favorites of mine, the one about diversity week and the homage to Dr. Martin Luther King and his famous “I Have A Dream” speech. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

One of my favorite shows. Proud Family was way before their time. But ya'll missed out a very important episode and I can't believe ya'll left it out. The Culture Shock episode where Penny had to go and live with a Muslim family for a week and at the end the family got their house toilet papered and they spray painted on the house Go back to your country. That was a very good episode. It spoke a lot of truths especially with racism. Penny also learned not to be so judgmental of other ppl's families and their culture. She eventually grew to like the family. Also what about Tween Town when all the parents disappeared and the kids realized that life without their parents wasn't everything it was cracked up to be. Another good one was the "Who You Calling A Sissy?" episode where Michael got called a sissy for being extra and flamboyant. The Love They Neighbor episode was good too. Where the Prouds and Boulevardez families move in together and Penny and Lacienga had to learn how to co-exist and Lacienga started falling apart and Penny helped her even though they had their issues. Those should've been in the list for sure or even honorable mention

That's one of my favorite episodes.
Unpopular opinion, but I didn't completely like that episode. I mean i liked the acceptance of other cultures and religions message, but i don't think that an episode with a Muslim forced to wear a cross or follow a Christian tradition would have been that popular...
This was my favorite show growing up. As young black child at the time I grew up with this show and I was able relate to it every way

My favorite episode from the suite life of Zack and Cody is super twins where Zack and Cody are super heroes but it was just zacks dream I also like the episode from the suite life on deck where Cody dressed up as a girl for a play it was funny❤️

Granted, I didn't see the entire series. But this list missed a lot of good ones- I call shenanigans! I thought #1 would be where they switch families and Penny learns about Ramadan and prejudice. That was such a powerful episode of any kid's show at the time. Also- the one where she and her friends become pop stars and she goes solo "Penné- like the pasta." Also, loved the Spelling Bee where Penny was reading Oscar's lips, and the one where Sugar Mama "puts her foot in it"... literally. LMAO

I remember some of these - especially the one at #2. I liked this show, but I always seemed to miss it when it was on.
I’m so happy that someone acknowledged one of Disney’s most underrated and best animated series. I love all the episodes on this list and you examined them well. But I’m sad the wedding or family reunion episode didn’t make it.
But one thing I didn’t like from the party is how penny’s friends immediately ditched here party at the beginning.

The proud family ended the year I was born. But I like to watch it anyways. And it is one of the most influential shows out there. It changed the world in a positive way. Like the episode when Penny played foot ball, I have always liked ruff sports but never played them because, I was always compared to guy for not being a girly girl even my friends. But I learned if my friends make me feel bad about about being my self, there not my friends.

I miss watching The Proud Family on the Disney Channel so much, because it made me 🤣at the comedic scenes of the 2D animated TV series. It's such a shame that it got cancelled. I liked the love scene with Quoc and Penny in the episode, Romeo Must Wed where they played Romeo and Juliet in the school play in Mr. Vericola's Drama class at Willie T. Ribbs Middle School. 💛
