This video charts our first few days at the chateau as we try to solve the immediate problems facing us on arrival at our new home.
Just as we escape to the chateau we begin to think we may need to escape from the chateau. DIY ensues.

Be careful parking the caravan on dry foliage! The catalytic converter gets quite hot and enough to ignite dry foliage underneath!

I just went through all of your previous videos and really enjoy your humour and presentation. Well done! Thank goodness it wasn't a hoard of stuff. (bad enough though) I can see that you will be pitching a lot or making a lot of trips to charity shops. Your chateau and barns look truly beautiful. Can’t wait to see more, interiors etc. The kitchen looks lovely. Judging by palm trees you’re in the south? Stony ground, good for vines? Yay for the running water and new pipes❤
May I suggest next time you trench for water lines, or any lines , you lay down a bed of gravel and sand under the piping. Winter freeze will move that pipe and cause new ruptures over time .
You could be right but our compromise was to encase the pipe in a tough conduit pipe to allow room to move without getting pinched. Hopefully it will last.

When the waterboard come to check for leaks they use a metal tube which has a pointed tip on it and they put it on the ground and listen to the sound of water gurgeling

Cut the grass short.....then you will see where it gross fast and green. There is your leak. We have big property in Australia. Im so looking forward to this new chanel.
Are you going to show more of the "before" you moved in? See the state of the chateau before you moved in would be great. It is also interesting to see some of the other places you looked at, along with the explanations of why or why not you did not choose them. We are all living vicariously through you.

Just keep thinking, "Wine & cheese...wine & cheese...wine & cheese..." That should get you through the worst of it. Good that you know your way around plumbing fittings & home repair, as I foresee some need for that on this venture!
