G’day, John. Can not help but notice how many people are recording here, including gent @ 13:50, and publishing to UA-cam. I’ve scanned many of them but always come back here for in-depth coverage. No one has the dialogue of events that London City Walks does. That is why I always come back here. I loved seeing the dog there @ 25:47, almost looks like a Kuvaz. Thank you, John; take care.

I was watching a video of the Kings Troop on holiday from 2 years ago. I've been spoiled by you John silence at first then thankfully the officer started to talk about what was happening. I so much prefer to hear your comments. You pick up things I'd miss otherwise. Thanks.
Morning John. The horse you pointed out as Ormonde 17:22 is actually a mare, Quintessence. She has a similar blaze to Ormonde. Ormonde was actually behind her, second last horse.
Could almost see the name of the new horse on the 'connecting strap' under the jaw, perhaps you could zoom in on that?
@@Ronin4614 I am only subscribed to John, Buska, and little Frank ,he's such a darling, others mislead you with the title, John makes it interesting , natural tour guide.
So nice to hear tourists say thank you to the trouper after taking their photos
Lady Police Officer is wonderful to the horses. Excellent at keeping tourists in line . Interesting video.
Hey John i noticed our great woman police officer gave you a Beautiful grin.🎉❤
The nameless horse is gorgeous 😍and the policewoman is amazing 🤗
That grey is a stunner and the trumpeter was magnificent with his solo.
I thought the Lifeguards departure was fun the horses were eager to go home barracks haynets and horses teatime - let's go woo hoo!¡!¡!😊
17:09 then the blues arrive so stately and Ormonde looking very restrained and stately.
I know! That was all very wonderful!❤❤❤
Life Guards
we love Ormonde
You are my favorite, and Buska is second. Watching from America
Cosa legga l'America e la GB,,,,,,,,,,le guerre nel mondo.
Naaaa, Buskas best. Perhaps it's an age thing!!!! Over the years Buska has done so much to protect a horse or a Guard from an obviously stupid b====y tourists.
As a third generation American, my English heritage stood up and applauded when the magnificent Guards and their beautiful horses came out of the barracks just now - I felt such pride - wish I could be in London tonight! Thank you John!
It’s amazing that the colossal poundage of these horses can stand on dinner plate sized hoofs and such tiny ankles!!!!
You should see the drum horses feet they are as big as dinner plates
The trumpeter was brilliant. Best I’ve heard
Woo hoo..... Ormonde in the house! 😉
Yay!!! Hurray for King Ormonde, the King of the Blues & Royals Horses ;)
So happy Ormonde is here again.
I know! The icing on the cake!❤
I love ormonde because he keeps ignorant tourists under control.
I really enjoy and appreciate John’s high quality footage and great commentary. 👍🤗
John, the gentleman with the daggers is a body guard; he carries them at all times. Geeze, you tax my brain with historical info John. I'm getting old now and my PhD in History is finally useful! LOL At nearly 80 I have a wealth of knowledge tucked away, but I rarely have had cause or need to use it. LOL That Grey of the Life Guard was gorgeous! And you are correct the trumpeter did nail it! Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
Good to keep those grey cells at work!
I may not have a PhD I'm only a Mom, however my son's call me instead of Googling for info! 😂😂
I think a lot of us are missing end of day from John, this was an extra special one and great to see. Thanks as always
Loved this afternoon. The change over, the grays and trumpeters, and the dismount in the yard...Magnificent! Thanks, John.❤😊
Loved all 3 videos especially the walk to Buckingham Palace such a nice treat
Love the Blues and Royals 😊
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thank you John, I have learned so much from you. What a super smiley Guard that one was, who wouldn't give up the name of that magnificent horse. And that Lady Police woman ( Can I still say that? ) how lovely is she?
Hi John, I just have to say, I have tried to watch other channels and have exited very quickly as they never say anything! I then find you as I enjoy your comments. Keep up the fabulous work.🥰🇺🇸
I really like the Horse Guards they are so stunning the Blues and Royals so smart and Horses are stunning beauties
40:16 Blue & Royals are back looking as magnificent as usual with their own fabulous looking grey and trumpeter. Everything back to normal despite late changeover due to rehearsals.
lol, lifeguard horses saying we’re out here had enough of pesky tourists 🤣🤣❤️❤️
Home at Hyde Park barracks, teatime 😊
Don,t blame them
@@sued616 you did read pesky tourists? That doesn't mean all tourists, because many are respectful. The pesky, disrespectful tourists are not really welcome 🤗. If you watch you will see many polite, interested tourists enjoying their visit. 🇦🇺😊💖
That lady police officer is great , love it when she interacts with the horses as well .
A Sikh used to come into my shop in Peckham regularly wearing his dagger. I can't remember its name, but he said the Police had no problem with it. I wouldn't recommend anyone trying to take it off him.
The kirpan is permitted if the person in possession of it can prove they carry it for religious reasons.
If wearing Scottish traditional dress a sgian Dhu is also permitted.
@@msfrred1st Kirpan, yes I remember now. He explained the religious significance at the time. He became a regular customer. Other Sikhs used to service my car. I was doing a 600mile weekly commute. They did a great job.
i know it was a protected religious item.
Proud of my fellow Georgians acknowledging the lady trooper.
No excuse for tourists getting too close to the guard just because the chain wasn't in place. It is about respecting someone's personal space.
Ceremonial or not carrying a bladed article is illegal. The King’s guards can’t wander around with their swords when not on duty.
But a kirpan- which I think the Sikh gentleman was wearing - is usually blunted for ceremonial dress purposes only. Either way, because of it’s religious significance, carrying it is not illegal - taking it out of its sheath in public, if not blunted, could pose a problem.
Brilliant long guard and exceptional trumpeters. It did look like the horses that were leaving seemed more enthusiastic than the ones arriving. Perhaps they’re anticipating their nice, cushy stables well, away from pesky tourists.
The dust being kicked up by the trumpeters horse and the haze from the sunshine made the image look like a ghostly mirage from the past. I saw your video the other day of you walk to Buckingham Palace. I too was surprised they haven't got the gate repaired yet though from the ladder peeking out over the top of the boarding, it looks like someone is working on it. There probably isn't the craftsmen now days to be able to do the job quickly and they can't work on it while troops are in the area. I also agree with you to give that area a miss. It was a chaotic nightmare. The walk through St James's Park was really nice though. Thank you.
Wow! Long Guard's horse looks like satin. Does he not? Stupendous!
Very good John, long day.....The gentleman who brought the knife is as responsible as whomever my take it from him, and use it. Thanks for allowing us to join you on your journey at Kings Guard.
How frisky were those horses getting away?
Good morning John 😊
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧💙💜🩵🐎🐎🐎
The unknown horse should be named “Mystery” ! 😂
Hi John, I'm very glad that you got to film a long guard after so much time. It's nice to see these things, i so the grey, MAGNIFICENT ❤
Fantastic John great to see the long Gaurd miss this so much. Beautiful horse's. Thank you John Stay Safe ❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧
I agree with you 100%.
Ahhhhh Long Guards NEVER get old. Also really nice to get end of day cos, yes it’s been a while. 😂looks like a couple of the LifeGuard mounts are into the idea of cantering back to Hyde Park🤣. Oh what a stunning picture with the trumpeter riding into the tunnel…….just gorgeous, and nice work on the call. And the Blues always look so sharp!!
Love the confuzzlement out the front 🤣 it must get hard trying to keep up with all the changes at this time of the year cos they seem to change on the hop😂
Poor lad on the end of the lineup for the dismount😂. His Mount had obviously decided that it was late enough for him and it was time to get into the stables, like RIGHT NOW!!
Love, love, love that female officer…..firm, kindly but takes no crap! And the daggers aren’t “ceremonial”, theyre religious. They’re blunt for normal wear anyway…..and wasn’t that a stunning blue colour??
Thanks for capturing this for us. I circled back from the Palace in the morning, found HG still closed and called it a day. 4 o'clock was back home, feet up, cuppa cha.
Suspect this will also have to suffice for Wed and Fri, since there are more rehearsals scheduled for both days.
John , Your The Best ,Just Loving Your Updates and Videos, 👌👍👏👏👏 Love 🥰 From Cork Ireland 🇮🇪👌👍👏👏👏👏👏
Those Life Guard horses are in a hurry to get back to the barracks for their tea 😀
Thank you John! That was a mad packed 50 minute video. Always fascinating to watch and learn. ❤
Thank you very very much lovely video as always. Glad King Ormonde back xxxxxx
Absolutely a beautiful Tradition. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Have to admire that lady MOD officer. You can tell, she loves the horses/guards and isn't afraid to let tourists know it. Maybe the new horse's name will be revealed on the day of the King's birthday celebration. If gelding perhaps "Charles"
Horses happy to get out into fresh air and exercise
It’s amazing watching the eyes of the police “people “ constantly scanning the crowds for trouble. So reassuring.
"i cant tell you the name of the horse", sounds like to me "i don't know the name of the horse" 🤷♀ if he's new would make sense i guess...
The guard shop should sell a t-shirt with an outline of a guard that says: embrace the shout
😂😂😂
I'd buy it 😂
and another design.. DO NOT DISRESPECT THE GUARDS. plus GET BEHIND THE LINE.
What a wonderfully, eventful day, started in a subway looking out at the Thames , ended with a fabulous change over & the sight of a colourful gent in full Sikh ceremonial garb , wow 🎉
So enjoyed part 3...what an education we are getting ! thank you!
Very interesting, I do enjoy seeing the Long Guard, thank you so very much for doing a part three, I enjoyed all three.
Thank you, John,
For another amazing I love the new blues gates women.
I love how that policewoman was amazing outside the gates talking talking to the guard and also how she engages with the horsee.
I’m so glad there were no horse guards in the boxes when those very loud cycles roared by. That could have been a disaster.
What a beautiful day you have John.
Possibly they are not making the horses names available for the same reason the human troopers aren't called by name
I love this female police officer. She cares for both the horses and the soldiers. 45:28When another young male police officer puts the chain on, she walks behind the soldier. That alone makes me feel like she cares for the soldiers. John, it was a great video as always. Thank you! From Japan 🇯🇵
Why don't any of these tourists do there research before they visit....and bring some respect and manners, if they possesses and at all... i guess its all about themselves and what they think they are INTITLED TO OH PLEASE i feel for the soldiers and police, the horses as well
They need to paint the other first white line another color. So when they say behind the white line there is not doubt what they mean
Maybe paint 'this a bollard' out front 😅
John, if you ever come to America, I can assure you Southerners are the friendliest people. 😊😊😊😊
He's the best trumpeter I've heard
Sikhs carry a Kirpin, they are allowed to carry them for Religious , ceremonial sporting or historical reasons . Yes I googled for some of it 😂
It’s a symbol of high moral character , modesty respect justice and authority, it’s never used for offensive purposes.
Wel done and thank YOU for sharing your time .Take care and all the best. 😊😊😊😊😄😄😄😄👍👍👍
John, the real challenge is learning their stable names.🤫
Enjoyed your interaction with the 2 ladies noticed the one said thank you to the gaurd
Jane Fonda! You are priceless John!
Brilliant videos today john thank you.
Wow beautiful white horse❤
Hi John, I know you work a day or two behind. But maybe remember Lee Rigby on this day. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hard to believe it's already 11 years since his murder.
Lifeguard horses very happy to leave lol.love watching long guard etc thankyou john great video as usual
Thanks so much for the upload this one is definitely one for the archives, appreciate Ur content and humour and the educational value to anyone is fabulous, cheers John from New Zealand
the lovely walk down the mall yesterday was so enjoyable the scenery absolutely gorgeous --thanks so much.
Hi John. Linda from Florida. Another magnificent video. Thank you!
John are all injured horses and guards back now?
Vida and Quaker are recovering , Tennyson and Trojan will return to work . Last report from the Army said 1 Trooper still in hospital no more news as yet .
love your commentary is sometimes absolutely hilarious 😂 😂also very informative too was the chain not up oh dear
So good to see...Thank You.
.
The horses name will be announced on the day of trouping the colour. Mytirst guess Elizabeth if a mare or Charles if male.
Windsor?
CHARLOTTE/ LOUIS
Maybe the horse is an undercover horse!! 😂
Bond? James Bond
The dagger is called a kirpan and is recognised as being part of their religious regalia and the blade is usually blunted as it isn't meant to be a weapon used aggressively.
Kirpan? No just can't remember that name - it's in storage up there, but doesn't retrieve.
I believe the knives originally were for protection of the weaker ones like children, women and elderly. Lovely religion. As heather stated they are now Ceremonial.
Good afternoon John, have a good one.
Gorgeous dog!🥰🥰🥰🥰
as soon as I saw the tall lean copper on duty I knew they were all in good hands. he needs more respect.
We’ll just have to name new horse John Jr. in your honor!! 😅😅😅😅😅
How odd that the lifeguard couldn't tell you the name of the horse, he always smiles and seems super friendly so very strange. Must be a good reason
Orders from above I would wager. Still curious though ...
Or he may not know himself🤷who knows
This is probably a stupid question. Is there a significance to the different color blooms On the guard helmet??
"...the Life Guards who wear red tunics and white helmet-plumes, and the Blues and Royals who wear blue tunics and red plumes."
Fantastic vid john
Hi john i just got a t shirt with it is what it is printed on it lol❤
I'd like a "I survived meeting Ormonde" t-shirt if they existed.. 😂😂😂
@@marywood6270they would be very popular!
The Horse With No Name. 😆🐴
That was a very nice 3 out of 3, John! Thank you for that!
I was wondering: when is it more crowded on Horseguards, in the morning round 11 o’clock or in the afternoon round 4 pm?
Definitely more crowded in the mornings!
My thoughts exactly 😅
They are allowed to carry their daggers
We used to be out from 06.00 til 22.00 when the gates were locked. Boxes were 10.00 til 16.00
Woman police officer brilliant xxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks for a very interesting 3rd video
Hope nobody nicks the boards outside the boxes lol.
The horn player was great.
People just wander in anywhere 😂😂😂
I prefer the Blues and Royals unfirm
Uniform
Why are they letting so many people in?
What a Beautiful Grey Horse. The Guards are so impeccable and and just amazing. So PROUD to be born British.
Thank you John .
Morena John, very much loved this Long Guard in it's entirety (and watched pt1 and 2 with lots of pauses, busy days) Rather strange to see the changeover happening in late afternoon. As the Blues and Royals rode in through the tunnel it was like a flashback to when Peter rode in and he looked directly into your camera. After the dismount the guard at left had a struggle to hold his mount in place. Waited for the Boxman to reveal the name of The Horse With No Name 🎶but even the law couldn't coax it out of him. Thank you John for the wonderful contents and commentaries...May 20 that sure was a long eventful day. Take care. kiwi 😃
Interesting hour John thank you: Kiwi
The bounce was a trot
Actually called a sitting trot as rider does not "post" with each stride!
@@shirleyfisher8313
I agree.
