It talks about an addicted woman that finally is ready to change after the wasted years , her husband has heard that many times but this time he believes it’s finally true through the eyes of Tammy the dog . A homage to country singer Tammy Wynette
Bjorn Loves the Country singer Tammy Wynette { Stand by your Man }. Agnetha loves dogs so Bjorn used both in the song. Tammy Wynette was addicted to prescription drugs and Her Husband [ Country Music Legend George Jones ] was a bad alcoholic. They had terrible fights and the public was well aware of it. One would clean up from their addiction and the other would relapse, hence the arguments etc. This song is about them. Through all the fighting and hurt, they still loved each other till the end. Tammy died at 55 RIP.

It is.NOT about Tammy Wynette. The dog is named Tammy as a nod to her. That’s it. Bjorn said so.

Although I haven't heard all the songs on this album yet, this one is my favorite so far. I was expecting an upbeat song to be my favorite, and it may still be. But this song really packs an emotional punch to the gut. While some of the other songs on "Voyage" are very wordy, this one says a lot with just a few lyrics. And the tune is easily accessible and memorable. Although I haven't been in the situation of the song, it still made me cry.

It depends on the video, I used to pause a lot but some comments used to say it interrupts the flow. So now, I normally limit myself to 2 pauses during the song mostly ☺️

Dude, are you kidding me right now? You TOTALLY missed the meaning of the obvious lyrics. She is a DRUNK and her alcoholism has destroyed them. She finally tells him she's ready to get into rehab and although he's happy, he's skeptical because she's disappointed him many times in the past. She feels horribly guilty for killing his spirit, but she's trying to convince him that she's finally ready to change. Seriously. This is what the song is about. Jeez.
