What Happened To The Villainous English Dub??

- Around Thanksgiving of 2022 the Villainous English Dub was announced and released on HBO Max Latin America, but it's been over 4 months since it was announced and it still hasn't been released in the US. A lot of Villainous Fans have been asking me "When is it coming out??" "Why isn't it out yet?" "Where is it??" and after 4 months I might have the answers.

@@seekerandrosesNo, the cartoon is originally in Spanish, the dubs that your talking about were dubs for the shorts, not for the full episodes. The official show finally got a dub but it hasn’t been released yet.
Actually, I hope that the Villainous english dub are coming to Adult Swim and on MAX (formerly known as ''HBO Max'' and ''Discovery+'') for the United States 🇺🇸, as part of Warner Bros. Studios' 100th anniversary celebration in this year!!!
Because I saw that was censorship for Alan Ituriel and the English cast and I heard that Lord Black Hat said "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?" and I heard that Airlock said "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?"!!! CORRECT?

I don't have a problem with a random Spanish word being used if it doesn't break the flow of the dub, anime does this a lot with random English words being used in the same kind of context as we saw here
1:23 she calls her that because that’s what Demencia is known to be called around heroes/agents.
This could also be because of her freakishly strong characteristics, maybe this is just another way to call her a demon
Alebrije is basically a chimera of the mexican folklore.
And she's a human with reptile features. So, kinda of a chimera.
1:15 No sir, is ok to call her "alebrije" because Dementia is a colorful lizard that match perfectly with an Alebrije overall design being the "reptiles" the most prominent designs in 1930 when they were created by Pedro Linares after recovering from a fever that almost kill him.
Airlook to me gives more of Russian's Vibes than Mexican's
So it feels weird to me that she mentions a Creature from the Mexican's Folklore instead of a Russian's one
But that's just me
i think its fine for the characters to speak some Spanish in the English dub, i do think the dub has some problems with translation but other than that i think the actors themselves did pretty well
i will miss Flug's original voice, but i also enjoy his new voice
Whether it'll be sooner or later, I'm really excited to finally see Villainous series in English dub getting released again.
I can’t wait for it to become and canon show like adventure time, and or a meta canon show like The Amazing World of Gumball.
At this point learning Spanish to watch the series would be faster than waiting for the English dub 😂
they also have to redo the animation lip syncs to match the english dub, so thats another concerns the series are dealing with.
Tell that to every show ever made to adapt their animation to each dub.

I was excited as anyone when they dropped the pilot episode and was waiting for a dub ever since. Guess I’ll keep waiting or use a VPN eventually. But overall, I’m just happy to know it exists. Thanks for the update! I’m excited again after years of patience.

I am super excited this show's finally easy findings here in US, but i have seen the dub of the penumbra episode so many times, it's a glaring problem how much of 505's voice they took out 😢 The audio also doesnt feel like its as good as their earlier rendition or even comparable to how the spanish dub is. I could care less about the Spanish not getting translated, though i could see how that may be a problem in the show. I hope when they rerelease it, 505 has his dialogue back.
So i compared the dub from the cn channel to the one from max, and lets just say im glad that English is my second language.

Alan ituriel is a good man and I like his voice and I support him.
After its 6 episode release, it just went into radio silence. No anoucements, no updates, nothing.
This english dub (and the sunblast comic no one really knows about) Is currently what we're working with.
This show is heavily underrated and deserves way more attention to get more love and care

I honestly think they should just REDO the entire English dub. They released an episode that had BETTER audio, BETTER VOICE ACTING AND EVERYTHING was written in English, this was released a few years back. I don’t know why they changed the voice actors. Plus there’s TONS of audio problems. Sometimes certain voices and sound effects just sound too low. I literally have to put on subtitles to understand what ppl are saying sometimes. I love this show but it has problems other then leaving some text in Spanish

Is this show still going on? I’m aware it’s not coming to America (maybe, not any time soon), but all I know is that there’s been two seasons, and I’ve not seen any news of a third.
Hbo Max subtitles put the English version like the "original version" and is really hard to say.
In Frankelda is super obvius that the spanish version is the original and the english version is the dub but in villainous I can't tell, some times the english version looks like the original, other times the Spanish version looks like the original, is really a mess. 🤣
i think that's because some of the scenes in Villainous are animated in English, while in other scenes they're animated in Spanish. and im not talking about the shorts, im talking about the 6 episodes we have so far
Villainous is a mexican cartoon so the original version is the one in spanish
Seems like they didn't change the dub at all before release in the US.
Speaking of which, is the pacing supposed to feel so rushed, or is that just the dub? Because it feels like they cut any dead air between dialogue to the point where the pacing feels way too fast. Every time someone talks, someone else immediately responds without so much as a second's delay, and it feels almost like the episodes were over-edited to try and fit into a specific time constraint, removing every second they didn't need if they could.
Which makes it a W series imo. What would be the point of dead air with good dialogue at the ready?
If memory serves, the dub was done in South Florida where they mostly do Spanish dubs. I think most of the dub cast are Latino.

or you xan watch it in spanish with english sub like a lot of spanish speakers had to watch american cartoons for years... also, you can learn some spanish, that was a lot of mexicans did to watch american media, learn english.

It is still in production but there has been no word of episode 7
I’m thinking the mix of Spanish and English in the show is like a Victor and Valentino thing. I come from a texmex background so speaking English and switching to Spanish in the middle of a sentence is completely normal so maybe it’s the same in the Villainous dub?

I just saw it on max. The English dub didn’t flow very well and the Spanish version was better.
EDIT: I just saw the original dub release on CN LA's channel from 4 years ago and its fucking terrible. most of my experience is with the redub which is just better all around, also its still the creator voicing BH but performed much better, which is a plus in my book.
i dont understand why you said the dub was bad, it was really good in my opinion. also markiplier voicing black hot, a joke character, was great. they did fix the voice of frankie,, and it is grey delisle, because episodes 1-6 are available on Max now. the episodes are out of order though. episode 1 was the epsiode with penumbra and sun blast, but for some reason its episode 4 on max. i think they released them in the order of dub completion. with the SAG-AFTRA strike though, i dont expect villainous to be completed until possibly next year though which sucks.
Hello I have one question how did you now that the first season of villainous has 12 episodes? If so where can I get the original episodes in spanish ?
The creator of Villainous Alan Ituriel has stated in the past that the first season is actually 12 episodes and the first six are only the first half, when we’ll get them is uncertain. You can find the original Spanish episodes by going to HBO Max and changing the language to Spanish or using a VPN to go to Mexico servers

Pretty sure there was an English dub for Episode 1.. as I watched it Years ago when it came out.. So there is an Good dub for The first episode, but not for the rest.
I understand spanish but not that well and I don't wanna watch it while translating I. My mind the whole time
I think it would much more simple to just release the show SUBBED in english rather than DUBBED. As far as I know, with subbing all you have to do is write translated subtitles. I honestly wouldn't mind watching it subbed; I can still enjoy the story all the same.
Really, if dubbing this show has all these complications, why not just release it subbed first Cartoon Network? It shouldn't be too much trouble that way.
They already dubbed it into english, its on HBO Max USA now.
