As a pianist, I cannot imagine anything more scary and nerve wracking than playing Op 10 no 2 in a packed concert hall as part of the top piano competition in the world with some of the worlds top pianists judging/listening AND thousands more watching live at home. The pressure doesn’t get higher than this. Kudos to Anastasia for keeping it together and finishing her set.

She's professional. She kept a straight face and continued performing the scherzo even if she knew that it was lost. I applaud her for having the integrity to continue. These things happen. Even the best of the best experience bad moments in their lives. Competitions in art are very meaningless. Winning or loosing does not change the essence of an artist.
My heart aches for her because these artists prepare for years for this competition. Bravo to her and I hope she will have a great career.

She is such a brave lady that keep playing the next piece and finished the whole program with claim and aplomb even though she just experienced such a nightmare in front of thousands of audiences a few seconds ago.
She is thirty years old and it is the last opportunity for her to accomplish her dream on this stage (the age limit is 17 to 31). I couldn't imagine how much hard work and effort she had made, prepared and practiced day after day with great enthusiasm, and how many years her had waited for this moment. What happened in ten seconds smashed so many years of her hard work to the ground. It was too cruel and unnecessary.
I can see she has enough ability and skill to play all the pieces very well. These mistakes might never happen even during her daily practicing. It's just truly a very bad luck.
I hope this experience will not affect her future career and her passion to the music. If I can I will give her a big huge hug !

When she got stuck, she immediately went back to beginning of the etude. It was so quick that I actually thought it was my computer going back to the same point and repeating the same part over and over. She's a great pianist, unfortunately these things happens.
Some days when I play, my fingers just get stuck and don't move, and I try to continue from where I stopped, but I make such a big mess of everything, and it's impossible for me to go back to the beginning of the piece as she did.
