I love MotorWeek and have been watching every episode since 1984 when my father started watching it, but unfortunately MotorWeek tends to have slower times than the magazines. Not always, but a lot of the time they do have slower times. Like this test... Motor Trend got this same SS 1LE to 60 in 4.2 and then they ran a noticeably quicker 12.7 @ 111.8 mph 1/4 mile. They also got this car from 60 to 0 in only 101 feet as well. I know conditions vary and whatnot, but I wish you got a better time out of this car. You basically ran the same time the regular SS ran which doesn't have the 3.91 gears and 285mm sticky tires.
I wonder why the output stayed the same on all the 2013 models with the dual mode exhaust option? On the LS3 Corvette is gained +6 HP / +4 LBFT. On the C7 Stingray it gained +5 HP/ +5 LBFT. Why wouldn't it raise the output of an LS3 Camaro SS?
I think it did gained more HP but GM didnt say anything about it, but if you go to fastest laps . C O M the camaro is adverstised with 432HP when it lapped VIR.
I'm getting one of those mark my words I'm not big on those new cars but that Camaro 1le ss gotta have it 2013 I hate how the 2015 n up looked it had horrible lights at the back and a ugly front end looks like a 2dr Malibu it impala
Handling is where it's at. All of that just being fast in a straight line BS is over. If it can't go fast in both a straight line and corners it's pointless.
Well, now we know this wasn't Chevy's answer to the Boss 302, and actually just their answer to the Mustang GT with the track package. The Z28 is going to be a beast!
This non-supercharged Camaro 1le can beat the Mustang Boss as well as the GT500. The Zl1 580hp engine is just a supercharge SS 426hp engine with a few mods. The same Ls3.
"The fact the GT500 can barely beat a $37k car with 200 less horsepower speaks volumes. There are about a million mods you can do to a LS3 to make a Camaro do the 1/4 faster then a GT500." (Vroom.) @@Hostile_SS Same old story over at ford... release an inferior product for track work and then add the band aids (read special editions/packages) only to come up short again and again. What is sad is the msutnag fans eat these special editions up. And when they fall short on track they begin to talk about sales numbers. Classic!
In my observation . . The SS1LE is a Boss 302 competitor. The standard Mustang GT has had a Track Pack offered since the 2010 model year model yet Chevrolet only made the 1LE available after the Boss / Laguna Seca model run was complete. The price difference is not comparable due to many unique changes and pieces for the Boss and the 1LE being a parts bin creation. On another note i wonder how a Mustang GT would perform with 3.90:1 axle ratio and wider wheels like those on the 1LE.
Ahh camaro vs mustang is awesome! But camaro kicks ford ass at the track and mustang kicks camaro ass in the streets and sales. Sucks that the better performer sells less.
lots of weight however 1LE vs Z28 bec of reduced carbon fiber & some creature comforts mankind requires. The 28 was built for race track specific use. I would not dare use it for everyday driving bec the ride is almost as stiff as GTI Impreza & Nismo GTR. If you want a stiff ride to the max than why not however in controlled quantity Z28 for track specific & 1LE Zeta for both. Vette < Camaro 1LE

This Camaro 1LE is nice car with best performance
I did give the video a like rating of course because I am a fan of this show for life overall.
I like the colour and the black hood
This humiliates the GT with the track pack, and even beats the Boss 302 LS on some tracks for 6k less. great job GM.
Need to find me one of these...SWEEEEEET!!!!

They need to make this package available without blacking out the hood, spoiler and wheels. Other than that it looks pretty good.
I think this car is the one!

This Car is Hard and Affordable

Please show lap times where the Boss has EVER been faster than the heavier, lesser powered 1LE.
nice helmet Ben!

personally i think it could use another V8 in the boot. one per rear wheel.
Boss is a girls car Camaro is a man’s car
GM is just following the leader, which is the Mustang. Like the Shelby GT500 and Boss 302, chevy followed ford by creating the ZL1 and Z28.
Kyle Justin chevy beats both at the track though, fast forward 5 years later and a 1le right now would beat even a gt350.
hey comments this bumbble bee

Vette < Camaro 1LE
says the uninformed guy
Be cool if it could be had on a v6
It does now
boss 302 remains the real boss...
Design is already looking outdated
4.5 12.9 thats terrible
It's a shame the interior looks and feels so low-rent and the outside is so overdone. That said I'm sure It's a blast to drive.
first
Interior is horrible!
Too bad U lie so bad in all the Mustang movies because BOSS = WIN!
To beat Boss they had to cheat and use a ZL1 with a supercharger.
