I have a matched pair of 1995 YFM 350 MOTO4’s ,still run and ride like new and we bought them in Dec. of 1994 brand new . They have been beat on and done their time and still going .
@Frog Snacks I keep hearing alot of people have had the 250 version of the moto 4. I’ve never drove one of those, but I’m sure there similar. These old Yamaha’s are hard to kill!
@@rockspowersports It's very similar, I'm pretty sure the 250's engine is only actually a 230, it might be on a slightly larger frame and the plastics are more like other newer utility atvs, the 200 is kind of banshee looking and the 250 looks more like a big bear or a wolverine style. she's a runner though, fully stock it tops out at 80kmh, so 50mph. it's mostly tire so it floats me through just about anything. Starts up good on even the coldest winter day. I just got a set of chains for this winter but I've always used it fine without them.
I got an 83 about 4 years ago. I swear I beat the thing into the ground everyday for the first couple years and I still can’t believe it but I can still go outside to this day and the thing still starts within 2 pulls no matter how warm or cold it is outside.
These old machines aren't powerful, but they are tanks. Its insane the build quality on these even after years they hold up perfectly fine. Love your vids Rock. Keep that content coming!!!
Just for your info, when you were adjusting the brakes they are actually an old form of disk brake. I had a moto 4 225 from 86 that was very similar until the motor dropped a valve. The cables twist a cam that moves in towards the disk, very effective for a mechanical rear brake compared to a drum Great job on the video and I hope this machine lasts for you
@@rockspowersports Sure thing, of course, I could be wrong as I did have an 86 moto 4 225, so a different model, but they looked very similar and were oddly effective
@Pancake man1277. I can’t complain about the amount I have into this thing that’s for sure. I’m pretty sure I’m still under $300 and some of my labor of course.. There pretty fun little wheelers.
@@rockspowersports I’m currently restoring mine. I bought 2 for $1200 each. They both still run and I’m gonna paint them orange and black for visibility
@@bakedbeanpopsicle That’s awesome! Most people let these things sit and rot because they don’t think they’re worth the trouble, I’m glad your not one of those people. It should look pretty sweet with those colors!
Absolutely. I just rescued a 98 foreman 400fw. Machine with winch & plow for almost nothing. With new tires, plug, coil & fresh gas it's about $500. Runs like a champ
I want one of those pullstarts! I do have a battery but damn if you can keep it charged all the time especially in the cold. I would like that as an option, the moto 4 is a runner.
I don’t usually bring anything with me. There is black bears around here but they tend to leave you alone. Unless you mess with there cubs, then you better run.
@Anthony Brown I wished I could tell you how much but there’s so many different outcomes and I really have no idea how many hours it will take them to find the issue. Usually they’ll hook it up to the B.U.D.S diagnostic system to see if they can pin point the issue, I have this same tool and usually charge a flat 1 hour fee to hook it up. I’m not sure where your from but I have a small shop here in Northeast Vermont and I’m almost half price of what the dealership charge per hour.
If you haven’t seen the video of how this machine started check out this video below.

Im telling you, these old machines. They will never fail to impress you. Great video as always!
Not bad for a 36 year old wheeler.
something about this channel keeps me coming back
I’m glad your enjoying the videos!
This is a virtual experience at its best. Love this video!
I have a 1990 yfm250 and I love it, it kind of floats and never leaves me stranded, and it's seen some stuff.

@Frog Snacks Yeah it’s probably the same motor as the Timberwolf 250. Yes looking at them they do look a little more utility looking like you said.

@Dizastapeace It’s amazing what kind of beating these things will take and still start up like a new one 37 years later..

Very tough machines! And honestly bearings and most mechanical things are tight on this old wheeler. I’m glad your enjoying them, I appreciate it!
2 wheel drive quads are great with the right tires. The old 250 big red trikes were impressive as well.
@BRIAN Gabriel I was pretty impressed, I haven’t owned a 2 wheel drive wheeler in quite a while.
They absolutely are. Especially the lightweight ones.

@Cinderator EDU Thanks for the heads up! I haven’t torn them down yet but I just figured they were drum brakes under there.

Nice little quad for the price
Actually, I'm kind of shocked. That thing is pretty cool.
Well worth the price ☺️ 👍👍
You’d be surprised what you can do with those little wheelers and they are cheap!
Those moto4 are nice machines. You can still have a ton of fun with them.
Great video , you make the best reviews.
@teslame are I appreciate the feedback!
I bought mine about 6 months ago for $1200 so consider yourself lucky with the price

Had one of these a few months back ran like a top but smoked terrible
I got one a few weeks ago and i got it for $100 completely torn apart and i have been building the engine and i’m about to get it on the bike
Nice! There is deals out there if you wait for them. Hopefully you’ll have it running soon.
Great deal . Good little machine .
@Mark Bow I can’t complain!
I’m learning an old machine fixed up paid off is way better then a new one with a payment book
@Arcticcatic802 Yes, you got that right!

I'm glad I don't live closer to you, I'd be buying all these things from you.
Basically a old Yamaha warrior
Do you have an EDC? Ever see any bears?

I bought one about a month ago
@J W Nice! They’re tough little wheelers.
That's a nice machine. Do you know if a 225 motor from a Moto 4 would bolt onto a Tri Moto?
is that have reverse or just neutral & drive?
It has reverse also.
how much do these run?
also if i take the outlander to the can am shop how much would they charge to fix it there rate is 140 hr
