Started my cloud journey a little over a week ago. Always been interested in tech, never worked in it. I am currently taking a course for aws cloud architect now. I can honestly say I've never been so excited to sit down and learn something new. I dropped out of college a couple years ago because I felt stifled by having to sit in a classroom and learn arbitrary subjects I don't care about and pay thousands to do so (I did go the community college route before doing so, so I saved thousands there). We'll see what the future holds

Hi there! I saw your video recommendation on UA-cam. I have over 15 years of experience in IT operations work and some programming, mostly for game development. Now I'm interested in transitioning to cloud computing. I'm hoping your video will provide a good roadmap to help me get started in the cloud industry. Your recommendations seem really helpful. Thanks for putting together such an informative video!

Hello GPS. Thank you for the great video. This was really useful.
I used to work in a different career as a paralegal, then recently was a Software Engineer, but now I’m trying to get into a role within cloud/devops.
After attending a tech conference, I decided I really wanted to work in this field, and found your channel while researching. I was also one of the many people laid off at the company I was working for, so now I’m free to pursue my passion.
Thank you for the amazing content so far. It has been really useful, informative and inspiring.

04:00 this is so true. I live in Morocco and you couldn't even reach certain roles, especially engineering roles, if you didn't have a degree beforehand. I'm a computer science student on a cybersecurity internship but I have been getting more and more interested in cloud and devops, your channel is a gold mine of information!

    Hey GPS,
First off, I love your content.
I am 30 and starting fresh in the IT field-no degree or boot camps.
I come from a background in carpentry for the last several years. I also have plenty of customer service experience at a manager position prior to that.
I know that I can relate aspects from those jobs into possibly landing a support position in IT, but I wanted to give myself a little more on my resume.
I have been studying for the CompTIA A+ cert and will be ready for test 1 soon. Do you think that this cert is worth spending anymore time on to complete test 1 and then test 2? Or do you think it would be a more valuable use of time to go ahead and start applying for support jobs, and then studying for a cert that may be of more value while working in that new job?

Or do I follow the 6 month roadmap and apply to cloud jobs directly? And if I need to apply to an exposure role like a helpdesk role, how do I prepare a resume for that? Please note I do not have any work experience. Thank you! :)
