- Any easy off-road trip along a portion of the Santa Ana mountains. North Main Divide Road and Indian Truck Trail are 2 easy trails with great scenic views that any car with a decent amount of ground clearance can make. Both trails are very narrow shelf roads with steep drop offs, something to think about for those with a fear of heights.

I was so amazed when I first found this.
Thanks for taking me back. I have not been up there since the BIG fire.
0:54 is where i would park my truck and unload my motorcycle
Looks like a ton of fun
Awesome in my neighborhood
Please help I used to ride motorcycles on Ortega highway. Is that the way to come in? Because when I put in coordinates in my GPS. It's making me take the trail the opposite way your showing. I'm confused how to start where you're starting
Take Ortega Highway 74 out of Lake Elsinore up to the summit, turn right on El Cariso road which quickly turns into North Main Divide. You'll drive a few miles on pavement before you see the gate for the trail. maps.app.goo.gl/ARCCYkzcp6Xsabm68
awesome
Thanks for the video. This trail is about 45 minutes from me. I'm a novice off roader. Is this trail easy for a first time off roader? Is the vehicle navigation GPS sufficient, or should I buy a seperate GPS device in order to find my way around the trail.
There's no way to get lost on the trail it basically follows the ridge line all the way till you reach the locked gate a few miles from Santiago peak. At that point you either turn around and go out the same way you came in or go down Indian truck trail if that gate is open. The Forest Service website says both of these trails are closed right now. www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/cleveland/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprdb5340229
@@subietrails2750Santiago peak is open!
So is Indian truck trail passable now? It was closed for years because of downed trees from the fire.
so who has the right of way? or is this a one way?
How did you check to see if it was open?

How was your "pinstriping" after this road trip?
No pinstripes at all. The road was good condition too.
Exactly what I was going to ask.
could my 2wd 4 runner do this 😢
Ya I don't think it would have any problems.
