He doesn't kill Doyle with a sling blade, he uses a lawnmower blade. Remember, the sling blade is shaped like a bananner and this is straight.

In every interaction he had with all the major characters right before he killed Doyle, it ended with him walking away and the characters calling after him, "Carl?"
I thought that was an interesting touch.

Audrey Hilton Definitely. I noticed that too.

All of Doyle's abusive behavior notwithstanding, it would still have counted as a murder charge against Karl?

    • @OtterUnderwater
      @OtterUnderwater 4 роки тому +3

@@jpx8793 yes, it would have to. It wasn't in self defense and the justice system can't reward vigilantism.

@@OtterUnderwater Yes, I agree, it wasn't self defense because Doyle himself was not behaving as an immediate physical threat right then. He was just sitting there, drinking and being drunk. If he'd been an immediate threat, that'd have been one thing. But he wasn't.

He should've gotten Best Actor. Don't remember who he was competing with. Completely different character from the man who played him. That's talent with art.

One of my top 5 favorite movies of all time for sure. I saw this in theaters when it first came out and the performances blew me away. Every single actor in this movie gave their all, especially Robert Duvall, who was just creepy AF. No wonder his son turned out the way he did!!! Astonishing! This and
“A Simple Plan” are two of my favorites.
Billy Bob Thornton is a national treasure. It’s just a shame he’s not working as much as anymore, or even creating work that’s as high quality as this.
    I mean, Amargeddon?!?? 🤣🤣🤣
But we still have “Sling Blade,” “Monster’s Ball” and my favorite Billy Bob performance, “U-Turn.”

I miss John Ritter. We don't know who we really have, until they have departed this planet.

He didn’t kill the father with a sling blade. He killed him with a lawnmower blade.
He only killed Jesse & his mother with a sling blade

Tailored. Creations , Karl did not kill his father, he did not even assault him. Karl killed Doyle (no one's father) with a lawnmower blade.

@@Tailored_Creations , in Doyle's case, "malevolent scumbag" would be more appropriate than "father figure", I think you will agree.

So ive got to believe that because this guy has not been charged in a court of law, that his story doesn't add up. The fact that this crime is against a child and it is sexual in nature, i have to believe that the investigators in charge would follow up on every lead, and theory, and if his story would have been able to been proven true as a matter of fact, he would have been charged and convicted long ago.
It makes absolutely zero sense for the police to Know the killer, and have proof that his claims are true they would have done it already.
Because they haven't, that must mean that he did not commit the crime
