They have new baits now, like, square bills (not bad), spinner baits(actually really good), haven't try the "whopper plopper" yet, and plastics(jerkbaits, worms, "critters"...) Not bad for the price.
My wife was slamming smallies on the bluegill pattern squarebill a few days ago. I've caught fish on the soft plastics and hard baits. My saying is "Don't sleep on Ozark Trail."
They have worked really well for me. Started with the little crank baits trolling for crappie since you lose so many and they’re cheap. Was pleasantly surprised by how good they worked after changing the hooks. They worked good enough I started trying other stuff they had. Hard to beat for the money. Thanks for an honest review.
I tend to buy the key chain lures at walmart. Take the keychain stuff off, toss on some split rings and treble hooks...TADA! Like $1.52 for the lure, plus the split ring and treble hook (that you were probably going to replace on a cheap lure anyway). If fishing an iffy location I would rather break off a sub $2 lure than an $8+ lure. 👍🍺🎣
I actually may pick up that jerk bait because of the quick floating. Fishing a jerk bait from the bank, that fast rise to the surface may be beneficial.
I have a silent Lucky Craft lipless that the fish love, but the fourth bite I lost the fish because the treble hook broke. That is a $15 lure. It seems like some companies cut cost by using cheap hooks. I've been eyeing Ozark Trails baits. I go to sporting goods until my wife is done. I've only bought the flukes so far, but some of the lures look good. Our Walmart has two different quality/price lures in some of the Ozark Trails baits.
Great vid. For a low budget angler like myself I really appreciate it. (Side note for all fishing UA-camrs. If you could make mention of what time of year and temp you are fishing in I'd appreciate it 🙂)
Ozark Trail is actually redoing their hard baits. They are also releasing wire baits and quite a few soft plastics as well. The new hard baits are like $4 and the soft plastics are like $2-4 or so. Just depends on your area on what they have in store.
Great video! Not bad for the price point and that popper looks like a winner and good to teach kids with as lures get lost often sometimes 🤪 lol. All in all I think they are worth a go.
Been using lipless and square bills walleye and smallmouth love them in the river also the spinner baits from ozark trail catching a lot of largemouth especially the sexy shad color put a white trailer on it they can’t leave it alone
I'm sure you know but they have a whopper plopped(Ozark trail) an actual square bill, spinner baits buzzbait all kinds of lures. They actually don't look bad at all. I haven't tried them personally but they look great. They are in way different packaging then the lure you bought
I've been catching Walleye and Smallmouth bass on their replica Rip n' Rap lures. My most successful Ozark Trail brand is the blue and silver pencil bait. My only complaint is they haven't found the perfect weight yet. You'll know what I mean if you use the Rapala then switch to the Ozark Trail replica. That issue means you just have to present it differently. The only other issue one may have is hook size and quality but mine have survived snags and bouncing off of rocky bottomed lakes & rivers just as well as leading brands. I did swap trebel hooks on a couple of them.. All in all, the quality it great for the price. I am pleasantly surprised with them and will continue buying them. BTW, I've been fishing Holloway Reservoir in Genesee County, MI.
I just caught my personal best bass yesterday at around 4.5-5 pounds on a Ozark Trail rainbow minnow jerk bait. Once I figured out how to use this lure the bites were on and crackin
Used a Rattle bait and caught 8.5 on first cast .Trouble was busted on my third fish.Tied on another got two more fish .They work but not as sturdy .I never changed the hooks
Cool vid! I feel its not enough savings once tax comes in to justify having to replace (eventually) the hooks. Mustad shorty hooks arent the cheapest...
Ozark rocks Give Hendrix a icheap electric and he would’ve burned it up as much as his strat. Point being , it’s the artist not the gear. AT all, just a label
What do you guys think about these lures? Have you used them?

I have used the Ozark Trail Rattle Traps 7/16 oz in gizzard shad color. They are little but they do very well for the bass in my area.

Im starting to think there soft plastics are there creme of the crop.

They seem to be the exact parts as used in the lures.

I caught a 5.35lb last week with a Ozark trail bone white popper but I changed the treble hooks to Eagle claw red size 4 hooks.
actually those mustad trebles that came in a previous bag would be 🔥 on them.

4.88 at my Walmart
Great video!! I appreciate the comparative side by side review. Is there a chance you guys are going to do a soft plastic version of this video??
their weird ribbed lookin stick worms are funky. bought 2 packs and yet to try them myself
Good comparisons.I might try them out at my local Kentucky Walmart

The deal with the minnow is to jerk and twitch it fast and hard. I've caught large and small mouth on the solid white with pearl color.
i can say they work. may not have the action of the name brands but fish still smack em. trade out the trebles for sure or sharpen them.
Minnow lipless and the mini version are the sauce. I also caught a 14in Red fish with the gold down in Galveston TX.

Do u know if any other colors work
@@DJloudpack3208 yes sir maybe not the best quality but I have caught some nice fish on the spinner baits and crank baits

They also have a new series for 2021 that includes a plopper style bait

The show announcer cuts in.... Thanks guys! Great comparison! Fish, what do you think?
The chartreuse and orange squarebill is a killer

I've thought about picking some of these up. Just hesitant. So hear we go let's find out.
Dude their soft baits are pretty good! $1.35 per pack of 15 worms!!!
I didn't mind the lipless for the cost.
I just bought the Lews Pro Ti rod and reel combo is it worth 700$ ,and have you fished it before?
No idea, looks sick though!
When you were talking about the ozark trail reviews, was Paul doing sign language or having an “episode?”
Casual episode 😂
😆
Before even watching ik they work. Have caught lots of fish on em
