      In your opinion what do you think is the best route between these options:
      1) Getting a degree in BS-Cloud from WGU
      2) Getting entry level cert/s to try to get into something like helpdesk and learn more cloud and IT while working
      3) Go WGU route and try to get a find a entry level job while working on your degree
      Money or time is not a big factor.

    Hi GPS, great video!! I've been working certs and felt kinda lost on next step to cloud. The 2 project advice is a perfect idea. Passed AWS SysOPs / Linux + / CCNA, working last 2 years for amazon as IT support engineer in a local warehouse. It's soooo, beneficial to hear insider insights on the real needs of business, and how to reverse engineer training to match. Hoping to become a cloud security engineer as a long term goal. Thanks again for knowledge sharing - the HD chart download is awesome!

    • @JoseYuri
      @JoseYuri 6 місяців тому

      I'm currently learning cloud and GPS has said before (correct me if i'm wrong) that cloud is basically networking. I got A+ years ago and while it's not going to get you a cloud job, it will teach you the foundation that will help you on your cloud journey. Even more, I think Net+ is great simply for the knowledge. I revisited Net+ training after 10 years and it was a great refresher that taught me so much that didn't "stick" when I studied it 10 years ago. As I'm studying for my cloud certs, there is so much Networking involved and I feel I would be lost without my Networking training.

    • @metalmayhem007

      Only need comptia A+ to help get your first job in helpdesk. If your already in then go focus on Azure certs. But bare in mind network and security knowledge may be required to be successful in cloud so get those fundamentals.

    Question. Why is most cloud content on UA-cam (including your own) targeted at beginners and planning their career? Why not post some topic of you working on a complex project, that way you could you could give beginners an idea of something to aspire to?

      @@MadeByGPS These are all too simplistic, some even have 'beginner' in the title. I mean a complex project like a senior engineer at an enterprise would be working on to give people something to aspire to, like 'one day, if you work hard you could do this' but instead, most content creators are posting '10 easy cloud projects', 'learn the linux command line in 3 seconds', 'learn python3 with me in 20 minutes'. There are 10000 of these projects, but nothing like, 'How to build a Data Lake Warehouse' or 'Implement Azure DNS Traffic Manager with me' or 'Understanding Bounded Staleness in CosmosDB'. TL;DR Content creators make too much beginner content.

      It depends on the content individuals choose to make and their choice of how to give back to the community. There absolutely are clips on UA-cam for specific or advanced topics.
      Due to being more specific, you may have to refine your search. Just searching for "cloud" or "Azure" for instance may by nature only find those broad or beginner topics. For example, searching for "Azure API Management" will bring up advanced topics on that Azure specific resource.
