Hi Tomo, thanks once again. I have to tell you, I find lots of inspiration in your guitar/life talks and lessons.
So happy to hear that. Thank you!
Great advice Tomo-san about being prepared and problem solving (@ 4:15) when things go wrong! Nice sounding Squier. Thanks for sharing as always.
Glad to hear that. I always be prepared & relaxed and nothing can stop me!
Hey Tomo, thanks for what you do. Only found you in the past year, and I have to say, you've done more for my guitar playing than anyone, ever. I'm 55 yrs old and feel like I've been in a playing rut for 40 years. I'm fairly proficient technically, but your videos have changed my MINDSET, and that has set me free. For the first time in my life, I can actually express myself through my guitar, and it's an absolute joy. Thank you so much!
You're very welcome! So happy to hear that. Guitar is easy to start but its so hard to go deeper musically. Good job! Please join my Guitar Wisdom.
Thank you, Tomo! I remember what you said about "veggie burgers" whilst referring to transistor amps, I love your parallels. This diner vs steakhouse comparison makes it so clear. Thank you, I always get to learn something from you.
You're very welcome! I made so many silly jokes! Yes! I love good steak! My son and I were talking about 1/2 Cow!
Thank you Tomo, I've been the student you never knew for many years now THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!
You're very welcome!
Thank you for explaining the use of the switch with the single pickup. I never knew why single pickup guitars had a switch sometimes. I learn so much from you! 😀👏
You're welcome! I love this guitar!
Very enjoyable, love those country licks, lap steel "railroad" sound. Albert Lee is so fantastic. Really nice lesson thank you Tomo!
So happy to hear that. Thank you!
Love that guitar!!
Thank you!
Funny, I picked up my phone to check on my order, a Squire Esquire from SweetWater, and I see my notification for this video! Should get here today. I usually go for the latest and greatest, but it seems like Leo Fender may have gotten it right the 1st time. I hope I can play mine 10% as well as you. Thanks for posting this video!
Hope you enjoy it! Thank you!
Ohhhhh, Tomo is playing a little country music. 👍 Cool. You should play one country song from start to finish just for fun. I know it will be amazing. 🎸 🤠 🎶 😎
Thanks so much!
At the start of the video I think someone said tone is in the hands. I guess they're right
Thank you!
Brother, not only do I love your playing, but I would love to hang out with you, play guitar and cook some food together. You are just so down to earth. THSNK YOU!!!
Thank you so much! You can hang at my Guitar Wisdom.
I just received my Squier CV 60's Custom Esquire from Sweetwater. Mine was 7.6 lbs the lightest one they had at the time of purchase. I didn't get as good of a deal as you did, but I'm still happy with the price I paid. I'm going to spend the weekend getting to know it. Hearing you play and listening to your comments regarding your Esquire, makes me feel good about my decision to get one.
Thanks for sharing! Thank you so much!
Awesome system!
Mine is 6.5 lbs! I didn't like it at first but now I love it.
今日同じ黒のスクワイヤーエスクワイア購入いたしました!いつも勉強させていただいております!ありがとうございます!!
それは、良かったです!
Thanks Tomo for the inspiration to just pick up the guitar and not to worry.
You're very welcome!
Thanks for more Esquire. Never enough 🙂 I saw another video that loved the Esquire. He actually used a Fuzz with the forward position, which you had recommended but I hadn't tried yet. Amazing. I couldn't believe it. Definitely not useless. He also liked heavy guitars and his was pine. Way too heavy for me at around 8 1/2 lbs. But he said the original Esquires were pine. Have you ever had a chance to compare the two? On UA-cam I couldn't hear a difference. A video using different pedals with the front pickup would be fun. Thanks again.
You're welcome! The front position is a great for using fuzz or heavy distortion! I will make more fun Esquire videos. Thank you.
A guitar with binding is like a two door car; they all look great 😍
Yes!
One of the last guitars I truly want to own
Great guitar!
Now my day will be great! 👍🙏 Thanks!
So happy to hear that!
Hi Tomo! Congrats on 450k, and hello from Sweetwater!
Hello there! Thank you so much! Now 452K!!
Been shopping for a new Tele. This could be the one!! Sounds great.
Hope you enjoy it! Thank you!
Oh, if I had you as my teacher when I started out, I’d be so much better!
Thanks so much! I am here!
Excellent song beautiful lesson 👍🇬🇧😊😊😊✝️🇬🇧
Thank you!!
So fantastic is Tomo teacher and the Esquire is great 👍
Thank you!
Looking forward to more country playing and lessons!!
I just made country triad lesson yesterday (not publish it yet) Thanks!
@@TomoFujitaMusic YES! I just ordered an Esquire and it will be here Monday ready for the lesson. ;-)
@@richr.9963 Awesome! Enjoy!
thanks....looking for tone examples of this setup as I got one coming...love your playing ...Berkley Boston?
Thank you so much! Berklee in Boston, MA
Rear/by tail piece - bypasses tone control/straight pick up & volume, (works well for metal/shredding, w/ pedals/no other pick ups/magnetic fields to offset/compete with) > all the way too the front/neck position - from what I've read - Fender thought that roll off would be used to simulate a Bass guitar on a 6 string
Thanks for sharing!
I’d be glad to take that off your hands Mr. Tomo If you get bored with it! A T style guitar is one thing I’m lacking in my arsenal 🤩
I love this Esquire so much! Only 7lbs!
Yes, more country lessons. Maybe if you could shoot it a little bit closer & explain it just a little bit slower. Thank you for what you do for the world of guitar playing. Congrats on all your subscribers. I'm up to 101 now. 00
Okay! No problem! I can do much slower. Thank you! Good job!
音が気持ちよく乾いてて素敵です!
フレーズも軽快で心地よいです!
ありがとうございます!
I'm buying one:):)
Awesome!
8:10 Ah Spark ! I discovered your channel because I wanted to learn this song
Thank you! Did you watch this?

yup already watched both of them ! You explained well !
@@Bladavia Thank you!
👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks!
Great...
Thanks!
I just weighed mine. 6lbs 13.3oz.
Awesome! Less than 7lbs is ideal
@@TomoFujitaMusic Have you pulled the pickguard yet?
No
Love the weight. No Tele or Strat should weigh over 7 lb. Sadly, Fender is turning out Teles and Strats in the 8 lb range and charging $1600 USD plus tax for them. Said guitars have traditionally weighed from 6 to 7 lb. They should start using better and lighter woods.
29 years at Berklee??? Tomo was the youngest teacher at age 10!!!
Thanks for sharing! I love lighter weight guitar like this. I have been teaching at Berklee since 1993 so almost 30 years in year of 2023! I was born in 1965!
Hi Tomo, always enjoying your play!
Just curious when you play walking base line are you aware which chord you are on every moment? Would like to hear your thoughts that on video some time!
Thanks so much! Yes! I follow each chords. Did you watch this video?

@@TomoFujitaMusic Thank you! I’ll practice this weekend:-)
Please do Tatsuro Yamashita’s Love Space
Thank you!
I really wish I would’ve learned finger picking. I’m so old now I don’t know if I would ever reach a decent skill level before I die 😂
Never late! You can really improve your guitar playing any day!
Tomo: do you prefer a one pickup guitar to have a neck pickup (Musicmaster) or rear like the Esquire? Which is more versatile?
Thanks for another fun and useful video.
Which ever I love it. One pickup is the key! Simple & Limited so I can focus something else. I love both ways. I think the rear is more versatile. You can make warmer tone by how you touch... but you cannot make brighter?
@@TomoFujitaMusic I agree 100%! As much as I love my musicmaster, I did add a bridge pick up to be able to achieve those brighter tones.
@@bobmurphy3061 Thank you! The Fender Bronco Guitar! Rear Pickup!
You'd make a fine side man in a hillibilly band, Love to put one together for charity.
Thank you so much!
Are these good guitars? Do it need any luthier work?
Pretty good! I bought it from Sweetwater
All set to go!
You say that your rant about food had nothing to do with the video but it's actually on par a perfect example of what you were trying to say about limiting yourself. It's the "jack of all trades, master of none" example. A steakhouse that only has 5 menu items has a high chance of making a damn phenomenal steak. However, a diner making 60 plus items.... you get what you pay for... So by extension, trying to learn all music styles actually degrades your ability and thought process in what style you truly are interested in. If you're trying to improve a solo and have 100's of styles to pick from, your solos can become sloppy or chaotic because you're trying to blend too much in. So I understood perfectly what you were saying with the food comment!
Meant to say "trying to improv a solo" not "improve" lol
Thanks for sharing! I am so lucky that I found my good limitation! I am so thankful. John Mayer did same discovery for himself.
You're welcome! And yeah I found my limitations as well! I first fell in love with metal, bands like Korn, but because I locally grew up playing for chuches in my area, I drifted towards a more country style. And you are right. Country does tend to blend country, blues and jazz together. I'm really efficient with country and blues but still trying to learn some jazz chords to fill in my rhythms more. John Mayer became influential to me early in his career. Discovered John in 2004 I think when Eric Clapton invited him to his Crossroads Festival. I look forward to more of your wisdom! Checked out your website too! Loved getting introduced to the song Sparkle through another video of yours. Very inspiring song.
happy to hear you worry a bit about your wife's opinion : )
Thank you! I listen my wife carefully!
You actually paid for them Tomo? 🧐
No! I paid it from my pocket! This was I don't owe anyone!
@@TomoFujitaMusic OK so the answer was yes then! 🙂 So you just buy 2 of them, a blk one and a blue one? YOu would have asked Sweetwater or Fender and they would have sent you one FOC I'm sure.
@@onejohnonenine I bought one at Sweetwater & one at Chicago Music Exchange. Maybe. This way I don't owe anyone!
スパークル!

ありがとうございます!
No offense but wouldn't hurt swapping a little of your guitar practice for English practice. The 29 years comment blew my mind.
Thanks for sharing! I will do my best!
I want one Sensei 🥹, sounds soooo nice.
So good!
