As you were working through this, it appeared to be a mass-produced product that didn't go through much, if any, quality control testing. It's too bad, b/c it was an interesting idea, and if they'd made the box to the same standard as the Batarang, it probably would've been a lot of fun to solve.
A note on the final moves - I got this puzzle box as well and the final solve was first punch in the numbers, then the keycards would push in and that would pop open the drawer. Unfortunately the tolerances on the keycard bit was a pain in the butt, so easy enough to miss the ordering and such.
It was pretty well spelled out in the clues, too (? symbol under the code) but he was so focused on this as a mechanical puzzle he forgot that this is about RIDDLES as much as the box itself. Also probably why he just went "Penguin?" and then forgot about the riddle-clue for the code, while that was supposed to prime him to think about ROBIN + Catwoman, because the symbols were Robin, Catwoman, Nightwing (aka Dick Grayson, a former Robin), and Red Hood (aka Jason Todd, another former Robin).
@@ChrisRamsay52 I think that the reason the box didn't spring out is that you 'forgot to call your oldest friend' as stated in the hint given by Riddler.
As a side note Chris is stupid and you're supposed to leave the card inserted while you type the code in and then the box will pop out proper, but yeah def high budget for value either way.
@StealthyDead Amazon sells it for a little over $60...that's the only reason I got it...but really? If it wasn't for the amazing Batarang, I wouldn't even bother lol As Chris said, it's definitely not meant for puzzle enthusiasts...and where they rate it at a 9 difficulty, I'd put it at MAX a 5...but probably closer to a 3 or 4.
Trust me bro I totally agree one of his most expensive puzzles cost $40,000 Apperently and I was like nahh they seen you coming to spend that money on some plastic and flashing lights n sounds n paper clues like wtf who would for real spend that on a puzzle
Pretty simple puzzle, but perfect for a Batman/Riddler fan. Good on you for correcting your initial review. Without integrity, a person cannot call themselves honorable by any definition of the word. Great video and fun content, even if it was pretty quick.
200 bucks for a plastic puzzle that is cheaply made with a faulty mechanism for the big final reveal at the end? No thanks. This should be like 50 bucks tops.
I messed around with card tricks a long time ago so I know a few moves. I like re-winded the time-travel trick like a thousand times and finally got how the trick was done. Neat trick Chris. So simple yet so effective.
I got the regular version and sure, it looks cool, but it wasn’t reset from factory. Seems to be the same for lots of people. The number buttons was already pushed in so i had no idea if i pushed the correct ones. Still a cool looking piece on the shelf! Love your videos Chris, keep it up man! 🥰
Enjoyed watching you solve this simple puzzle. I have found that you are the main reason I like watching you solve puzzles and the puzzle is just the icing on the cake so to speak. Thanks Chris, you as always are awesome!"♥️♥️👍💯✌🇨🇦
Watched that and thought, eh, probably around 50 bucks, thats not so bad. Clicked the link and $152!!!!!! WTF!!! Absolutely not worth that for a plastic box with like 4 puzzles!
Good puzzle. Loved the Batarang. It was a bit too easy, finished in less than 17 minutes. Mine did not come with a blacklight either. Thanks for always being aweome! Love your content!
Batman is probably one of the weirdest successful superheroes to ever exist. He's a rich orphan who's an expert in martial arts that dresses up as a bat and goes up and beats up bad guys, and he's not the only weird-ass hero in the DC roster lmao
Thanks Chris! Always enjoy a good video from you. My thoughts on the puzzle alone? A bummer of a puzzle for a level 8 even though it's meant for everyone.
Unfortunate. Missing the blacklight was not good. Definitely not an 8 though. Sorry it wasn't quite what you expected but it was still fun to watch and the Batarang is cool!
Hey I just wanted to say I am a big fan of your stuff and have been for a while. I just wanted to say thank you. Also are you feeling better and did you get reinspired.
I love the Riddler! He’s my favorite DC villain! *As I get flashbacks from playing the Arkham Games*…especially Arkham Knight. 😵💫 If you know, you know. Anyhoo, you’re awesome Chris! Big fan of your channel! Keep it up!
Dear Chris, love your videos showed you to many friends and family always loved puzzles myself not even close to your level but I appreciate everything!
Great video, but the puzzle was a bit... dissapointing, wasn't it? The whole thing seems a bit sad and artificlal, and there were tons of plastic wrapped stuff but almost nothing to use it for., almost no clues to be found.. and it seems like the puzzle lacks feedback (lights turning on, things clicking, something!) , so you have no confirmation of when you have done something right. Even with the card in the right place, the final reveal felt pretty underwhelming. Also, the batarang was not even used in the puzzle, just a random collector's item they put in!
Hey Chris, have you ever done a video where you explain what the levels mean? Obviously 10 is hard and 7 is not so hard, but what to do those objectively relate to?
Ok so I want to set some things straight about this product, firstly it was said that this wouldn’t have a black light included although they didn’t make that obvious. Also with the little card puzzle you Linda just had to jam it in until it went in, which I gotta say isn’t the best type of quality but it works fine for me. Along with the final drawer popping out when the cards are inserted and the numbers are put into the keypad
This is definiently the second best puzzle he has ever done. The number one puzzle is the sequential puzzle that he solved that had the thumb inside of it.
Just so you know bro, we appreciate your passion for videos solving puzzles and I watch every one you pt out. Don't think for a second that taking time for yourself could be an issue cause I can wait. You're videos are just tat good, 👌👍
The puzzle seeming to be unbelievably difficult but being easier than it looks and often containing the answer to its own mystery blatantly is absolutely thematically apropos to the idea it was designed and made by the Riddler. Edward Nygma is a very intelligent man, but he is NOWHERE NEAR as intelligent as his egotism has convinced him he is, and his condescension towards the intelligence of everyone around him often compels him to 'dumb down' his riddles and puzzles to 'give those fools a sporting chance' while still fully expecting them to fail at solving his 'brilliant game.' This tendency has been EXACTLY his achilles heel throughout his entire history as a villain. If he actually seriously considered for a moment that Batman may be as smart as him (thinking Batman or anyone else may be SMARTER than him is something he is totally incapable of) he would start facing Batman and everyone else with riddles HE would have difficulty solving, which genuinely WOULD be extremely difficult to solve. The fact that it is rated 8 when it really is probably about a 4 or 5 is all IC. The Riddler probably _rated it himself in-universe_ and is again displaying both his tendency to undercut and overrate his own puzzles and intelligence. As a Batman fan collection piece it is absolutely well thoight out and planned, and its creators should get props not only for coming up with a decent puzzle but _managing to keep in true character as The Riddler throughout the entire design process._
By the way , when I looked at this I'm pretty sure that the box would have popped open had you left in the Bruce Wayne and matching I'd card that had a ? Mark on it then dialed the code or even the other way bc the clue had the dial cat and penguin thing and then the ?with the box around it for the I'd . Kinda like a regular security high access clearance vault .... Let me know if I was right pls
Chris Ramsay this is definitely my favorite outside of the v3s deck of first playing cards you've ever made I love the black bicycles my favorite Ryback color is black and silver so this is awesome that you made these thank you so much
I didn't get a black light either...not sure why they wouldn't send it with the box 😕And...I opened the "jammed" drawer before getting any of the other puzzles done -_- Unfortunately, they make it easy to tell which buttons need to be pressed, and it doesn't take much wiggling to get it open. Of course, if you want the whole batarang put together, solving the rest is required LOL xD
Hello Chris big fan of videos always bring a smile and joy watching U videos I have found that esc welt has a new puzzle called Quest tower trying to solve it at the moment very fun lots of part hoping U can look into making a video of it keep up the amazing videos and magic tricks U fan Jordy 😊
You messed up the keypad, which is probably why it didn't open. The clue said to forget the bat, calls the birds and the cat, and it also says they need to be in a specific order. 7:28
That trick at the beginning, I know exactly what you did, but I can't figure out HOW you did it. I'm going to have to play around and see if I can piece it together.
Just bought 2 black rider backs first edition and a pack of gilded holos. I’d really like to get another pack of hollows, but I couldn’t swing it. I hope I can get another before they are gone.
I don't know what kind of third party vendor he went through. But both the regular and black light versions are sold on Amazon. The black light being an exclusive. And they both retail for $100 USD. And I've seen them go on temporary sales as low as $40 USD
Riddler gotta be the easiest villain to find. Just look for the guy buying a metric fuckton of blacklight glow paint.
Problem is you may run into joker who does that a lot as well
@@rav3style turn blacklist glow paint into a controlled substance, I just fixed your crime problem Gotham *cracks knuckles*
Silly boy....He gets his paint from The Joker!
Gotham's Razor: If there are two suspects, it's usually the guy that buys the biggest metric fuckton of blacklight glow paint.
or just look for a guy in the bookstore looking at riddle books

What would pushing the numbers have done if done in the correct order?
Damn so I wasn't the only one to catch that and I don't even have the puzzle at home lol
He pointed this out at the end
@@NameUnimportantit’s the 2nd or 1st spring lock

Not a tough one but still entertaining. Thanks for your honest review and for the mea culpa at the end. You’re absolutely the best!
Glad you enjoyed it
@@ChrisRamsay52 I think that the reason the box didn't spring out is that you 'forgot to call your oldest friend' as stated in the hint given by Riddler.
@@pavelogorek6575as he pointed out at the end he forgot to put the keys in when dialling the number. It opened just fine after that.
For like $200 I'd expect much more. This thing looks like it would be on a Walmart shelf for $30-40
McFarlane Toys actually made a riddler puzzle box
As a side note Chris is stupid and you're supposed to leave the card inserted while you type the code in and then the box will pop out proper, but yeah def high budget for value either way.

Very 3D-printer-with-model-paint vibes. And for a CRUCIAL piece to be missing, especially one that nobody’s going to have on-hand?

Love that time machine trick, love this puzzle!
Love the tour you taught us like 6 or 7 years ago ! The clock card movement is mesmerizing :)
I love the card trick. One of the coolest ones I’ve seen in a bit!!!
They were right. It was a level 8. Out of 100. Really, they walk you through everything!

The best thing about these is that you are decent enough to accept the fact that you may have made a mistake.
Humble and honest 👏

I love having your videos on well i am at work. Took a few days off and the paperwork backed up while i was gone.
I think if you had placed the key card in the slot then punched in the numbers it might have popped open. But this was a sweet puzzle.
Love the alphanumeric keypad on the puzzle box!
You needed to put the keycards in the slot when you put in the 4digit code for the shelf to pop out...

Actually, the bird is Robin, since Dick Grayson became the first Robin after his parents were killed
I think all the money went into the batarang

Crazy for them to call this an 8 lol. Cute puzzle, but they made it way to easy
I Love how clueless I am to how the magic at start work. 🤔
For the last tray to pop out u leave the cards that u put together in the slit in the others side then put the code in

So for the last box I'm thinking to have the spring open you had to put the access cards into the slot when you dialed the number.
Def not as hard as I thought it would be. More of a toy than a puzzle tbh
3, 6,9,4 then insert the joined cards that make the "?"
The #'s unlock the box, the card activates the spring, to open the door?
Excited to see you at it goodnsir.
This looks like something you would order from Amazon.
Chris, thank you for the new video. I hope that you are taking care of your mental/physical health first and foremost. Happy Thanksgiving.
I would love it for being a batman fan but dunno about the price on how easy it looked

Palming that 3 of hearts was superb 🩵
He mentioned birds (plural) and a cat and I thought of the birds of prey (Harley Quinn, Ivy and Oracle) and cat obviously being Catwoman.
And people keep forgetting the original bird, *Robin*....
160$ for that is a bit too much. Just it isnt worth it. But the video was good.
I have this in my Amazon Wishlist 😅, it's more cutesy than I thought
i like how he called a boomerang and not a batarang at first
