In the Japanese version of *Frieren*, only Himmel's feelings for Frieren are portrayed with romantic subtext, while Frieren's feelings for Himmel are depicted with platonic subtext.

To get the full sense of the anime you should watch the first 4 episodes before deciding if you want to continue. That being said I believe you will like it enough to continue the series.
Mimics aren't "from" Dark Souls, my dude. They outdate video games entirely. I think that they originated in D&D in the 70's but I might have my game or decade off.
