WORST ever Attempt At Crossing This Bar! Wonder what was going on in this boaties head?
ua-cam.com/video/s8IztzExKHQ/v-deo.html
You obviously are not a ocean boating person and don't know what you're talking about.
They were talking about the linked video.
fucking bollox...this guy knows exactly what he's doing....twat
He was timing the swell, counting the sets, waiting for the right moment. He was very good.,the results speak for themselves
They were thinking Horsepower was all they needed. 🤷♂️🙄 They got SUPER lucky that the first one spun them around. If it had left them still facing out there’s no way they had time for an about face before that next set wave took em out.
I believe patience and experience won the day. Nice work gentlemen. 👋
It's cool to watch serious people focused on a difficult and dangerous job, working together without panicking and trusting each other. You can tell from their body language they're really focused on what's happening.
They did just fine. Most could not have done it any better. These men have done this many times before. Great job!
One question. WHY?
ONE QUESTION…. WHY? 2:05
After watching haulover videos, this is a welcome treat. These guys know what they're doing.
This is actually how you cross a bar! You wait and read the waves. Then you go when it's calmed down.
Right, and back up to them if you have to get out of dodge
Huh,the expert hey )0:
Yep .. I do bar crossings twice a day. I operate a charter fishing boat.
@@freddienz68 Grow up mate
@@cosmosradio aaaaaaaaaaaa
Skills my friends. 80 ft vessel with an unskilled sailor could end up in a submerged vessel in these conditions. Knowledge the seas will keep you alive no matter what size boat you are navigating. Huge respect for that sailor!
wróng
No hes right
@@sharonbraselton4302
Correct everything includes skill n experience ✨
Timing is EVERYTHING !!
and patience 😂
Nicely done I don't care what anyone says that takes skill reading those waves like that. Most of these people with negative comments prolly never seen this kinda situation first hand let alone been in it
Not his first rodeo obviously, good job.
It's his second rodeo?😮😂😂
Well done just proves it's not speed an power to cross a bar but read the waves an being in the right place
You'll spend longer sitting at traffic lights on an average car journey and how much skill does that take? These guys did a great job!
Just in case anyone is interested, that is a Arancia inshore lifeboat or IRB. They are incredibly capable soft hulled boats that are specifically designed for surf.
To crew one of these you need to be a qualified beach lifeguard, and hold crew and coxswain quals and renew them bi annually.
The fact that they are even sat in that boat meant that they knew exactly what they were doing.
There are times that being on are bar is terrifying. The driver did the right thing.
Very nicely done, showed a lot of patience. Now to come back in
Wait for a break in the sets and go through a little white water, works like a charm. Ride back in on the back side of a wave. Whats really scary in a boat that size is cross seas.
Patience is the key and of course skill
Quite possibly the first BP Rescue IRB that has actually showed a good piece of boat handling. Best way to cross a bar observe, analyse, observe again looking for repetition in the wave patterns then act accordingly.
Patience?
@@samt5663
Absolutely.
Good sensible boat handling skills. Makes a nice change from the "just power through it and hope" shown in so many videos.
Nicely done. I'm on the Bristol channel and the sea tells you what you can and can't do.
takes me back to my surf lifesaving days training these fullas definitely know what theyre doing!
Great stuff, done a bit of it myself. Safety and success before heroism. Well done.
Knowing your vessel and patience is key.
Thats what i call profesional bote driving.i hope to lesrn to maneuver my bote like that in the ocean that was awesome watching.thanks for the video😊
I'm getting Monty Python voiceovers lol...
Run away, run awaay!
Oh Brave Sir Robin he boarded the boat and headed he out to sea,
The waves were mighty,
the seas roar was frightening so he bravely decided to flee!
😂🤘
Those lil ribs are made for this shit, he did a good job either way.
Dude knows what he’s doing.
Not sure? These are SURF LIFEGUARDS. We are trained to rescue drowning people in the surf in these little red boats. They just didn’t want a sore arse. If they wanted they could have gotten past those waved in no time. Look up IRB SLS Races!
perfect crossing i wouldnt do it like river fishing but they know what to look out for. love the dingy easy to turn around very manouvable
Nice work boys, it was pumping out there! I beach launch my inflatable in sizable surf everyday and I know that feeling. No matter how many times you do it, you always have some butterflies. There’s consequences to any mistakes out there. Especially when you’re loaded down with expensive fishing gear, haha. Tight work!
Looks like a massive win to me!
Great...👍👍👍👍I got this type experience at Sri Lanka East coast .. Ruwan from Sri Lanka.
Monday to Friday the lake is calm looks like a mirror ! The weekend is windy with white caps ..It never fails
I grew up with that same size boat.
Zodiac with a 35 on the back.
Skied endless summer days off it so much fun.
Helps we were skinny
whaker 13
Eyes pinned the whole time watching this ! Perfect score here on my radar ☺️ sick !
Hi. Always mind the rock piers or peers. Very brave of you. My very best regards.
great patience and wave reading skills.
Wauuu... amazing 🤩🤩🤩
Patience is key 😊
No suprises us kiwis ain't scared of no bar hahaha
Was that a surfer out there when they finally got through?
Great job IMHO
Like a fucking Boss!
The thumbs downs are people who were hoping for death. lol
Patient is the answer they've got iy right .
I learned by doing the hard yard's 16 year's old n bullet proof and very wet a few times tought me well.😅
Please everybody let's spread the word. Outboards are built to be driven by sitting on the starboard side and holding the tiller with the left hand. That's why the tiller comes out to the left and the throttle twists like a motorcycle throttle. if you sit on the port side, the tiller sticks into your butt and legs and the throttle twist is backwards. Your arm it twisted behind you instead of straight out to the side like it should be. This is just basic outboard 101. I know it's a free country but please do yourself a favour and try driving from the starboard side. You'll love it once you get the hang of the proper position. I promise. You'll have much better control and it's way more comfortable.
I came here to see if anyone would notice. This guy, with all his skill, is asking to end up in a boating accident.
yeah that's nonsense. I handle these boats in surf conditions every summer and have zero issues with sitting on the left hand side of the boat. It's what we're trained to do and it works just fine.
And the return is dangerous too i think
nope
the return is easier than going out. But you still have to pay attention, or you can ruin your day.
Naw man, hold my... AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHGURGLEGURGLEGURGLE!!!!!
Nice video, thanks
Going out is one thing. Coming back in an other.
Grandissimi....💪💪💪😉
They certainly are keen to go out in that little boat. Were they coastguard?
trained surf life guards. They rescue people in the surf.
The best drivers are always the smaller boat the bigger boat captains just think they can do anything
the key word always face a wave at 45 degree never at 90 degree.
Steering from the wrong side 😂
and it went very well. They crossed the river bar, which was their mission.
Surfs up. Whoa dude!
"Patience is a virtue".
Ah, i see!!! That's how they're all getting across the English Channel now then.
Where's the river bar at. What drinks do they serve
Is that a 2hp outboard?
Is there another of home getting back in again, or is he still waiting beyond the break?
you pick a wave and ride in on the back of it. Easy as, mate
I think they knew what they were doing...fine crossing, I’d say!
Patience. Bloke never took a chance. Probably a seaman since childhood.
At the midpoint I thought that the answer might be, “it doesn’t!”
When in doubt throttle out ✊
good job 👍
Alucinante intentar salir con semejante embarcación y con ese motor, no me extraña que haya gente qué se lleve buenos sustos.
Just trying to use the engine power to muscle your way in or out never works. You have to read the waves. When crossing back in you should try to come in behind a wave allowing it to break and subside before it reforms smaller
That was laim!!!! I wanna see full send!!!!
They did a good job. Don't want to be caught on a wave break, for sure.
First and foremost those 2 Are Surfers !!
Good read on those sets
Ive done rescues at Muriwai in around 15ft those boats are perfect for big surf. You ca still pop around 6ft broken white water if driver and crew know how.
Maroc
15 foit biat easy 6 fiit naxium safty limy
Waves workmates , real sailors .
waiting the wave broken, then go
yes tyat what chef dise
RESPECT the dingy
I fish out of Cook Inlet Alaska, with My 12ft inflatable, sometimes the rollers slapping the beach are higher than Your head and You definitely have to watch the undertow . Coming in has to be met with precision.
Only the fish were laughing always respect the dangers of breakers !
Amazing
mad lads respect
Podemos atravessar qualquer rebentação, é só esperar a série de ondas maiores passar. O mar sempre dá oportunidade.
When you know your stuff and it is really a cold blood.
Must be a surfer. Timing the sets and getting in the peak at a lull is key
That is not a small boat... In portugal... NUTSHELL... Great guys you hava down there... Seamans are seamans
I've got a 12 ft. Inflatable I run on the ocean in Alaska, these Guys have bigger cohoinas than Me.
Holy fuck, that was awesome. Balls of steel.
Patience.
I say it’s stupid to try to cross a bar.
You should enter, sit down, order a pint and enjoy the atmosphere in every bar you encounter. Common courtesy.
Very skillfull
É isso. Aguarda o melhor momento, sem pressa, na certeza.
Never turn around on a bar
Hi. Do always wear thick neoprenes suit wet or dry depending on season and big buoyacy life jackets. Worth investing. Thanks for moovie!
What!! This is NOT Crossing! this is amatørs!
they crossed the river bar. Which was their mission.
Crazy though 😂
Is that a surfer out to the left?
No it's Whale 👀😂😂
There were alot of surfers out during that week cyclone caused the swells to be so big
Can't see life jackets
that's fine. In the cold water they wear wet suits to keep them warm, and for flotation.
patience. patience. patience.
Ya ok woth waves they bog no amd they turned back fast fsct intflatble are a beast boy you gotta have over a 20 h p motor to go three that fact been there done that on mine
Welldone.
Wrong hand on the tiller of outboard
just as fine on either side
did it work.... yes, they crossed the river bar.
These crossings can be done with any boat the boat means nothing is all about the timing
and the water depth under the keel
He also made it in a little bitty boat lol, you try and rush it and see what happens =P
