If by speaking practice you are just addressing "mechanical practice you can use websites like "duo lingo" that will grade your speaking, programs like Rosetta Stone that do the same but is quite expensive. If you have an I-Phone you can set Seiri to Italian and see if she understands you. If you are looking for personal interaction I would recommend first looking for an Italian language meetup group, if you have skype and are part of the Il Tavolo Facebook Group you could see if an Italian there would like to Skype with you. And finally you could make use of an online or local tutor. (I do also tutor). These are just a few ideas for starters. :) I hope that helps!
+Isabel Portelli Practice learning how to say things that you actually do in real life everyday. Then say them everyday, and keep adding to them. I have found this to be very helpful for "initializing" my neural network upon awakening and throughout the day.

I have found in my own experience of 8 years of study and 7 years of teaching that most of those that didn't learn Italian and really expressed that they wanted to, gave up. I understand why but think it is a shame. Life is too short and realizing a dream is an awesome thing! Now of course sometimes there are circumstance when we need to re-prioritize and sometimes dreams have to take a back seat but that isn't the situation I am addressing.
