Great video buddy, & one hell of a Monster of an Xmaxx you got! I have 12 rc’s been into the hobby for little over 2 years & finally just pulled the trigger last month on my Xmaxx & widemax kit, Just bought a new servo yesterday 2085X, I didn’t want another junk Traxxas servo but apparently you can’t fit any other servo unless you cut the chassis, But I heard Hot Racing makes some adapter & mount to run a Savox or whatever you want.
I love your excitement and enthusiasm in these videos. Can you help me understand the gear ratios? If I wanted bigger tires for example what do the various gear ratios mean?
Sweet build Will this motor for the K8S ? I have this ESC and amd waiting for my Motor but would rather do the complete matched set. I know I have the 780kv in my k8S now
there the only advantage of running it in 12S is the drop in amperage it's just good to preserve its batteries,,, the 1100kv in 25/35 8S seems to work really much stronger
It's too big. You would have to cut the most upper chassis braces to get it to fit. Not to mention the added weight. All in all its overkill for a xmaxx.
it can't hook up so why even bother. It handles very badly, I think it could be fixed but you would need custom machined shocks and heavier progressive springs, then you have the problem of 40+mph wheelies forcing you to back off to even attempt a turn. Its a cool build but not my cup of tea, I would rather have a well balanced rig.
First let me start by saying holy cow that thing is totally awesome, I personally favor your DBXL E, 12s But my god what a monster, monster truck. I was curious if you didn't use the 2 6s CNHL batteries you have in the Dbxl because they won't fit the Xmaxx or are they simply delegated for the DBXL only? Sir in no way way am I criticizing your choice (you have more experience and cars/trucks than I could ever hope to have) however I have heard using lipos that are not exactly the same discharge rate, c rating (which is completely unregulated so who knows what your getting until you try it or run expensive batteries) and the mah should all be the same. Brand isn't important as the mah amount,c rating and discharge rate. I only ask due to I've heard seen fires so with that big powerful max4 is it less risky? I would've thought the opposite. Again Joe I mean absolutely no disrespect or criticism I'm honestly curious?
on 12s the 560 comes out to about 2000rpm more than the 800kv on 8s so that would make the 560kv faster. 12s on both, the 800 would be way faster but would have heat issues
@@ExocagedRC I know that in 8s there is 8000rpm more on 800kv. But just thinking if 560 have way more torque it could keep up. Do you have video 8s 800kv with 1:1 ratio, how fast it could be?
This motor has potentially more power than the Max 5 and Castle setups the problem is very few people are running it to what it is capable...it's a low KV large can torque monster that firstly needs to be geared higher but also this is a 16s capable motor, Killowatt rc has used this in his XRT and got his fastest speed run yet using the Mad Max 21 esc. You can't compare higher kv on same voltage and gearing. One motor is capable if much higher voltage and the other higher amps...but due to it being an overall bigger motor it is potentially more powerful but only if you run it at its max and intended capabilities otherwise there is no point other than to get cooler temps/reliability and longer run times. Pick the KV according to the voltage and rpm limit of the motor then gear accordingly. And no a lower kv geared higher if it is the same size motor and running the same voltage will not perform the same as a higher kv.. the kv needs to match the voltage, you are trading amps for volts by lowering the kv to make things more efficient so need to volt up accordingly and gear accordingly. Looking for more people to try this on 16s to see how capable it truly is.
Bro, it's not torque causing those wheelies. It's air. 5 To go faster you'll need to lower the suspension and put it on the road. Keep air out from under it. If you don't, the front end will always get blown in the air. A couple wings might help, too.
Imagine that system on 12S in a stock XMAXX 😱 lol I'd love to see this system in a Talion and see what kind of speeds you can hit off road 🤔 If your gear mesh was tight it could hurt your speed. I would've thought it would've went much faster with the 30 30 gears 🤔 That was weird. 🤨 Cool vid Exo 🔥👍✌️
It takes an extreme amount of power to get more and more speed. Higher gearing can often times lead to a slower top speed if you don't have the power to actually use it.
Idk…. I think it’s at the point of diminishing returns. Doesn’t mean it’s not bad ass though!! After all I did pick up an Xmaxx after watching your channel for about a month haha
What set up you running mate? I have the maxx v2 6s with a max 6 esc I run it on highest punch level and have 2200kv hobbywing motor I can get the power down if If and only if I gradually bring it down if your even slightly heavy fingers it's going to flip also have you fitted widemaxx kit? Crazy waste, with this much batteries you are nearly adding at least 50% more weight to the truck and not really getting any faster than a stand 8s XMaxx, heck even a stock 4s Maxx is faster and would cost like 1/3rd the price
That was cool! What I’ve noticed is that if i want less wheelie with a 1/1 set up, go with bigger gears. Maybe like 36/36.
I knew you'd get that vitavon chassis and put that hobbywing system in there! Awesome brother!
That big boy movin 🫡

That is a bad ass Xmaxx, so much power...very nicely done also...very clean..👍👍
You should take her to a track on asphalt!! Nasty rc man very nice!!
I think those wheels/tires might be a bit heavy. The belted duratrak six packs are not much heavier than stock.
BTW. Should have said I am new to the RC world. Just got my first XRT two weeks ago. So definitely a newbie.

Do you use vitavon differential ring and pinion gears?
I'm only on 8s and mine keep striping.
It's a beast! Where did you buy the aluminium chassis?
Man that thing is fast haha looks awesome!!
Do u know if I can get a vitavon steerable trx6 mid axle?
I think you might have to put some weight on the front end to get top speed out of that monster 👍🏽

Is vitavon making the drive shaft cover ,part # 7745 ?
I had max 6 combo 25 - 30 gears couldn’t pin it as it wheeling all the time

Hi man. Could really like an answer on this. I run this combo on an xrt. Would 33/26 or 35/30 be good for some faster runs than normal bashing?
Might need a drag racing wheelie bar 🤔
that would keep it down, it has so much more to give

Joe, u gotta try 10S for your speed run! 6s+4s or dual 5S. May be THE best combination of power + speed while keeping the front end down.
