Great comparison video!
Mr "Very Very" Stewart is back again. Thanks for your review!
Totoro88 lol, thanks. More videos to follow soon for my UA-cam watchers
Hi Paul, great video as always! Just wondering do you think these rackets are suitable for doubles or singles? Or maybe both?
Argus Chan they are suitable for both
Paul, what would you say is the most distinguishable difference between the ZZ and ZX? I saw many reviews on youtube but none of them has draw out the difference in a clear way.
Totoro88 the biggest difference for me is the head weight. It’s more noticeable on flat drives where ZZ is easier to generate power compared to ZX.
The bend in shaft is different too.
I also think ZZ has a tight, almost compact head feel, probably the best feel on the stringbed since the original Z Force
Hi Paul, great video once again! I've saw some other reviews on the Astrox 100 ZZ prior to this video and some have said that the ZZ would be a good replacement to the Duora Z Strike. Any comments on this?
Lewis Ang thats subjective as it depends what you like about DuoraZ Strike and what you feel is missing
Paul Stewart Advanced Badminton Coach I'd say what I like is the stiffness and the balance of the Z Strike. But probably wouldn't like the slight lag behind in speed on Defence.
Lewis Ang 100 is a touch faster.
Paul Stewart Advanced Badminton Coach oh I see, thanks Paul!
Dear paul, is aerosonic ok for the zz? I heard some saif that thin strings like the aerosonic is not suitable for this racquet. I usually have my racks strung at 25
Any string can be used on any racket. The question is whether you feel it’s a good combination and works well. The only persons opinion that matters is yours
Hi Paul, Interesting review. I just want to know the right calculations about string tensions since you are expert.
Here in Indonesia, not many people use digital stringing machines, most of them use manual.
And so many wrong or misleading informations about that, some people said digital is +3 lbs from the manual. If you ask for 26 in digital means 29 in manual.
Is that correct ? And also the myth of skip 1 row strings around below said for smashers. If we do that the sweet spot will be higher up. Even though I used both and never had a chance to see the difference. What do you think Paul ? Thanks !
I work on the basis of an electronic machine stringing 10% tighter.
Yonex prefer their rackets restrung in two pieces so we leave the bottom cross out so the 1st cross is 9T. Most players won’t miss this string so let’s not worry too much about it
Hai Paul, wonderful review... I love to read your written reviews... Is the head shape of Astrox 100 is similar to Ashaway Phantom series (X speed II / X fire II)... Is yonex is adopting outdated but capable design of Ashaway???
Ashiq Ur Rahman ive no idea. I just love the racket. Bear in mind Yonex has tested racket head shape before with Arcsaber Z Slash
What do you think of the 100zz compared to Z strike?I own both z strike and 99 and thinking to maybe get this one as an upgrade as im slowly losing touch with my 99.
Radhi Ha all good rackets. Ask yourself what either your 99 or Z Strike do well and list the areas you feel they are t so good. Nobody can say whether a new racket will improve those areas in your game. You may find a massive advantage switching to 100 ZZ but there are no guarantees
hi Paul. been watching your videos since 2013. Is astrox 100zz 4u an upgrade to ZForce2 u4 in terms of power ( in your oppinion) thanks
Myton Jan Talosig interesting question. An upgrade, probably not. It’s a completely different feel and it’s sometimes unfair to compare. However, it can easily be seen as the successor to Z ForceII
@@TheBadmintonCoachthanks for the reply. Im bit itchy of trying this racket base on your review.😀
Hi paul, great video as always. I want your opinion of both of these racket comparing to 88D (in which I am currently using). IMO, the 88D is abit hard to generate power and is slightly tiring after a while. Thanks in advance.
Kevin Ching I think you need to assess the specifications of racket they will allow you to generate power. It could be that you are more suited to even balance frames
@@TheBadmintonCoach I see. Thanks for the advice.
In terms of stiffness would you say the 100ZZ and 100ZX to be as stiff if not, stiffer than the 88D? As I do feel stiffness of the racket is the reason I couldn't generate power. I've tried even balance rackets like Arcsaber 11. Comparing 88D to the Arc11, Arc11 is faster but simply lack of feel that was found in 88D and lack of head weight as well.
@@GuitaristBoi9 try the base voltric lite, its very cheap but well made quality racket with flex, great powerful smash using 66ultimax or exbolt63 at 24lbs.
With a stiffer racket you need more from yourself to create the power but when you can you'll get more than flexible one
I got the chance to try both (4U) at my local gym last 2 Fridays ago as well since our local coach was given them to try. I do like both for different reasons and I feel like the 100 ZX is more suitable for singles and the ZZ for doubles. The ZX felt too sluggish for doubles and ZZ was just amazing for fast exchanges. My elbow hurt too much to test the smash but clears, drops, pushes, and hairpins told me all I need to know what I liked about both rackets. I feel like the 4Us tend to have plenty to offer for both rackets and this is coming from a guy who loves 2U/3U rackets. I kind of wonder if the 3U ZX would probably have the solid feel that I liked so much with standard head heavy rackets like the Z Force 1. It's gonna be a while before any of us are able to play badminton but I hope to find out in the future. Thanks for the reviews coach Paul.
Tom Tran I am looking forward to hitting with 3U ZZ when we are able to return to court. Personally I do not expect much difference.
@@TheBadmintonCoachWhich one did you end up preferring between 3U and 4U within 100ZZ?
@@bubblebubble50 4U but not much difference between them.
How would you rate the Astrox 100zz in terms of speed, power, and stiffness compared to a Jetspeed 10/Astrox 88D/S? Mainly looking for a comparable doubles racket.
Bounthavy Siphanh wow, that’s a tough one as it depends on your preferences. It’s a good doubles racket. It’s probably stiffer than the other rackets but the flex point is different with it being solid core shaft.
Head weight is probably similar to 88D but balance in the head is different. 88D has more weight in the top whereas 100 seems to be more evenly spread
Paul Stewart Advanced Badminton Coach with the weight being spread out more and more balanced would you say the 100zz is faster/more responsive or around the same? I would assume the stiffer shaft would allow for quicker response after making contact with the shuttle. Also aide note, love the Jetspeed S10 due to the control and speed but did miss the punch with a heavier headed racket. Currently rotating between the Astrox 88S/Auraspeed 90k.
Hi Paul shout out from Indonesia! Btw i have one question for you. Which one do you prefer, Astrox 100 ZX or Voltric LD Force? I always rely on your review because your pick always suits me. I got my Astrox 100 ZZ & Voltric 80 but I need another racket. Thanks!
Why do you need another racket? What is your Astrox 100 ZZ not giving you that makes you want to buy again?
@@TheBadmintonCoach I want to try a new racket that can be used for doubles. Really curious with Voltric LD Force. Is it worth to buy?
@@gestatryputra390 Astrox 100ZZ can be used for doubles.
Heaving flattened head, would it make a problem clamping the last horizontal?
Bálint Vásárhelyi there are no issues stringing these rackets. There’s still enough room to clamp the last cross string
Hi,
I'am 20 n have been playing badminton for couple of years now n was using Yonex B series (which had about 95g weight without grip weight) racquet currently. Planning to upgrade my racquet to a lighter one (I loved light weight racquets when ever I played with them). I play doubles mainly and prefer to play in front. I consider drops, netkill shot, placement as my strength. Love to do smashes also but lacks power and accuracy because iam short in height n doesn't have that much strength. Would like my racquet to help me get some extra strength in my shots while not messing up with handling speed n accuracy. Will Yonex Arcsaber 69 light be a good choice for me? What about Astrox Smash?
The 88s was made specifically for a doubles front player, great for defense.
@@guiltycross thanks for the reply but 88s is way off my budget.
Suggest you look at Arcsaber or Nanoflare to suit your budget
A friendly word of advice when you’re making a comparison video it helps to not refer to both rackets as “this” when they look and sound identical we can’t tell which is which with the closeup of only the head and if I’m only listening I have no idea which model you’re referring to.
How do they compare to the lin dan force, which you said was like an improved voltric 80?
How many stars do u give to Astrox 100 ZZ since u gave 5 stars n a gold to LD force :D
They compare very well indeed. Yes I am aware how good Lin Dan Force plays. However, these rackets, especially ZZ is on another level
Great review as usual Paul. But which retailers in London or nearby would actually allow you to test both before choosing one to purchase? Never come across anyone who does this yet. Thanks
zahid ahsan speak time Mani and check out Gefen Sports
I'm using Voltric Z Force II and I'm going to buy a new racket. May I know which racket should I choose between 100 ZX and 100 ZZ?
just go for the 100zz. give the new hyper slim shaft a go.
Ze Xian Lai most likely you will find ZZ a better choice but it’s always better if you can test
I was wondering which racquet is easier to use? astrox 100 zz? or 88D?
Rommel Alastra they are both good to use. I prefer Astrox 100 but I can also see the merit of 88D
thanks Paul@@TheBadmintonCoach
Hi Sir
I used to play more doubles Is it a alternative racquet for Astrox 88D 4u
what is better voltric z force 2 or the zz ?
Shankinstar Chakri whichever you believe is better. There is no such thing as the best racket in the world. But when you test two rackets, you will prefer one. This is the best for you at that particular time
Hello, my question is if the zx does anything better than the zz?
It will have a more familiar feel as the shaft is standard. The head is also slightly lighter and therefore it’s probably a bit quicker to move for your shots.
What would you say the zz or 88s
jgbenni it depends why you may be wanting either.
How is the zz compared to the auraspeed 90s?
Kelvin Tan 100 is more head heavy, stiffer with different bend in the shaft. 90 is faster frame, lighter but won’t have the same weight behind the shot if you need it
I can't handle 88D 3U and duora zs 3U but i'm fine with 88D 4U and 88S 3U
do i go 100zz 3U or 4U?
I play double and fast attacking style.
Thanks before.
Michael Glendy suggest 4U. There’s plenty of speed and power in this racket
Any website for buy the racket
Depends on where you are based, but UK wise, these guys are taking orders:

Thanks
Is this better than astrox 99
Rajeshwary Thiruchelvam better is an opinion only. It will play completely different. Some will prefer the stiff, head heavy 99 over this whilst others will find the different flex, different head shape provides a completely different feel which suits better
Where is the weight of the Astrox 100zz 4u and the Astrox 88d?
Yaya Gitar I feel it as medium head heavy
VTZF2 is still better
That’s a matter of opinion
👍
