Colt Pythons are pieces of art!
Wow! A rare and highly desirable collection of Pythons. I find myself just as excited and proud when I open my safe and view my 4-inch blue steel Python made in 1975 sitting beside a dozen very sharp looking S&W pinned and recessed revolvers. It's still the pinnacle of my collection.
I wonder how much would my 1966 colt python .357 magnum would cost today…
These things are all fantastic!! Wow! And this dudes no doubt a gun guy! Lol I love his excitement 👌🏽👍🏽
The most beautiful revolver EVER!
Witch One?
Possibly the worst fire control system ever smooth crisp and VERY fragile
un reliable junk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They're up there alright.
I never felt so jealous in my life.
I original from CT and I have owned two Colt Python revolvers for 40 years since I brought my first one in 1978. I never had issue with any old colt revolver and I owned over than 170 colt revolvers. I had Colt Police Positive Made in 1909 unfired condition. I understood that Colt had outsources parts and possible assembly to South American country to cut cost. I moved out of CT in 2017 and I miss3d Colt and all of my gunsmiths friends who work there for many years.
My husband just purchased a colt python Carol Wilkerson in bright sterling, the only one made. He’s ecstatic.
My dad recently gave me his 8” Blued Colt Python he bought back in the 80’s. He’s shot deer, rabbits, snakes, and gators with it for as long as I can remember. I’m keeping it to pass down to my son. Awesome handgun!
@Paul B Really careful headshots
My dad has a 1982 blued 6" that was a Christmas gift from my mother...
I went to the Mesa gunshow today - where I saw a .22" Python! I now wish I'd seen this clip beforehand!
In 1982 I bought a 6" stainless python NIB for $600. $2500+ today!
WOW! Amazing Colt Firearms! 🇺🇸😎👍
6" barrel blue Colt Python, masterpiece.
Just perfect, I take it over any other handgun...maybe Walther P99 but I like revolvers and I love Python. Mine was made on 1976.
Many queens in my safe, the king is probably the 8" python. but, remember if you shoot it enough you will need to get it re-timed.
Well I happen to own a "PYTHON TEN POINTER" packing a 8" barrel. And was made in colts custom shop. Not the assembly line. Hand polishing of interior and exterior parts, with a Royal Blue finish.
I’ve got a 1965 colt python I bought from a retired cop who carried it on duty. Unfortunately he put rubber colt combat grips on it and the gen 1 wood grips are long gone. Only pair I’ve been able to locate were $800. No thanks.
$800? Are you joking? I have a pair. About 30 years ago I was given a pair after the owner changed the grips. I have to find it among my junk.
JAG312 Would you be willing to sell them? I have a 1958 Python with custom wooden grips that my father-in-law put on when he carried it as a cop. I don’t know what he did with the original grips. Thanks.
soylent Green, I have a python from 1965 as well. in average, used condition.
That's some high quality, expensive metal sitting on that table...quite the family photo
Gun Porn!.... I'm mainly a Smith and Wesson Guy, but Colts have a special place in my heart too.... My Dad passed away in 2001 and I still have all his guns... Hundreds... He was big time... Anyhow, I have his Python he bought new when he got home from Vietnam.... And its absolutely beautiful and totally priceless to me.....
Wow The Holy Grail Of Pythons Joel 😮😮😮😳😲😲😲😊😊😊
Man nice scroll going on. I'm worried about the finish on mine, I'd get up in the middle of the night to check on that one.
Very nice revolvers
Several family members have them. I saved my pennies and nickles and bought on last night. A 1976 4" nickle. I looked for five years for the perfect gun for me. Not a "Safe Queen" but one I could take to the range. I have quite a few pistols and this is the best by far. My Ruger GP100 is a close second
Buy them,use them. Enjoy them.
Hey guys! Thanks for tuning in to another video on forgottenweapons.com. I´m Ian McCallum and I´m here at the Rock Island Auction Company looking at... Oh!? Mmm... Wait... Eeh... Nevermind.
I chanced into a 1974 Colt python 6 in bbl royal blue mint a few years ago and ever since the first time I held it I just couldn't put it down.i bought out an estate and this item was just along for the ride.i now consider it the flagship item of that purchase.had I not aquired it I wouldn't have never understood the allure and privilege of this supremely beautiful weapon.i would love to fire it but I won't considering it's condition.i would never sell it unless somebody got wreckless with their checkbook.owning one of these is belonging to a brotherhood of immense pride and a right of passage in this American land, even more so now that there number is a finite existence.
beautiful handguns.
i've heard of timing issues with high round counts, and that has steered from from entertaining acquiring one. however, colt is back at it with the king cobra, so you just know, the python will be reintroduced soon.
I also have 2 Pythons. One I used for years in PPC competition, and probably fired 7,000 to 8,000 reund through it. The timing is still good, and the trigger just got better with age. The other one I have is hardly shot, probably less than 100 rounds. Not even broken in yet, and you can tell by the trigger pull. As for the new Pythons (2020), I have handled a couple and they just are not the same, and IMO not worth the asking price.
The 2019 design of the King Cobra is a really nice gun. I was looking for something shorter than my 6" Pythons, and I opted for the King Cobra with the 3" barrell. The action is smooth on it; not as good as my broken in Python but better than the one that is not broken in. The one thing about the King Cobra's action is that when you are shooting double action, you have be sure to completely release the trigger to reset the gun. The is a spot short of the full release where you feel the trigger give but it is not fully release and if you pull at that point it will not rotate the cylinder and fire.
Tell me something about two-tone Pythons. Robert Blake had one in "Electra Glide in Blue". How many were made? Was that a one off custom?
Oui, my buddy has a custom from his grandpa- from colt, and it has wood handle and it is downright sexy
It's so beautiful gun!
My Colt Collection is no longer a concern in what I own but who will inherit it
Never realized the Python was that old . Now i know 🙂
Loved the vid, now I need a little privacy
Lol
I would love to see a colt python 7 shot in deep, pearl black finish.
Now that would be special to me.👍
I wonder what they sold for at auction. The pricies on Pythons has gotten pretty high, even if they are not early production.
Those grips look like rosewood....on the product development exex's Python
Just how rare is the long barrel .38 Special chambered variant of The Python ? Owned an 8" blued years ago. Must of had a very short production run. Have not seen one come up for sale for over 25 years. One of those things I never should of traded away.
I see a few online 8" 38 target,. Around 3 grand asking price, BUT, I haven't seen any sell though....
The Rolls Royce of .357 revolvers. Prices are through the roof, but that's another story.
I have a blued Colt Python 8 in from the early 80s. Not sure the exact year. Is there a way to tell the exact Year from the serial number?
I found out.1981
I happen to own two Python Ten Pointers in royal blue finish and 8" barrels. One has less then 300 rounds though it and in about 80 to 85 % new finish on it. and the other one has never ever been fired 100% new condition. Can you give me an approximate value on each.
Thank you
Ruben Gonzales
Just curious what they went for??
Just got an unfired 78 6" in box ! Video comong soon
I have one .6", blue , in the original box ....one box of .38's I fired..never left my Dad's closet b4 that
Rick grimes wants to know your location
Barry Burton want his guns back
I have one
Don't you have a video with Colt BOA's?
Not yet...
For some reason I was expecting to see gun Jesus
WhenI I win the lottery
Ever see a Python in 38 wadcutter? Not 38 special...38 wadcutter. With a very short cylinder. Too short to chamber a 38 special. Well I have one. :-)
That sounds like all sorts of fun.
You mean a 38 with no round showing, just the casing?... Like the projectile is 100% in the casing? They called that a cop killer round before body armor was a thing previous of the 1990s
Where are your white gloves? -)
I'll take them all, how much?
But we sold one that can be shot, yet we won't shoot it
The Walking Dead Gun is a .44 magnum correct?
Hotwheel66 No. The one shown in the Walking Dead is a nickel plated .357 Colt Python.
Wait... This isn't Ethan.
joe pike approves..
22 existed
Top of my bucket list is a first year (1955) Python. Just because I was born in 1955. I had a 4" Python I acquired in '95. Traded even for a 70s Series Gold Cup that gave me nothing but grief. Shot the Centerfire leg of a Bullseye match with it and scored second place. Like an idiot, I sold it a few years later. Still kick myself for that one. Prefer the older ones made before Colt virtually threw Quality control and customer service out the window.
The new 2021 Pythons.............
.PURE CRAP
Anything called "python" is scary.
python coding is scary
I think Dan Wesson took it a step further!
Ummm ok
.......think this is a gunsmith hack
It makes me smile cause I'm making so much money for selling shit that's not even my own...!!!! Yay.... And also doche
They can't be shot
Ohhh it's helpful yet none was actually made
Don't own a Colt and never will.
