A Trail With No Name Near Palm Springs, California. Difficult Trail
Переглядів 76210 місяців тому
Between the towns of Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs there's an area Known as the Indo Hills. It has some unique geological features for this part of the desert. It reminds me of a miniature Anza Borrego with its many sandy trails and slot canyons. With all the trails running off in every direction here I'm guessing the place used to be huge for all manner of off-road vehicle. There are now...

I am tempted to do one of these easier kinds of trails with my car, a Mitsubishi Mirage. Although it's not an off road ready car with it's tiny tires, and 2 wheel drive, it is also a tiny car, I can fit between most ruts, and easily can turn around on those skinny trails if I want.

There is an actual tall EAGLE PEAK spire (3226') right there in amongst and towering above all those conjoining creeks & waterfalls feeding the upper San Diego River... it is right in the middle of the always-green San Diego River Valley bed up there (below & west of the Cuyamaca Peaks)... I'd like to climb it some day - there is a trail.

Pretty cool design but “do it yourself”? Yes, if you have a tablesaw that cuts metal, a jigsaw that cuts metal and numerous other tools. So I will end up spending $600 on tools to make a bike rack that I should’ve just bought a $49 back bike rack at target? Wow.

Check conditions before you go! I tried it an SUV several years ago and the road was so bad near the west end that I popped a sidewall. I think it says Hear Ye. That is a good place to post if you are looking for a place to rent up there. There are some super cool people up there and it is truly an amazing place with weather that is entirely different than down near the coast.
