Oh, the wonderful Sian Thomas! I found that so moving. Thank you. This is marvellous serendipity because I'm listening to her reading 'The Minotaur' and LOVING every syllable - she gives the narrator a subtle Swedish accent, then a terrible, snotty English accent for the dreadful mother, who has a mirthless cough/laugh; one of the awful daughters has such an irritating, joyless giggle - it's al beautifully done. Thank you, thank you.
An extraordinarily candid and detailed account of working with Mike. The pictorial descriptions (Lakes etc) are so valuable as here we have a (wonderful) actor speaking like an actor in a way which probably only actors would understand. The real crux comes at 47 mins where Sian describes (with total respect) the difference between Mike's process and Actioning with Max Stafford-Clark. Once again I'm grateful to the generoisity of actors for giving up their time to pass these things on to the next generation. This episode is unmissable!
For clarification - "The Maids" was directed by Clare Davidson in 1981 at the Lyric Hammersmith and (as far as I can tell, records only go back to 2003) was not a Shared Experience production.
So absorbing & inspiring

Hi Graham - hope this finds you well. Apparently it was a Shared Experience production - I got that from the horse's mouth, and from Mike...
@@peterthomson8878 Really? How interesting. So unlike the other plays Shared Experience presented. I feel an episode on this coming up :-)
