- André Skinner explores Gibson’s Les Paul Junior finished in Tobacco Burst.
The Les Paul Jr. returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played and loved, shaping sound across generations and genres of music. It pays tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of innovation and brings authenticity back to life. Introduced as an affordable option for students and beginners in 1954, the Les Paul Junior has been embraced by musicians for over 60 years. The single cutaway slab mahogany body, single dogear P-90 pickup, single volume and tone controls all add up to a whole lot of guitar which is greater than the sum of its parts. The fat 50's style neck profile and wraparound bridge add to the equation for rock-solid tone.
This video features playing examples along with an in-depth overview of the physical, visual and sonic highlights of the instrument.

I have the black one. Absolutely LOVE IT! Rock n Roll machine! And Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke is a bad man on a jr!
Johnny Thudners, the ultimate les paul junior player.
I was going to say the same thing, JT rules
The Junior, my desert island guitar. Not selling my other guitars but if I had to choose only one, she'd be it.
I bought my Junior at the Bloor St location; the tonal capabilities on the Jr are amazing, so much variety from Jazz to crunch, completely happy.
Awesome, thanks for shopping with us Mike!
I like a neck pickup, so prefer the Special
But lots of cool stuff done on them.
These are rock n roll flamethrowers. Plug in, turn up, and roast'm up!
I love how the knobs are far from the picking hand, i cant even play strats because of that
bought one today ! the neck is huge !
I just bought one and I don't really notice the neck size, and that's coming from a modern C to D Tele player.
Great demo man. Well done. BUT these are expensive in Australia and it's hard to justify next to a full LP. Sure the looks and the sound are there, but ...
Before COVID they were going for $5500 -5800 US for a nice one.Since then all of a sudden asking for $10k US..but now sitting.
The Gibson USA Les Paul Junior featured in this video is priced at $2149 CAD. Are you talking about vintage models?
@@longandmcquade yes old ones in US$
How is the internation? Great video thank you.
I bought one last week. Straight out of the case the intonation was actually quite good. It hasn't been an issues for me so far. I still plan on taking it in for a pro set up at some point , but for now I'm really happy with this guitar.
Close. Best guitar ever is the Gibson LP Special. Rock on.
To boku!
Ray Torro played this on the black parade
When eve i see this guitar i just think green day
Billie Joe Armstrong is definitely one of the most recognizable players of the LP Jr!
Joan Jett is known for playing Melody Makers, not LP Jrs😛
Cant you play it in a mix a little longer then 2 seconds in the beginning? I understand copyrights and such but can't this guy just make up his own thing? A clean sample and then a distorted sample of it in a full mix?
The play-in is 20 seconds and serves as an intro to the video. The sound demos start around 3:07 and include clean and distorted tones, both solo and in a mix.
There is no best
this company is a joke ... they dont keep up with trends at all and it shows
?????????????
Trends come and go... These are classics. If you want a MGK guitar try a Schecter.
Best answer..... don't buy it. I don't like grapefruit.
