    First of all... really? Why would there be any thumbs down? She has a pleasant voice that is easy to listen to, she is quite organized with her thoughts and her demonstrating, and she provided useful information. Why do some people feel the need to criticize? Anyway, I found this to be quite useful information. I already own the Gelatos and had thought about buying the Tim Holtz Crayons, but now I see there is truly not a need (for me, anyway) to have both. This video saves me not just time and money, but has helped make a decision not to add more stuff to my studio that will take up more space and probably not be utilized to its full potential.
    I'd like to add that I love Tim Holtz and his products. I just don't need duplicates of products I already have.

    Thank you. I have heard a lot of people on Periscope wondering about the differences between these two, and you have showed us very clearly.

    Very informative tutorial. I was wondering exactly this. For what I need I don't need to buy distress crayons. The gelatos I have already are perfectly adequate

    So how would you ever make the Distress crayons permanent?????

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  8 років тому +2

      +Christine Bell Think about Distress Inks. They are always activated with water, but do not rub off. The Crayons are the same. They won't come off unless you rub them with water.

    Thank you for the comparison, when you did the crayons the other day the first thing I thought was it was just another take on a gelato

    I love the gelatos more too. I guess if you rub hard enough with the baby wipe, you could probably (?) get down to the original white surface too.

    I just saw a video that stated the opposite. That Distress were perm when dry and Gelatos were not. lol

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  7 років тому

      The Distress will dry so you can add inks over them - but if you get water and rub them they will reactivate. The Gelatos are suppose to be permanent when dried.

    The only thing missing from the video would be the price point comparison.

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  7 років тому +2

      I never include prices because I am in Canada. My prices are different then the US price - which is different from England and Australia, etc. But they are close in pricing so it's better to choose the one that works for you, not necessarily the one that is cheaper.

    Interesting. I still want to know the secret ingredient that makes distress ink water reactive!

    what type of paper did you use?

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  3 роки тому +1

      It is watercolour paper, but there is a thin layer of Gesso. So you can use any paper with a thin layer of Gesso and get the same results.

    Wet one as in just a baby wipe?

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  8 років тому

      +Ramona W. yes, you can use a baby wipe.

    • @ramonaw.2760
      @ramonaw.2760 8 років тому

      What kind of wet one is this? It seems like it does the job really well, so I'd like to get the same brand and type.

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  8 років тому

      +Ramona W. It's a brand called Wet Ones. It's not actually a baby wipe, since there is usually alcohol in them. Look in the household cleaning supplies area. www.wetones.com

    • @ramonaw.2760
      @ramonaw.2760 8 років тому

      What is the comparable ingredient in baby wipes and these that makes the colour lift? I am just curious. I love the technique!

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  8 років тому

      +Ramona W. I think it is just the moisture. a wet towel make work just as well.

    I HATE gelatos and crayons. They leave so much behind that I think is ugly. If you use chalks or inks to get the same look I think you're after, it's a lot easier and it looks a lot better. I will never use these ever again. I have yet to see a video using these that looks good.
