GRWM & unpopular opinion about how to love yourself

We are often told to simply accept ourselves as we are in order to love ourselves. However I see all around me how this approach is having people spiral about their identity & accepting chronic depression & feeling like a victim. I have a different approach, and I can say, I truly love myself. Stick with me & let me know what you think🩷

I think that (or at least this worked for me) is that once you change yourself to love yourself, you have to also accept that others will not love you or like you, and that’s ok. (Just like how you don’t love everyone or like everyone) and once you accept that not EVERYONE will see you perfect or not everyone will like you, it’s also freeing. Since I don’t have to act a certain way or look a certain way because I accept that they’re not going to like me regardless, but it doesn’t matter since I like me.

Absolutely! The changes you make have to be loveable TO YOU, and not by someone else's standards. We can be inspired by other people, but looking for validation is exactly what caused the negative self-image, and we almost sort of combat that with creating self-love:)

Wow thank you, you know at one point I kept having this sleep paralysis in which my mother from another star system, a tall Andromedan white, came to fetch me home. Even though it technically was sleep paralysis I just felt so much love and asker her "mum can we please go home now" and she hugged me and we left, but we never got there because some army guys separated us. It felt soooo real.

​​@@gloriajj I think my accent is just such a mix of everything, because I've lived in four different countries and traveled and always been hanging out with people from all over the world. Now I just speak in a way that sounds nice to me & feels good 😄 But I did live in the UK :)
